Breakfast was excellent a great choice of cooked and continental. Attentive and friendly staff. The room was right at the top of the hotel and only accessable by two sets of stairs, whcih I find difficult at the end of the day due to an ongoing foot injury. It was also very hot but there was a fan and the staff did offer to try and find a different room lower down for my second night. The staff were very helpful and brought a jug of iced water up for me to help.
The amount of stairs as although I can walk several miles on the flat, stairs are difficult.

Excellent location and the staff were all lovely and helpful. It was surprisingly quiet for a central location but my room overlooked the courtyard and not the road. The room was comfy but the bed softer than I am used to. Didn’t cause a major problem. I should have asked for a ground floor room as there was no lift but the staff were extremely helpful and carried my bags upstairs a couple of times. Looking forward to revisiting soon
The extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work but was not a major issue. Few too many steps at both entrances but to be expected of an older building

The hotel is a historic building dating back to the 15thC and was once the home of Oliver Cromwell's grandfather and later the HQ of Charles I. So it is a place full of history, charm and character. We loved it. Of course some things are dated and the upkeep must be an ongoing task - so if you want all modern fittings, shiny plastic and standard off-the shelf hotel accessories - look elsewhere! The staff are absolutely the tops; the room was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean; parking is free and adjacent; the breakfast was generous and excellent. It's a minute or two from the town centre on foot, and 10 minutes to the rail station. We ate in the restaurant one evening: the meal was good quality 'pub food' at a reasonable price. We'll be back.

The George is an old coaching inn in the centre of Huntingdon. We stayed two nights of a weekend and were very comfortable. There is a pay/display car park to the rear of the hotel which is free to residents once registered at reception. Parts of the building need some restorative/decorative attention but in general, the place is good for its age and not shabby. There is a bar and restaurant which we did not use so cannot comment on food but the bar area looked clean and pleasant. Breakfast was buffet plus cooked fresh to order from a good menu. The food was tasty and well prepared. Our room was clean and well kept with usual TV, tea-making facilities etc; daily housekeeping service was good. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
A little Saturday street noise but not significant.

The Manager knew we wanted one of the rooms that had already been reserved and managed to swap us around. He also undertook to find about about one of the other rooms which we would like to book in future. I asked for herbal and decaff teas and plant milk and these were delivered to the room straight away. The water was really hot and we were lucky enough to have a bath in our room so we each had lovely, hot bubbly baths. We were allowed to leave our luggage in Reception the next day, whilst we went to collet our car from where we had been the night before. The Manager could not have been more helpful and we will definitely stay there again.
Nothing!

-the room we had was big with a seating area which was nice. Had our coffee and tea there -the view of the courtyard ,although at the the time there was a scaffolding by our window. -amenities provided -big beds -hot water for the shower -staff were nice
-dated furniture, the sofa chairs need a bit of a clean -the noise over the weekend as the windows were not double glazed you can hear the merry voices of the people drinking etc -breakfast was slow, poor girl the only one taking orders and serving them. Took nearly an hour before it got served. The rest of our team finished theirs and were still waiting for ours. -when order came, portion wasnt big,not worth it for the price i think.

Location was perfect as I was visiting my son nearby. I liked the old world feel of the place. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast menu and food was very good. Easy to park. Did not eat there other than breakfast so cannot comment on this.
Although I really liked the place very much it does need updating. It is very 'tired' looking, the bar seating area was very small which made it difficult to get a seat for a drink. I really liked my bedroom suite, but furniture is very dated. There was no plug in the bath which did not bother me as I like to shower so did not need it. The second lot of stairs were narrow and steep to my room so it would have been great to have had a lift! EV points in the carpark would be great, my son also stayed and needed to charge his car. We eventually found a point in Huntingdon but it took four attempts before we found one that fitted his car. I hope these comments are helpful as I did enjoy my time there and would stay again.

The room was historically charming and comfortable, the bath/shower room was practical and there were tea making facilities in the bedroom. The breakfast was very good and served by polite friendly staff.
I know it is a very old building and cannot be altered, but in my case, a small lift tucked away would have been useful to take myself and my wife with luggage up to the top floor. This is not a criticism but a suggestion.

Room - good enough for few days business travel stay. Bed, blanket, pillows - awesome. Breakfast quality - amazingly beautiful. Especially traditional English breakfast!!! Thank you.
Breakfast time - majority of business and daily life activities starts at 8am. So breakfast time 7am is late, having in mind that it is not self service swedish style breakfast but we had to order and wait. Used to be late to the event or quick cold snack from whats on table. I would suggest to start 0630am. Would be good to have safe in the room for business equipment.

Staff were great especially Jacob who went above and beyond in the restaurant area and bar. The character and history of the building.
Bed was too soft. Toilet cistern took forever to fill and had a poor flush. All the doors were very noisy. You could hear every time the neighbouring guests came and went. The shower was very weak with a poor flow rate. No real ales in the bar. We appreciate it is an old characterful building, which I loved, so none of this spoilt our stay.
