Stayed 3 nights at the Novotel. Chose this hotel because it was in a central location (20 min walk from most sites) and would be easy for the tour guides to find us. Had read on the internet that there are often issues if you stay in an apartment as it’s hard for them to find you, Accommodation price also reasonable. Check in not great. Had booked a twin via booking.com but were given a King. We were told that was what we had booked, despite my invoice clearly stating a twin. We were then told that we would have to pay for the extra bed which was 75, not sure what currency or if that was per night, as I had no intention of paying it. Reception not overly happy but eventually we got the king with the spare bed. Not ideal when you have been travelling for 18hrs and just wanted to fall into bed. Room was lovely, large bathroom, modern with all glass into the bedroom, but a blind available for privacy. Iron and board, dressing gown and slippers, tea/coffee, although clearly you were only meant to have one cup a day! Reception did happily supply more when requested. Noise level nil but we were on the 13th floor. TV in room, great for catching up with BBC news in the morning. Restaurants - the bar was good, reasonable food and drink prices. Mostly English food, fish and chips, burger, pizza etc. We arrived back late and just wanted something quick. Good nicely presented and tasted lovely. Did not try the oriental restaurant but that seemed quiet, as did the other restaurant. Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh fruits/yoghurt/nuts, various cheeses, various pastries and toast. Full English breakfast plus omelettes to order. A variety of Mongolian food rice, vegetables and other dishes. Food replenished without having to ask. Buffet style. Did not need to eat again until late afternoon. Guides said the hotel is easy to find. All guides turned up as arranged. Hotel organised taxi back to airport- 45 dollars. Would stay there again if I ever went back to...

The reception/check in was not great due to reasons as already stated. Stayed at the Kempinski for one night earlier in the week. The reception staff exceptionally warm and welcoming.

Open airy feel of foyer and breakfast room. Nice pool and good gym. Good breakfast. Comfortable room with enough seating. Reasonable prices for food. Good Chinese restaurant for our group. Interesting view over city to distant hills.

Could have more power points beside bed and more tea bags. Good laundry service but they forgot to leave a new order form. Coffee could be better.

Very new. Not far away from the main square that much. There are some good Korean restaurants right in front of the hotel. Some staffs are very kind.

Some staffs were not so professional. My booking seemed to disappeared, and they kept asking the date that book the hotel even i had a confirmation. And my internet at that time were horrible, therefore i spent a lot of time waiting for my internet signal and they kept asking me the same thing. Luckily, we found at the end and they gave us a bit of discount for their mistakes.

What I liked the most was the staff. They were always wanting to help. What was even more special was I had a set of snow boots I had to leave behind. One of the staff instantly offered to have them delivered to someone in need - no hesitation. Thank you.

My room was a little hot at night until they turned my thermostat down but that is a very small point really and they happily fixed the issue when I asked.

Great location. Great staff. Great beds and linens. Good breakfast. Would definitely choose this over Best Western.

In a city with a lot of traffic you want to get out early, an earlier breakfast would have been nice. At this hotel it starts at 07.00, but I would have liked it to begin at 06.00 or at least 06.30. The pool felt a little cold. Probably good for exercise, but when returning from traveling around the countryside of Mongolia I would have liked a little warmer water. The sauna felt great though.

Good location, large rooms, really well equipped. Staff were amazing! Big thanks to Matt for taking care of me after I left another major hotel in the area. I have stayed at nearly all Major large hotel chains in UB. Novotel and its staff were brilliant! Always friendly and took care of everything that I needed.

Room service dining menu was limited.

The room (on the 15th floor) was huge and spacious and matched my booking. The bathroom was also well equipped and everything worked. The hotel staff at the reception and coffee shop were outstanding and friendly, always trying to find a solution. Also, a driver was organized for my tours very uncomplicated. The breakfast was varied, international and plentiful, but one should not expect bread toppings like sausage and cheese (but plenty of sweet bread toppings and all egg dishes freshly prepared in the hot station). About the spa: the pool was large and warm, the sauna pleasant. Massages etc were not offered or tested by me during my stay. The hotel is within walking distance of the German Embassy and the central square with many restaurants, sights and stores, there is a bus stop at the back of the hotel. If I come to UB again, I would go to this hotel again.

The hotel should consider having adult slots only in the SPA, especially in the evening. During my time it was very loud even in the late evening due to screaming and playing children. A SPA is a relaxing zone and not a playground. However, pool temparature was good and shower / bathrooms were clean.

Novotel staff were very kind, and looked after me and my friend excellently. My friend left her passport and money in the safe in the room and Novotel staff Made sure that we got it back. I look forward to staying at Novotel when I return to Mongolia! It’s a beautiful country, and a wonderful hotel. Thank you so much..

Front Desk employees, Maralaa and Ganaa are very professional with great communication skills in a friendly manner, and was impressed by their willingness to assist at anytime. The bellboy, Javkhaa was very helpful and amicable to offer help despite of his business as well. The employee attires were suitable for the hospitality industry as they seemed well trained. The entire stay was convenient and pleasant as all questions were answered precisely and serve delivered in such professional matter. Highly recommend.

The wifi seemed quite unsafe as it does not inquire a password.

I asked hotel reception to order me a taxi and include taxi cost in the hotel bill, I explained that I have no local currency since I arrived late. However the taxi driver insisted that I have to pay myself, that caused a lot of inconvenience to myself
