Spent 2 nights at the Hotel Lago di Garda as part of a 10-day road trip around Lake Garda - and it was a brilliant base from which to explore Malcesine and the surrounding area. The room was characterfully traditional, overlooking the town’s tiled roofs and with views of the lake. It was spotlessly clean, had good air con (needed in August!), comfortable beds and the widest breakfast we experienced.

Tip: request a room on the third floor for views but peace and quiet. The hotel building has three distinct businesses - accommodation, a restaurant and a rooftop bar - under one banner. Our room was on the fourth floor - the same as the public roof top bar, which is open to the public and doesn’t shut until 11pm. Its facilities (toilets and kitchen) are located next to the rooms, which generated noise until it closed.

Love the central location of this hotel. My second stay here. Had a nicer room this time with a little balcony. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast with gluten free bread, eggs, salad, pastries, cheese, cereal and decent coffee from the self serve machine. Guest enjoy 10% off in the restaurant and I had a couple of nice dinners here. The gluten free pizza is very good.

The desk in my room had not been cleaned since the previous guest. I did check in a bit early so perhaps they rushed the clean. Checked my bill after checkout and was annoyed to find a 3 Euro charge for "gluten free" when I had ordered a salad that was already gluten free (?). On another bill I was charged for adding olives to a pizza that I had removed the ham from!

Location is incredible! Literally in the centre of the town, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, as well as the majestic Castle. Across the pebbled street is a beautiful coffee shop too if you want a change of pace from the hotel. Also close proximity to the shoreline of the Lake. Value for money no doubt.

It is a little bit dated inside, however that seemed to be the case around this part of the Lake in general due to the general aesthetic and age of the town. This is not necessarily a negative or a complaint, as I think an extremely modern building would seem slightly out of place in this specific town, however I am purely noting this for other travellers' insight.

This hotel is right in the heart of Malcesine with cafes and where tourists gather. Parking is an uphill 5 minute walk away from the hotel (the hotel provided a parking card at a reduced rate of $10 euro per day), there is a loading zone to drop your suitcases, etc. very close to the hotel entrance for check-in. This was clearly communicated by the hotel staff prior to arrival. This loading zone gets very busy in the morning as the delivery trucks use the same area, but not an issue. Hotel has its own cafe and meal service, so it makes it easy for tired travelers.

Very nice hotel. It has 4 stars amenities. Lovely staff. Great value for money. Great breakfast and also other meals. The restaurant was always full for diner. Good thing we made a reservation. Loved the decor with the little cars on the hallway.

The air conditioning was loud. It didn't have an option for lower ventilation scale. But we were very tired after being all day out, so we went to sleep easy, despite the AC. But we will come back for another holiday 🥰

We loved our stay, especially the breakfast! There were so many options and very delicious. The rooms were also very clean and the staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

The only thing that was a little odd was that the lights in the room only worked when the room key was inserted in a little slot in the wall. That was fine for when we were in the room, but if one person had to leave to do something, the other person was left in the dark - the solution would maybe be to provide two room keys.

From the beginning, we had great communication about dropping our cases off and checking in. The room was ready on our arrival and it exceeded our expectations. The room was large, super clean and had great air-con which was needed! We got a HUGE balcony which overlooked both the square and the lake, it was beautiful. Thank you for an excellent stay in our favourite place in Lake Garda

The location was close to everything with easy access. The breakfast was exceptional, including self-service cappuccino. We ate on the piazza every day --- it was lovely first thing in the morning. Our room was modern (we prefer more traditional Italian decor) but it was clean and our view of the lake and red rooftops was fabulous on the 4th floor. The bathroom was clean and well laid out, as was the room. There was a comfy chair for sitting and a desk for a computer and our things. There are many things to do in the area even without a car. The hotel had many amenities from early to late to help us relax in between our explorations during our four days there. We really enjoyed the ferry to Limone and Rivas, plus all of the hiking and walking, swimming, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, courteous, and interested. We will be back!

It was difficult to figure out how to drive close to the hotel with our luggage and park the car at first... the town is very busy with traffic and tourists, and that made it a bit intimidating on arrival. Once we got to the hotel front desk, they made things very easy for us, including parking the car. After the initial shock of the very busy location, we came to really enjoy the hotel's location.

A very nice hotel i the centre of Malcesine, perfect location, close to most of places to visit. The room was rather big with a nice balcony with a view over the main square. The room and the bathroom were fresh and clean. Very helpful and kind staff. The breakfast was very good, a lot of thing to chose from. Free parking, even if it took approx 15 min to walk there, but it was a lovely walk by the sea.

I have nothing to complain about.

Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Malcesine. Lovely room of large size. Nice personnel. Tasty breakfast, so many choices. Private free parking cca 1,2 km from the hotel. Highly recommend the stay in this hotel.

There are restaurants in the hotel and on the street with outside terraces, so you have to count with a little noise in the warm season.
