Staff were wonderful. Food was nom nom. (I’m sure I’ve put on weight) I would recommend the steak. The room was comfy and clean. You only had to ask for something and the staff went out of their way to help you. We are Gluten free and that was no problem for them. If you tell them you have an allergy they helped you out there too. The place felt warm and comfortable welcoming too.

I found that too many stairs to rooms. However only one flight of stairs to our room. So if your disability doesn’t allow you to climb stairs then unfortunately you would find this difficult. However the staff accommodate me Very well with this problem.

Nicely appointed, clean warm rooms with all the usual facilities. Staff, very welcoming and efficient. Nice food in the restaurant and easy checking out drop box. There is some parking in the street opposite but this is limited to one hour Mon-Sat, otherwise parking is in the public car park nearby. We came on a Sunday so parked for free in the street so no complaints about that either. Looks like there are a variety of pubs and restaurants etc. nearby if you need variety, but the restaurant at Foundry 34 serves very nice food.

This hotel is lovely and the rooms are lovely and clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows, good shower and also has, hairdryer, ironing board, kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a tv in the room with Freeview or Netflix etc and you can also cast from your phone too. Heating system was easily turned on or off as needed and towels were very good quality and size. The location is great as it's right in the centre of Penrith, close to all shops and amenities, with a bus station right opposite and only a short walk from the train station. We originally booked to go to a nearby festival, but as it got cancelled we still decided to stay in Penrith, and we also hopped on some trains and visited Kendal too. We were nicely surprised to learn that the room included breakfast, which had a wide choice including a full English, and the hotel has a bar and restaurant too. Really decently priced for everything we got, would definitely stay again!

The cleanliness and standard of the room.

Only very minor niggles that wouldn’t stop me staying again. The food was good although I would have preferred more imaginative vegan options. Especially at breakfast. When I arrived (about 4pm with a heavy pack) the hotel wasn’t yet opened and so I had to walk about for a bit. I had travelled far and just needed to rest.

We booked a budget hotel to break the journey home from Scotland and chose Foundry 34. It is budget in cost terms but well above that standard in what you get. Friendly welcome from the very efficient Anthony who also runs the excellent restaurant and bar downstairs. Decent sized room (larger than the Travelodge than we stayed in in Scotland the previous week), comfortable bed, shower with a door not a curtain, good towels, free parking just outside (time limited) but pay and display nearby. Excellent breakfast that we were amazed was included in the very reasonable cost. Highly recommend the restaurant which is gastro-pub quality but very reasonably priced. No wonder non-residents dine there too. Great location in the centre of Penrith.

Nothing that they could improve on and still be a budget hotel. All staff were friendly.

Our room was very clean and tidy with good ventilation. Both the evening meal and breakfast were very good in both quantity and promptness of service. The staff were extremely friendly and were able to give excellent advice on helping us with finding a specific location.

On returning to our room later in the evening, we noticed a strange noise coming from the side of the room -after calling for help the problem could not be resolved so the noise continued all night. Along with this noise we were very disturbed by gangs of youths shouting and swearing in the street which went on till 3am in the morning-although the police were involved they were unable to stop the disturbance-we are not blaming the hotel-it is just unfortunate that the hotel is in that particular area.The shower floor may need mats as the floor could become slippery.

Perfect location and food was great

The tap in the en-suite was the wrong way around you should move the lever to the right for cold and left for hot this tap was incorrectly plumbed ,there was a extractor fan constantly running all the time and lastly the smell of cooking was a bit off putting and the blind in the bedroom was thick with dust .i travel a lot with work and notice these things.if you sort these small issues you would have a first class place to stay .

Excellent location, very clean and comfortable. Really good facilities especially the Air Con as the weather was hot. All the staff were friendly and thoughtful and the evening meals were exceptional. We intend to return soon, I hope!

Bottled water from the bar was a bit pricey and charged extra for a latte coffee but was informed prior to purchasing so wasn't really a problem.

Great little find! room was a good size with everything required and a comfy bed, no noise could be heard even though there is a restaurant downstairs which can be very busy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate and drank here also and the food and drinks were great. This is definitely somewhere we will return to.

There isn't any onsite parking however this is mentioned when booking there are however a few long stay car parks very close by.

Food - it was lovely and as a coeliac needing gluten free there was no problem at all. Room - cracking shower where the head wasn't fixed to the wall. I like this as I feel I can wash more hygienically.

Nothing - it was the hottest day in April so any grumble I had was linked to the weather and not the facilities but there was a freestanding fan that had been made available.
