I pretty enjoyed and highly recommended this hotel. The location is perfect. It is just next to the main bus station, and very closed to the city centre. Besides, the best thing to me is the hot spring in the hotel. Visitors can enjoy the hot spring with good and relaxing atmosphere after traveling everyday. It is also a good idea that the hotel cooperates with bookstore. You can read famous comic books in the hotel. It is really a good idea to save the business. It is a pity that I did not try the breakfast this visit. And i believe i will try your breakfast when i visit you next time.

The hotel may be a refurbished hotel? The soundproof is not pretty good and i can hear visitors' activities next to my room. But generally speaking, it is still OK to me.

Not my first time staying in Dormy Inn, I stayed in the one in Mishima prior, so I know what standards the rooms are, the onsen is, and how good the breakfast is. I enjoyed my stay in Dormy Inn Kumamoto, it's walkable to the Kumamoto Castle and one of the shopping districts that connect to the Shimotori Shopping District. Onsen is nice as usual!

Parking at the property is quite limited, and the Pasuto 24 was quite narrow to drive in. Furthermore, there was an event on one of the days, leading to many parking in the vicinity being full.

The onsen was exceptional. Really nice. The extras Dormy provides like the free evening ice cream and late night ramen were great, although we didn’t make it down for the ramen on this visit. The location was fantastic. It’s walking distance to the Kumamoto Castle and close to a mall and tram stops.

The staff as a little less friendly than at other Dormy locations but that may be because fewer spoke English and there were fewer international visitors.

Onsen with follow of a light meal (ice-cream/ yogurt) at the top of the building was great. Ramen is also available for free during the night. Breakfast is variety.

Limited parking space, once it's full, you would be recommended to park in the opposite building (2 min walk) with the same parking fee at JPY 1,200.- Room is too small and elevators are always crowded (guest going up/down all the time)

Close proximity to Shimitori and Kamitori shopping street. Also like the refreshment (ice-cream, yakult) after onsen as well as the complimentary bowl of hot ramen. Makes a difference on a rainy night.

Room is relatively small, so will have a problem to fit 2 big luggage. Paid parking of 1,200 yen per night. This will go up to 1,500 yen per night on 1 September 2025.

(4) Staff are nice, helpful and polite. (5) No bad smell even we stayed at smoking room. (6) Well located, very convenience to public transportation, restaurants and shopping areas nearby.

A bit expensive in winter.

For those of use who enjoy an onsen this hotel and the others in this chain offer a great onsen in the middle of town. The facilities include a sauna and a cold plunge pool. We enjoyed the onsen facilities so much we went early in the morning, late afternoon and again before bed. Combined with the free ice cream lollies between 15.00 and midnight and you have a winner. We will be basing our next trip around these hotels.

Excellent location very close to all transportation terminals and main shopping centre. Plenty of places to eat and see, only walking distance to the castle. The rooftop hotspring is excellent and I had a full body massage after the spa which was a great treat. Staffs are very helpful and efficient.

The shelves in the room were dusty. The bed is a bit hard for me but I think that's common in Japan.

Conveniently located few minutes walk from the bus terminal and a short walk to Kumamoto Castle. Easy to get to there by airport bus from Fukuoka Airport. My go to chain whenever I stayed in Japan city area as it is value for money. Comes with onsen, free probiotic drinks in morning, popsicle and nightly free ramen. Checking in and out is a breeze.

we took the tram from Kumamoto Station as instructed. it’s the first time we been to Kumamoto, we miss the stop cos the team was crowded. we didn’t know that need to get off in the front, with our big luggage, we follow the crowd get off the next station. luckily, it is not very far from the hotel. about 5 minutes walk, we reached the hotel which is located opposite bus terminal. the room is spacious. with public bath on the top floor. there is massage service which the price is reasonable. free washing machine and dryer in the public bath area, you can do your laundry while enjoy the bath. overall, a good choice
