The main Inn building was beautiful, especially the front porch . The tavern was very lovely with a nice atmosphere, are sever was great and the live music was really entertaining. A little loud for the closeness of the tables. Good was great !

Our actual room in a different building was not totally clean . The main Inn seemed substantially nicer and very nice in general . Checking out around 6:30 was really inconvenient as the main Inn was locked so I could not physically check out. After calling I had to go back to my room, which was a drive back, to drop my key back off. Not a huge deal just inconvenient and a turn off from the overall experience.

The main building is a charming historic building with bags of character, and the reception area is nicely restored and decorated, Breakfast was a simple buffet but good quality e.g. granola was home made. The swimming pool is in a gorgeous location overlooking the mountains and although possibly unheated (?) it was a refreshing dip and relaxing space. We ate at the restaurant in the main buiilding and the food was good. The cocktails were delicious!

We were in the lodge building which is less characterful. The view of the mountains was blocked by a tree right outside the window! However, the room was large and the bed was comfortable so it didn't matter too much.

The property is gorgeous and spacious. The Main building (Inn) is as you'd hoped it would be if you are staying at an Inn. It was well kept and respectful of the time period it was built in (I think the front desk said around 1860) Coffee/tea/water available in the main building. Comfortable furniture, board games, magazines, a chess set ready to play, a beautiful veranda looking out to the hills, indoor and outdoor eating areas, a fire pit, swimming pool and tennis court, and a lovely breakfast w/fresh fruit, assorted homemade options, etc There was also a quiet "Tavern" connected to the building. Since we were there to attend a wedding, we unfortunately did not spend much time utilizing the facilities- although we dd sit in the Living room for a while, after the wedding. Very relaxing. Staff was very friendly and answered my phone calls (yes- a live person), when I called. They offered me worthwhile assistance.

Coffee was weak. Given the quality of the breakfast, coffee could have been a little stronger. We were in the lodge as opposed to the Inn, so I can't comment on the Inn's rooms. There looks like there's another space that was previously a stable(?) or barn(?), but has been converted. Very lovely from the outside. The room in the lodge was fine-functional, but nothing special. I wish it had been as quaint as the main spaces in the Inn, but I also understand that it acquired a new owner recently, so maybe they'll do something when they can? It was clean and stocked with thick towels, pool towels, extra pillow and blanket.

Overall everything was wonderful. The Inn was charming, in a beautiful location with views to match. The staff was friendly and the best part… the resident dog! We picked the Inn because of its proximity to the event we were attending and the affordable rate with no required minimum night stay. It exceeded our expectations and I would certainly book again and highly recommend to others visiting the area.

The lobby bar could have stayed open longer, especially since it was a Saturday night.

We stayed here because we were attending an event at Tanglewood Garden. It was very conveniently located, a 10-minute walk away. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating and the breakfast in the morning was lovely with a table overlooking the Berkshires.

We stayed on the 3rd floor, which is a steep climb up a narrow staircase to the top floor and there is no elevator. No problem for us, but if you have mobility issues, be sure to request a lower-floor room.

Absolutely beautiful views and grounds, particularly from the pool. The breakfast was excellent, and the food at the restaurant was great. Every room was spotless and and well decorated. We enjoyed an evening of music and(great) cocktails from the bar around an outdoor fire- you can't be that. The staff is incredibly hardworking and friendly- whatever they are paid, it is not enough, they are running around doing everything from setting up breakfast to bussing drinks at the bar in the evening. If you are going to Tanglewood, the location cannot be beat. I cant wait to go back!

We traveled with our 1 year old daughter, and while the staff and guests were very sweet and welcoming to her, the hotel is really not designed or intended for small kids. They do not have cribs for the rooms, nor are there high chairs in the restaurant, even for breakfast. We made it work, but I think it would be a tough place to stay with kids 2-4 in particular, and the restaurant's (wonderful) menu is not really suited for kid dining. And while this is not the fault of the hotel at all, we learned the hard way it is very hard to get around the area without a car. If you are taking the train in, definitely make arrangements in advance for transportation. The hotel has a list of local drivers that allowed us to arrange transportation once we got there.

We loved the Apple Tree Inn. The pool is spectacular because it's heated and away from main buildings and it overlooks the Berkshires. The Inn is so close to Tanglewood, that we could hear the Boston Symphony Orchestra rehearsing while lounging poolside and we had the pool to ourselves to boot. The other thing we especially loved was the breakfast. It's a real, European style breakfast with wonderful coissants, granola and fruit. There was also meat and cheese. Also, the first morning, there was a pot of coffee which was especially good and all of it was enjoyed on a lovely porch by the lawn and fruit trees.

The facility is cozy and inviting but it was hard to find staff at check-in. Not a big deal for us because the Inn more than makes up for it with wonderful amenities and atmosphere, but having some clear directions on how to get help near the key return and maybe having people wear a uniform top or name tag so that the staff doesn't blend in with the guests would be a bit better.

We loved how magnificent the landscape and surrounding areas were ! the area is! Everything is so manicured yet rustic at the same time ! The pool , the main mansion area , with its lovely old mansion living room with multiple seating for couples or families, both indoors and outdoors ! Breakfast was buffet style and very convenient ! I love the staff that was making due with so many people for the concert ! James was super accommodating ! Parking and walking path to Tanglewood priceless ! I wish I can go back at the end of August

Mmm the property has seen better days ! We got the rooms off the mansion and they were clean and spacious ! I love historical character and anything antique but I realize some parts need a bit upgrade - I put my money in changing the carpet on the building close to the pool Of the main building I would put a bit of revamping and wood repair/painting specially on the outer structure of the mansion entrance and outdoor breakfast area only ! You can’t see it unless you look ! The place is lovely

Great location between Tanglewood and Kripalu, just outside Lenox. The hosts were delightful, the accommodations charming, and the food at the restaurant was fantastic with really high-quality live music. We had a great weekend there.

There is some deferred maintenance at the property, but nothing that made our stay uncomfortable. Just little things that if upgraded could make a better overall impression. our room was over the main living room area, which is sort of close to where the band plays at night in the restaurant. We were tired from the day, so we decided not to go to the performance, but we could hear the band quite loudly in our room. It wasn’t a big problem for us problem since we were staying up late anyway, but if you like quiet before 11 PM, you may want to stay in one of the outer buildings if bands are on the schedule.

All staff were very friendly. The room was very clean. We had a room with a fireplace. It was a nice touch to be able to have a fire at night in our room. Breakfast was good with an assortment of meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt, and bread. The dinner in the Ostrich room was exceptional. Overall, it was a very cozy, romantic, relaxing getaway.

Obviously, the inn it's self is dated. Though that was part of the charm. No tv's. Again, part of the charm, but if you want that, bring your laptop. The only thing was it was a bit loud late at night around closing time at the bar. But it didn't totally ruin our time.
