The location is so convenient for doing anything in Cantania. 3mins walk to the bus station. 8 mins walk to the monastery. 3mins walk to the elephant square. Lots of good restaurants just underneath. It’s also very close to the fish markets which is interesting to explore. The setups of the rooms are creative, we have three balconies in our room. The room is very clean. The breakfast is wonderful and substantial. The view from the top roof terrace bar is wonderful. Staff Valentina and Sara have been super patient and helpful with everything. The staffs all speak very good English.

It’s not very easy to get bottled water to drink.

A real surprise. Beautiful building with original features. The hotel is full of very interesting modern art. We had breakfast in the beautiful terrace full of plants overlooking a square. The brekfast was very good and nicely presented. The room was big and confortable as it was the bathroom. The location was good, walking distance to the places of interest. It could be a little bit noisy as there were many restaurants and bars near by, which it was also handy. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, given advice on places to visit. We booked an excursion to mount Etna through them. The hotel itself was one of the highlights of our trip to Catania.

This hotel ranks among the 10 top best hotels that I’ve ever experienced. The property is unique with its historical features and modern art work, yet completely modernized on the interior. You are staying in a renovated palace and on every floor, there is a sitting area and a wide variety of teas and coffee for you to enjoy. Every floor and every room has its own unique charm and characteristics. The bed was plush, bathroom swanky and they offer a superb breakfast. The rooftop lounge is a perfect way to relax after exploring the city. The staff and service are excellent.

Nothing except I wished I could’ve stayed longer.

The location of the hotel in the historical center of Catania is excellent. Many attractions within walking distance. There is a fish market and many great restaurants near the hotel. Of course, the abundance of restaurants and bars in the area also means that some light sleepers may find it a bit difficult to fall asleep at night. The recommendation is to enjoy the nightlife yourself, then sleep comes quickly. The hotel's rooms and common areas are spacious and furnished with historical furniture and modern art, creating a wonderful environment. The hotel staff is very polite, friendly, responsive and welcoming. Breakfast, with a touch of local cuisine, is fresh and tasty. Breakfast is served to each table separately, which may be unfamiliar at first for those who prefer a buffet. But the selection and quantities are decent and we never managed to eat everything served. In summary - Asmundo di Gisira was a unique experience!

Nothing bothered.

The Breakfast was thoughtfully laid out - similar to a High Tea, although the hot food options were limited, being presented with different options each day were brilliant. The rooms were meticulously cleaned each day. Access to free tea, liqueurs and a variety of marshmallows and biscotti were great. The art work and decor of all spaces were well executed. The staff were all helpful, polite and happy to help with anything we asked. The room had an excellent en-suite, fridge, hairdryer, gowns, slippers, as described in the description. The roof terrace is worth a view - great view of Mt Etna in the distance.

Tiny criticism - as we're from the UK and drink a lot of tea (rather than coffee), a kettle in the bedroom would have been great. Also - and this is more down to Booking.com, the instructions on how to enter the premises on first arrival would have been helpful as with many places in Catania, the entrance is not obvious and there is a fairy small button to press to gain access to the secure entry...

Location - excellent Staff - amazing: very friendly and helpful especially Danni and Valentina Breakfast - was on the Veranda and was beautiful and our dietary requirements were very well catered for Building - beautiful palazzo architecture with an amazing collection of contemporary art.

Our room was very large but had low ceilings in parts and only ceiling windows so it was a little dark and the bed was extremely firm which I do appreciate is down to personal taste. Our room was right next to the communal rooftop terrace which was hardly used when we were there but I imagine could get noisy in the evenings when busy.

So much. Firstly the staff are absolutely fantastic. They can’t do enough for you. The service is professional, slick, warm and personal yet in no way intrusive. The structure itself is very impressive - modernised to ensure absolute comfort whilst retaining the charm of a historic palazzo. The ample rooms are furnished to a high standard, with very comfortable beds, high quality linen and toiletries. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the Centro Storico.

The only suggestion I’d make is to provide free coffee in the rooms, rather than charging for it.

Stunning architectural piece and design hotel! Very comfortable beds and big bright rooms. Amazing breakfast location and staff - despite generally serving the common sweet Italian breakfast (that was anyway richer than usual at Asmundo di Gisira), the staff was very accommodating and prepared us omelet and scrambled eggs as well.

The noise from the street - though there's nothing that the property can do, the building doesn't allow other type of windows and the location is super central, so obviously there will be restaurants and bars around which are open until late. The hotel staff could me more proactive with giving tips and advice about what to do in Catania and around.

This is the place to stay in Catania. Part hotel, part art gallery, it is hard to explain it but at every turn there is something else to see and admire. We had two rooms and both were wonderful, with comfy beds, which wasn't often the case in our month long travels within Italy. They also provided an excellent breakfast, set in either the wonderful breakfast room or the terrace. We'd definitely go back!

We had a little difficulty initially finding the front door, but that seemed to be the case in quite a few places and not a criticism.

I have to say the most amazing property. The art and decor are really a feast for the eyes. I wish I had a few days just to really take in the boutique art hotel. My wife and I stayed in the Travelers Suite. It was palatial! The staff was also amazing, and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. I think it was my 10th time to Italy, and Catania is by far the Queen of Cool. Going back next year and staying a week there at least!!!

Everything was really wonderful! It was a real treat to stay there. It truly is a special place.
