The room had a pleasant, home-style atmosphere ("really nice"). The room was big and good enough for 2 people. The location is very close to tram and main train station. We arrived there quiet late but the staff was very nice, she still waited us and show us the place. The bathroom, toilet and kitchen are shared. But it was no issue. Everything are prepared, towel, shower gel, shampoo etc. Bathroom, toilet, and shower facilities were clean. The owner was very nice and helpful. The owner demonstrated flexibility by adjusting the check-in time for the guests. Guests received a thorough explanation of all necessary details regarding the room and shared facilities (bathroom, toilet, kitchen).

It is good for short stay not long term. I prefer additional pillow in the room. But no issue. The paint/varnish on the door was dry, but it had clearly been freshly applied, and the room smelled strongly of it coming from the door.

The hostel's location is close to a main railway station, so it took me approximately 20 mins by foot to get the place. My general experience with hostels never been good before, but this one surprised me in a good sense. The word "clean" isn't applicable here, because it was literally steryle: all showers, all toilets, kitchen, room itself. No bad smells. Enough space in the room.

The entrance is always closed and when I arrived, tried a doorbell and nobody reacted. Hopefully I meet another hostel guest's smoking before the entrance and she called the receptionist, otherwise, I think, I would have a problem to get inside.

This was a very good find. Situated very near the central railway, Hostel Moravia also has a tram/bus stop outside the door. Literally - 3 steps from the bus and you are at the front door. Inside you'll probably be greeted by Radka who will give a quick tour and show you to your room. My room had a double bed that was very comfortable, along with a table that was good enough to work from, and wi-fi strong enough to hold a quick meeting on. The facilities - kitchen and shower - are shared. I never had any issues in accessing them, though I did go at a very quiet time of year. These communal areas are very clean. Other staff would check in to see if everything was okay. One time I needed a new towel and within a minute, I had a new towel. This is a really good independent business and if you're in Ostrava on a budget, you can't do better than this.

There were no issues at all. I had a lovely time. My room had a tram stop outside it so there is a little street noise, but it never bothered me.

It was a short walk from the train station( or one tram stop). A very nice women greeted me at check-in "Ratna." She answered all my questions and showed me to my room. It was very old and classical. There is kitchen for cooking or making coffee or tea. For breakfast, the best bet is to go Albert's supermarket and buy some fresh bread and make your own breakfast at the hostel. There is a tram stop right out side the hostel (across the street to go to old town). All trams go to old town 4 to 5 stops away. You pay for the tram on board. On the yellow machine, push the English flag for English, but all you do is place your debit card or credit card at the bottom of the machine and it charges you one ticket fare--no tickets.

There wasn't always someone at duty at reception. When I left at 9 am, no one was at the front desk. I left my key in a designated draw and left. I paid for my room at check-in. If you want to use the washing machine, you have to let them know a day in advance and one of the cleaning women will do it for you the next day. You can't use the machine yourself.

The room was spacious, furnished with ellegance and taste, two windows, with high ceilings. Comfy place to sit and enough space to put your stuff. The floor is wooden, warm and pleasant. The bathroom is new, very clean. There's a kitchen available for all the guests, completely with a stove, microwave oven, electric kettle, pots, cups and cutlery, big fridge and dining table. Many places to sit around the collidors, a lot of books to read. The staff was very nice and helpful.

As every place near the tram tracks there's noise all night. That's the price of quick accessibility.

I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere quite like the Hostel Moravia Ostrava. My single room was ENORMOUS with plenty of wardrobe space, a sofa and a large table. The room was tastefully decorated - with even an antique mirror table - as indeed was the corridor outside and the whole hotel. There was a sign on the door that the place has been active since 1850 or similar. There was free shower gel and even slippers provided. The owner was great and nothing was too much trouble for her. Yet the toilet and shower are in the corridor, the accommodation calls itself a hostel not a hotel, there is a kitchen for guests hostel-style, reception is only open from 4pm to 8pm (save for special requests) and when leaving you leave your keys in a drawer near the empty reception. Is it a hostel or a hotel? It's both and neither. The place is a stone's throw from the main train station and 10 minutes from the centre by frequent tram. I paid 797 crowns/€31.50 (including city tax).

I had a big room, with a large and very confy bed. They also have a large kitchen well equiped, two separate showers. The host was very very kind, offering fruits, coffee and sweets all the time. The environment is quiet, safe with a very interesting Central European architecture. It ia a little bit far from the station/ bus station but the route is ok and one can walk to the stations quite easily. There was an open atmosphere, friendly and helpful. I will definitely book there any other time in Ostrava.

For me it was more than expected, since I was alone in the room, it was all clean, safe and quiet. I do not need more.

- located near the main train station and well connected to the rest of the city with tram lines - designed in a nice vintage style, but without the host's things in the room - helpful personnel - the kitchen is equipped with a microwave, a gas stove and lots of dishes - good curtains on windows (although the holder on the wall was loose in my room)

- Bathroom stalls are a bit tight and there are no hooks to hang stuff if you have something in your hands

It is a cozy old fashioned hostel. It locates 5 min walking from the main railway station. The stuff was very friendly. The room and common areas were clean. My room was spacious and has everything I needed. There are tea, coffee, sugar and set of dishes and equipment for cooking at the kitchen. There is a choice of toiletries in the bathrooms.

Unpleasant smell in the room that stays in spite of air freshener.

Cleanliness and ambience. Very friendly and nice staff. I Lots of books to choose from. Great kitchen. Perfect location - just faces the concrete park structure with lots of benches to sit and relax, exactly in front of Tram & bus stop. Walking distance from Ostrava Hln.

The reception remains empty most of the time. It's hard to find the staff. This can be annoying.
