Location was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful view from our bedroom.
Unhappy that guests not staying at the hotel were able to use the pool, sunbeds and gardens. At certain times the areas were full of families with young children screaming, yelling and dive bombing into the pool. Was disappointing for a hotel I’d been assured was ‘adult focussed’.

Beautiful vintage "Grand Hotel" with all that comes with it. Great location, amazing view (lake) from the window, big room, comfortable bed.
Bathroom - very old-style and uncomfortable (especially the bath). Minibar - upon checking-in you get a note stating that the minibar is "electronically controlled" so even if you pull out a bottle and return it, you are charged. Furthermore - if you store your own beverages/food - you are charged 5 Euros per day, and you have to ask permission in advance. I believe that an hotel of this category and prestige, should not act this way. People should be allowed to store their own bottle of mineral water in the room's fridge... Last but not least - breakfast. On one hand, the breakfast hall is beautiful, like the rest of the hotel. Really majestic. The staff is very kind and helpful. On the other hand - the breakfast itself - could have been better. Very basic/continental.

Really over the top, fanciness. Really impressed our 12 year old 😂 The room was nice, the beds were very comfortable, the shower was excellent and didn't leak water all over the bathroom, as usually happens in hotels. The indoor and outdoor pools were great. Breakfast was good. Very short walk to the village centre and to the quay for boat trips to the islands - we did the CMA trip to all 3 islands promoted by the hotel and would recommend it.
The lifts aren't very clever so you often wait a long time, start off in the wrong direction, visit lots of floors where nobody is waiting, often including the one where you started, before getting to the floor you want. The one to the sports club is particularly bad for this

In a few words — a very elegant property! The rooms and public areas are beautifully furnished and presented, the manicured gardens are gorgeous and the included breakfast is a feast. The location and views this hotel has to offer of Lake Maggiore are breathtaking. I also thought the room rates for a solo traveler were quite reasonable compared to other nearby hotels in Stresa of similar standard. The staff were attentive, welcoming and courteous (except perhaps for one receptionist who seemed a bit overwhelmed and officious upon check-in). My special compliments to Frederico, however, who made everything right. He went above and beyond!
This could be a five-star hotel if a few additional amenities were included, such as international electrical outlets and/or adapters for modern electronic devices, updated and faster elevators, and a staircase on which to walk up and down safely. That is, the grand staircase was beautifully decorated with colorful bouquets of flowers but, as a result, did not provide access to the safety railing for a number of the lower steps. I nearly lost my balance toting my carry-on luggage down the steps.

Love that this palatial hotel has an authentic Italian charm, is regal, has a beautiful lobby with a wow factor-stunning chandelier and a grand staircase and very nicely decorated dining restaurant, breakfast room, and bar. The room is also very well decorated in the same Italianate palatial style with lovely wallcovering, chandelier and furniture, and a balcony with a stunning view of the Lago Maggiore looking onto Isola Bella. However when the beautiful red bedspread was removed it was a bit of a let down because the frame of the bed is like a dormitory bed but was comfortable. The property felt secure with its huge security gates at the back entrance and the undercover carpark was well lit and very well designed providing a side entrance door which leads to the reception area through a lovely corridor which was a huge plus during the rainy days.
The rooms are not provided with complimentary bottles of water. We have to personally go down to the bar at the lobby to get a pot of water and bring it up to the room daily. Kettle was also not provided in the room nor available.

The breakfast was wonderful It was self service with a great selection of foods It was very clean and the tables cleared instantly when a person had finished The staff were very good particularly the elfin haired female waitress as she was very pleasant with a lovely smile
The hotel towels were very thin and not fluffy and luxurious as expected but the robe was lovely There was only one receptionist who was polite and friendly the rest were very Curt and abrupt with no smile Having to pay to just open the mini bar fridge was ridiculous - that was without even drinking from it!! Even if you touched a bottle and slightly moved it you would have to pay - absolutely stupid!

Regina Palace is a beautiful, art nouveau hotel, it’s like stepping back in time with lovely antique furniture and grand chandeliers. Its position overlooking the lake is perfect. We walked to and from the hotel from the train station which is a straightforward route, 600 metres away. On early arrival (to store our luggage) we were extremely pleased and grateful for an early check in and also a room upgrade to an elegant lake view room with a balcony and view. Our room was enormous, extremely clean, with both a bath and shower. All the staff were extremely pleasant and very happy to assist. The breakfast is simply amazing and the location is superb, we sat looking out onto the lake which was perfect. The wellness area, grotto and pool was beautifully warm and so relaxing. We had a perfect stay and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending and returning for a longer stay.

Beautiful Italian style hotel where the saying 'less is more', certainly does not apply. It is opulent in places. Breakfast was excellent and the terrace a beautiful setting. Aperitivo with our evening cocktails was like a 3 course meal! Position of hotel could not be better and very dog-friendly. Parking so convenient.
Not a lot really. Wish we could have afforded a lake view room. Area outside lift on our floor was a service area with laundry baskets, and some maybe store rooms with run down decoration. Also, the lifts were madly slow arriving.

This was our second time at the hotel and we were as pleased during this visit as our first. The staff is professional and welcoming. We particularly enjoy using the pool and found it still as enjoyable. Compliments to Fabio and his staff for maintaining the quality of the pool and the grill restaurant. The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was geared to many types of breakfast tastes (Italian, Swiss, German and British).
I did not find anything to dislike.

Both pools were well maintained and not very crowded. There is a wonderful Grill near the pool which is excellent for lunch. Fabio and his staff did an excellent job with the pool and grill areas. The breakfast was ample and beautifully presented. There was a wide selection to suit the many different nationalities in the hotel. Staff from reception to breakfast room to pool were very cordial and welcoming. We had an aperativo in the bar and it was like being in another period. Beautiful Belle Epoque furniture and wonderful cocktails. Room was comfortable and immaculate.
