This delightful family run B & B is the best accommodation we have stayed in during our tour of the UK so far. We were greeted warmly and the hosts made us very welcome. Their children are totally delightful. Our room was large and extremely well appointed and very comfortable. There is also a very comfortable guest sitting room which we made good use of The breakfast was totally delicious and beautifully presented. I was offered a herbal tea I had never tried before and will certainly buy as I enjoyed it so much.
Nothing. Would have liked to stay longer. Will highly recommend them to our friends.

Breakfast and dinner was very good, lots of healthy selections. I appreciated the dinner menu so we didn’t have to drive far to find a restaurant open at night. Loved the patio doors that opened out to a deck., lots of fresh air. Very quiet area as well. The travel guide is beautiful, lots of information about the guest house and the area. Nicest guide we’ve ever seen in a bookings stay. The family was friendly and helpful in planning our day of sightseeing and preparing hot, healthy traditional Scottish & gluten free meals. We enjoyed the littles going out to the chicken coop to collect fresh eggs for breakfast. Nicest family we have ever met in a bed & breakfast. They really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Large shared lounge room was wonderful for games, reading or watching TV. Perfect location for touring on the NC 500. We sure appreciated the hospitality.

I was coming off the evening Pentland Ferry from Orkney and originally had a place booked in Golspie. But I knew I wanted to hike to view the Duncansby Stacks, Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, and the Whaligoe Steps and didn't want to arrive too late at a B&B. Chatted with James, the host at Arcasaid and he was more than willing to accept us for a 10 PM check-in. What a fantastic find! We had booked two rooms (one with the coo and one with the orca) as I was with my wife and two teenaged daughters. Everything was immaculate and the property had a wonderful lounge area too. James made us aware of dinner options before hand, and after having a fantastic breakfast there (best banana pancakes ever!), we regretted not ordering a charcuterie board upon arrival! And as we were eating meal deals from the Dornoch Co-op the next day, we regretted not utilizing their option to pack us a lunch! Seriously, the breakfast was that good. Anyway, James and Kirsty are a lovely family from Birmingham who have a wonderful story, and I wish them the best in their business!
Everything was perfect really.

Very friendly & welcoming hosts, which made a big impact on a wet night after a long delay on my journey. Comfortable & well-decorated room - loved the hielan' coo! Provision of food options in the evening, though I had already eaten & didn't take up the offer. Comprehensive & thoughtful package of information about the accommodation and surrounding area. I liked the small balcony with seating, though since it was wet I didn't use it.
Minor points only: cold breakfast cereal choices were a little limited. Single milk jug shared between all guests! As a contact lens user, I like to have a flat surface near the basin in the bathroom to handle my lenses safely (and also to put toiletries); glass shelf above the basin is not enough. I didn't really use the residents lounge, but I think I'd have found the very dark decor a bit gloomy if sitting there for any time.

Acarsaid is a lovely place to stay along the east coast of Caithness. We stayed two nights and were amazed at how much there is to do around the area. The hosts were very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. James and Kirsty greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home - like part of the family. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and filling. They even offered a really nice dinner that guests could order ahead. This was a huge help since we were arriving late. Best of all, the hosts were so friendly and helpful, always looking out for us to ensure our stay was great!
Loved it all!

James and Kirsty made us feel extremely welcome as soon as we arrived. As we were arriving later in the evening, we pre-ordered dinner and it was ready for us to enjoy about half an hour after arrival so we had time to settle into our room. It was absolutely delicious, the portions were huge and the mixed bean chilli was incredible, so flavourful and hearty! The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was extremely comfy, lovely bathroom with powerful, hot shower and oat milk available at the tea and coffee station. Huge selection offered for breakfast and again we were treated to huge portions to set us up for the day's long drive home afterwards. All in all we loved our stay and will definitely be back again!

What a great place to stay on the NC500! Was only a one night stopover but the hosts James and Kirsty could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible…. they make you feel part of their young family for a few hours. Great location / great room and really great food! A B&B with a pool table, evening meals and a drinks licence is a bonus but the quality of the food, beers and wines on offer was fabulous… we had the charcuterie board and Kirsty took time to explain the origin of all the locally sourced produce which was a really nice touch. Breakfast was equally excellent. Overall a brilliant place to stay. We wish them all success in their B&B venture and hope to stay there again if we’re ever up that way!!!

We had a wonderful two night stay in an exceptionally beautiful B&B, in a themed double room with it's own balcony and outstanding modern en suite. James & Kirsty were fantastic hosts and really friendly and attentive. We were blessed as they offered a very comprehensive menu of 'hot' evening meals for guests as well as bar drinks. We can vouch for the 'mince & tatties with seasonal veg' and 'special burger', extremely reasonably priced too. Breakfast was delicious too with their own eggs and plenty of options. Kirsty very kindly prepared us breakfast sandwiches for our long trip home a bit earlier than usual which was so kind of her. There was a guest lounge with comfortable seating and a pool table and other board games available too. No hesitation in recommending this B&B to anyone, it really was outstanding! 😊

James and Kirsty are a lovely welcoming couple, who do all they can to make your stay happy. They are keen to share their love of the area and provide suggestions on things to do. The decor throughout is lovely. A bonus for us was watching the wild rabbits and the chickens that provide the eggs for breakfast. It was very nice to have use of the lounge with table, mini pool table and TV sitting area.We ate in and really enjoyed the home cooking, choosing the lasagne and burger. After a good night's sleep we enjoyed our breakfast. Again locally sourced ingredients are used.

The couple who owns this B&B know how to make their guests feel welcome. So very friendly. They also had good knowledge of the area, which we very much appreciated. The room was very comfortable with everything we could need. Very tasty breakfast options and they also offer dinner selections, which we took advantage of the first day of our stay. Also delicious. We were a bit sad to leave. Added bonus were the high fives and fist pumps from their younger daughter. We wish them much success in the future.
Can't think of a thing.
