The staff were lovely and so helpful. The hotel setting was very nice and the hotel and bar areas were clean. There is a nice outdoor seating area out back and the location was great in the centre of Lancaster. Location is a walks distance from a lot of places to eat, drink and visit. A small breakfast hamper was provided since the hotel did not serve food which was really appreciated.
Only to be picky, the bathroom lighting is very yellow, quite an old feel to it. The water took 5 minutes to get hot for the shower the first time I tried and there is no food served at the hotel however the location is good enough, there are so many places close by to eat at.

Staff very friendly, clean room, good range of drinks available at the bar. Nice outdoor area for sitting. Food being an option would be good although the staff were very knowledgeable and good in suggesting where to go for an evening meal and breakfast.
The pub is adjacent to the Police station so there were various sirens to be heard during the night, also next to the main road running through Lancaster so lots of lorries flying past in the early hours.

The staff at The Royal couldn't do enough for us. They ensured that our stay was nothing less than excellent. We were a group of 4 friends placed in 2 rooms in the old stable conversion, it was fantastic! The rooms were spotless and comfortable, the bed and the shower were lovely, we were also given a variety of cereals. In the hallway was a fridge with milk, orange juice and yoghurts and on the top of this was a great big basket of fruit, all complimentary of course. We will definitely be back again, thank you Lily and your team ❤️

the decor was modern, nice colour schemes, nice furniture, nice and clean bathroom, the room was a good size and it was warm. Plus the staff were lovely and the bar was nice and modern as well. I felt safe and well attended. I ordered a takeaway and they were more than happy to sort out and bring to my room. I never felt like an inconvenience
If I return I would probably ask for a 1st floor room, only because I like to have my windows open and I was overlooked from the courtyard, but that’s only a personal preference, there were benefits on being in a ground floor room as well, without the stairs, immediate access to the fridge and the large bathroom.

Excellent location. When we arrived the staff indicated that our room was up a lot of stairs. As soon as we said we had a few mobility problems they immediately changed us to a ground floor room. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was fabulous, all the little touches with complimentary drinks and snacks and breakfast were unexpected but very welcome. The beer garden is beautiful. We will definitely stay again. It is our new favourite place!
Absolutely nothing negative to say!

Spacious room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, friendly helpful staff, and good beer in the bar! Under 10 minutes walk, max, from the railway station and castle - but central Lancaster is compact and everything is pretty close to everything else.
Nothing to complain about from my perspective. The breakfast is fairly minimal (selection of variety-pack cereals and instant oat tubs) and self-help (on the landing outside the rooms), and included in the price (there is no option of with/without), but this was not a problem for me. There are cafes nearby if you want more, although only one seemed to open before 9am ("Bob & Bert's", 3 mins walk away, opens at 7.30am and had a good selection - it's not a greasy spoon, as the name might suggest).

The staff are lovely and helpful. The room was clean, fresh, quiet, and comfortable and had all facilities thoughtfully considered. The room isn't enormous (although equally it was not too small either) and the breakfast isn't cooked (again, it did the job and was quite happy with it), but you know that before you book as their communication is honest, straightforward, and helpful. Overall, fair value for the price paid, and I would be very happy to stay again.

Was made to feel welcome from the very second we walked into building and was welcomed by a lovely staff member (Olivia I think ?) who was warm friendly and really went out her way to show us around and recommend places to go. Room was really clean and nice maybe a bit small but nothing to complain abt.
I really haven’t got a bad word to say abt the place so much we stayed an extra day

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Lancaster. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Excellent location - walking distance to the shops, bars and restaurants in Lancaster city centre. We visited the brewery during our stay which was a short taxi ride away costing £5 each way. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable! We stayed in room 4 which faces the police station. There was some noise from the main road but that didn’t bother us and didn’t disturb our sleep. The help yourself breakfast station was a nice touch at no extra cost! This included cereals, fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juices. On the second night we had a few drinks in the bar which were reasonably priced. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would return to the hotel!
Nothing!

Great modern, clean accommodation in the centre of Lancaster, close to shopping centre and castle, museums etc. Staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Our room was in the courtyard stables to the rear of the main building. Although the rate is for room only, there was a good selection of breakfast items that you could help yourself to (fresh orange juice, cereals, yoghurt, fruit and porridge pots). We would definitely stay there again.
It would have been nice to have chairs in the room to sit on - there was just a stool at the dressing table. We stayed on a very rainy day so there was no one using the bar courtyard sitting area, but if there had been, they can see straight into the downstairs rooms, unless you closed the curtains.
