Thank you heaps for looking after my family . We stayed just one night with our kid before visiting family nearby. Arrived late from Canberra and were kindly upgraded to a Hillview room — much appreciated! Unfortunately, I lost my brand new phone somewhere on the way to the room (a few steps uphill). It was dark, rainy, and super stressful. The manager and a lady helped me search for over an hour — and they actually found it in a small hole near the path if you can see the photo I uploaded. THANK GOD,UNBELIEVABLE.That phone had everything in it. You guys seriously saved my day. Massive thanks!

Maybe need more light on the way uphill to the room.

On arrival they upgraded our room which was lovely and we very much appreciated. The staff were friendly. We were very close to public transport which made it easy to get around and see more of Melbourne. The bed was very comfortable and there was a large double shower and even a spa.

They could provide more kitchen items. It made it difficult to prepare your own meals. There were no bowls, only 1spoon and 1 fork and no plug for the sink or teatowel to dry up dishes. Other than that they provided microwave and small oven and hotplates, tea and coffee and milk, toaster etc.

Amazing service. Actually stayed here once before . This time I arrived pretty late at 10 pm. Called earlier cause too worried no one would be at reception - to my surprise, the manager waited until then. Such a warm welcome! Even better, the heater was already on when i got in , which made the whole room feel cozy right away on a chilly night. Facilities are basic but has everthing i needed for a restful night was all in there. Thank you for making a cold night so warm.

Need clearer signs at carpark .

Honestly, I don’t get the nitpicking. This is a straightforward hotel, not a five-star luxury chain. For the price, I got exactly what I needed — clean room, comfy bed, hot shower, friendly staff. Value for money, job done. Why do some folks complain about every little thing? Mate, think about what you paid — and what more were you expecting?

The garden could use a tidy-up. That’d lift the place.

Thanks for letting me check in early – really helped me get changed for the wedding. That break meant the world to me. The place was super close to the wedding venue, easy to get to and from. We got back pretty late, crashed for a few hours, and hit the road. Honestly, what more do you need?

If there was breakfast available , that would’ve been perfect.

Second day here . It’s been a while. Came back mainly cause the location is super handy . Close to everything I need and just around the corner from my mom, so it works out really well. Room pretty much the same as last time. Hot water’s great , firm mattress well supports my back .

Some furnitures are a bit tired. Nothing else .

Arrived late and exhausted, lights and heater were already on in the room — such a thoughtful touch. Later needed urgent docs printed and they sorted it straight away. Genuine hospitality

The place is a bit older and walls are a bit thin, but honestly, the service more than made up for it. Still a solid 10/10 from me.

Room and bed was amazing, I was comfortable so was my parents

Only issue was the room has a hole with a stuffed flannel inside not good if your advertising it for customers either than that it was amazing we didn’t check the Kitchenette as we were only there for a night. Customer service was amazing

I love staying at Eltham Gateway. This was my second visit. The location is great and it’s accessible enough to bus stops and if you don’t mind a short walk, you can even make it to a cute little spot where they have cafes.

It would have been nice if this room was properly stocked with the right amount of spoons/forks/knives for the guests but I’m sure if you asked them they would accomodate. I just didn’t want to bother them since it was minor for me.

Reception good, friendly staff. Room dated but comfortable. Nice to see crockery and cutlery in the room. Beds comfortable. A quiet room. Night light comes on when going up path to rooms. 3 year old loved seeing the rabbits in the morning as they ran around in the paddock nearby.

My family and friends thought we got good value here.
