I only needed a starting point before embarking on the John O’ Groats trail the next day. As such, it’s very well located and was among the cheaper accommodation available in the area. My single room was plenty big enough and the host offers plenty of refreshments and a generous selection of cookies. I asked for breakfast at 0730h and my cooked breakfast was served at precisely 0730h. Perfect when you need to get away on time to get the fabled bus from Wick to JoG!
I’d selected a room with a separate bathroom (which was reserved for my use only) across the landing. This was a minor inconvenience. However the bathroom was large and the shower was excellent with piping hot water and good pressure.

Friendly welcome after a long drive. Generous tea, coffee and biscuits and Tassimo coffee pod machine. Good view of harbour from window and great freshly cooked breakfast delivered to room in morning, with veggies being catered for. Breakfasts are 0730-0900 so great if you need an early start for work. (They offered to do earlier) Easy parking and really good value for money.
Room and dedicated external bathroom generally clean but the bathroom extractor fan and towel stand could do with a quick clean as fairly dusty. However minor niggle. This isn’t a luxury B&B but great for a couple of days and good value at about £52 a night, hence ‘9’. Would book again!

Looks can be deceiving, don't be put off from the look of the front door. Behind here is a Tardis of a building with wonderful people who know how to look after you. There are quite a few stairs but the view we had over the harbour and the quality of the night's sleep was amazing. Breakfast brough to your room in the morning was hot, tasty and the best scrambled eggs ever. If you are wanting 5* then look elsewhere but if you are wanting excellent service at a good price from a good old traditional B&B then look no further.

The breakfast was excellent, very filling and served to our room (facility doesn't have a large space for serving breakfast) - this was quite nice and intimate and the personal service appreciated. Staff very friendly, informative, helpful and accommodating. Building has lots of character.
Rooms are all on an upper floor necessitating a climb up a couple of flights of stairs. However, we were forewarned of this but forgot the information so this is a not a complaint. Plus the owner carried our suitcases to our room, which was much appreciated.

The owners were super nice and provided great information. Choosing the breakfast the night before and having it delivered to our room was really good (and good food!). Bed was comfy, room was fine overall and the view lovely.
Breakfast table in our room was small and needed TLC. We had to move the table and chairs so that we could both eat the lovely breakfast. Carpets needed deep cleaning, bathroom didn’t feel clean (toothpaste left on the shelf and the shower stall didn’t look clean). Paint refresh would be good, too.

An interesting stay which exceeded our expectations. We only stayed for one night and arrived later than expected so we cannot really comment on the appropriateness of the location for Wick but we were within walking distance of the restaurant we had booked. Don't be fooled by the outside of the accommodation as once in our room we had all the amenities we required plus a few extra touches plus a nice view of the harbour (we were in room 2). The bed was very comfortable, the room clean and the arrival of our very substantial breakfast delivered by the owner to our room was a quirky treat. The host and his daughter were very friendly and the whole stay represented very good value for money.

The bed was very clean and comfortable, the towels were clean and white, the breakfast was nice and piping hot even although it was delivered to our room as no restaurant, the staff were welcoming and helpful.
The whole place needed a deep clean and painted, the metal shelf’s in the shower need removed as all rusty and the reception area was very dusty and untidy

Location was good, having an interesting view over the harbour. Breakfast and in room provisions were excellent.
The blinds collapsed despite my host indicating that they had been mended and she said I would have to open them very carefully. The room was far too hot apparently due to a previous guest having overridden the thermostat. Both these things I felt should have been sorted before the next guest arrived, especially as it was the beginning of the new season.

Brilliant hosts, warm welcome, comfortable bed, very good breakfast, excellent price, good location.
The Harbour House needs a bit of care when it comes to cleaning. The bathroom floor was dirty, the windows in my room needed a clean, the kettle, coffee machine, and breakfast hotplate all really needed a good clean and polish, even the entry porch. If the owners could focus on this aspect, they could quite easily put their prices up as its a good building, with good rooms, in a great little spot.

There for just one night having delivered a car to the area from London.Arrived tired just needing to eat and sleep. Friendly greeting without being OTT ,shown room and breakfast ordered job done.Room was warm and comfortable if a little tired but everything needed was there and more than expected for the price to be fair. Having had good nights sleep enjoyed great breakfast and owner even delivered me to local airport for journey back to the south.Doesn’t get better than that in my experience.
Comments on here about bein old and dated??… yea it’s no Premier Inn but then again they’re not always spot on .Unlikely same sort of job will come up but would definitely stay again
