The site has two luxury pods well situated just off the NC500 in Lybster. Usefully, they offer one night stays which is perfect if you’re doing the route. We had a very comfortable one night stay in the Whaligoe pod. It is really well designed, with a luxury shower room and loo, and a very useable kitchen space, with basic kitchen implements: I was able to prepare an omelette. The double bed was spacious, and the clever use of mirrors and wall spaces made the pod seem quite big. It was a couple of miles yomp to Lybster Harbour which we did in the evening. We were blessed with fantastic weather and saw a magnificent sunset, and the owner says she has seen the northern lights on occasion. The owner herself was lovely and welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would thoroughly recommend these pods if you’re doing the NC500. It wasn’t the cheapest but it was one of the best we’ve come across so far (and we’ve done a few).

No wi-fi, but this wasn’t an issue because there was 4G and we were able to buy more data.

AMAZING! can’t wait wait to stay again, the lady who owns the pods was so helpful and so kind. We got there it was sunny, we wanted to have bbq. We got one form her and even got told where to get local meat from a shop just 8/10 minutes away! These have been by far the best pods me and my wife have stayed in! Lovely little games out the back all hand made and crafted! The pod was very well equipped and if it didn’t have it I can assure you the owner would make sure she could get it for you! So friendly so helpful! Great location and so nice and quiet and peaceful ! MUST STAY HERE!!!!

This pod is unreal! There is absolutely nothing to not like!! Modern, fresh and absolutely spotlessly clean!

Everything about this property was wonderful. Our host, Maggie even popped by to say hello and to check we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He even put milk in the fridge for our arrival. This pod didn’t have an oven, but honestly it was the best Glamping pod I’ve stayed in (and I’ve been Glamping for a few years now). Would definitely book again if we ever make it back to Scotland. Location-wise, it was perfect for our stop along the NC500.

Can’t complain about anything!

Very nice place and the hostess was 5* . Last minute booking after a bad experience at another place, arrived here to a very friendly hostess and a super clean and tidy place with everything we'd need. Fresh milk, coffee, cereals and some nice touch playing card. Thanks for the stay, it was a really nice experience! Will recommend delicious shortbread

With an added hot tub this pod would be the perfect experience for the money. Think the price could be slightly lower (when in comparison with similar pods with hot tubs)

The pod was furnished to a high standard with an exceptional level of cleanliness, Maggie really has thought of everything the little finishing touches make all the difference. The actual setting for the pods is well thought out with decked area and fire pit.

I can honestly say I can’t think of any improvements.

This was a great stay - Maggie the host sent clear instructions beforehand and it was clearly signposted. The pod itself was lovely and there was extra touches such as milk and cereal and guide with additional information! Cannot fault anything- thank you for a lovely stay! The local area had a shop and a pub down the road - there is also an electric car charger which was easy to use (unlike some - just tap your card). To note as I wasn’t aware there is a hob in the pod to use for cooking - we didn’t realise so could have utilised that more!

Nothing - everything was great!!

Lybster is a wonderful place with so many options - sea cliffs are full of life and history artefact were everywhere. The accomodation was beatiful, the host was super kind and helpful - the outside sitting area was a great bonus. We would love to come back one day.

We stayed as a 3 generation family over the two pods. The pods were very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the outside area was flawless. We had a bbq (disposable) outside and the kids toasted marshmallows on the fire pit. Thank you Maggie, we do intend to be back.

Great location, very easy to get to. Maggie is a very welcoming host making you feel at home straight away. Facilities, Cleanliness and all the extra little details are perfect. The pod itself is extremely spacious and very comfortable, couldn't ask for more. Perfect ending to our trip away. If we are ever back up this way again we will be back.

Maggie was a great host. Regular communication to ensure our stay was catered for. The pod was perfect, every thing you could possibly need was thought about. The intimate touches of the place made it that more special. We loved the outside BBQ area and tic-tac-toe. Fabulous stay!!
