This place exceeded our expectations. It's a fair price for the area, the bedroom was comfortable, the basin in the bedroom very convenient and having the WC separate from the showers was great. I'd never booked a room with shared bathroom and the experience was perfect. The kitchen and dining room were the best part, I'd read in comments it was well equipped but I couldn't imagine...when we got there other guests were cooking as they might have done at home, nothing was missing! And the dinning room is very comfy. I'd return, no doubt.
One of the toilets got a bit dirty but that's more to do with the particular guests than lack of cleanliness. And sound insulation could be better (I'd worry if you have loud neighbours-guests) but it wasn't alarming either, no sound awoke us, we simply could hear footsteps from the corridor.

Perfectly placed close to Vík and almost next to the famous beach Reynisfjara. Large space in the common area. Plenty of parking space for our car. Very good that outdoor shoes are not allowed worn inside.
The sound proofing between the rooms was not good at all. A large Chinese group were staying there the first night we were there. The Chinese family next door were still on their native time zone and their children were still happily and very noisily playing at max intensity after midnight making it impossible for my family to go to sleep. In addition the Chinese group stole our food from the refrigerator next morning. Of course, this is not Guesthouse Reynir's fault, but if you are sensitive to noise this place might not be what you seek.

Comfortable room and beds, nothing fancy but everything you might need including towels, coffe and tea, a fully equipped kitchen and a sink in the room. The area is quiet and the blinds are efficient in blocking the midnight light during summer. The bathrooms are shared but they were always very clean.

The location is absolutely superb and close to the main attractions of the area. Simple but super clean accommodation with a very well equiped kitchen and common area for self catering. Excellent value for money. Quiet and comfortable and the rooms on the coastal side have a spectacular view.
Nothing to dislike, but we booked a room advertised as having a bathroom. It actually only had a toilet and basin and we needed to use the common showers. They are very clean and we didn't mind using them, but felt it wasn't exactly as described on the listing.

The location was close to Vik (less than 10 mins by car) but especially to the Black Sand Beach. From our room we had a fantastic view towards Dyrhólaey. The rooms were clean and quite. We were also pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was pretty warm inside the entire facility, despite all the frosty wind outside. There were 2 shared toilettes and 4 shared standing showers, so we never had to wait for our turn. There were also 2 separate ovens, so different people could cook in parallel.
Not that much space in the fridge. It looked like just one isn't enough at peak occupancy.

We had a great stay at Guest House Reynir. Although we were initially skeptical about shared accommodation, we were pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was, especially the well-equipped kitchen. The staff was kind enough to provide a crib for our baby upon request, which was much appreciated. The view from our room was beautiful, and we enjoyed watching the sunset from there. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we highly recommend this place.

This was the most amazing hostels I have ever stayed in! Most surreal experience staying here. The communal area was beautiful with big windows onto the mountains and snow that surrounded it. Perfect for northern light watching. The facilities were great and it had such a homely feel to it. The owner was also so so friendly and came immediately when i had an inquiry about the rooms. Amazing location as it’s just outside Vik and 3minute drive away from the famous black sand beach. I would highly recommend staying here.

Check in was simple. Room was great - clean, comfy and a beautiful view to the nature reserve. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner. Shower rooms were perfect. Takk
We switched the beds around to see the view out the windows. A little awkward. The mattresses were a little hard for me. That’s it. Would stay there again.

Reynir was exactly what we needed whilst exploring the south coast, easy and clean and right in the middle of everything we wanted to visit. Kitchen facilities are excellent and showers and warm, good pressure and clean.
Beds are slightly lumpy and hard but to be expected with use over the years.

The beds and bedding were comfy. The location to Vik & the nearby beach. Access to full kitchen and an oil/spices. Even though the accommodation had shared bathrooms and toilets the bedrooms had a sink.
One of the shower drains was blocked up. A lot of guests just washed their dishes and left them on the bench.
