Staff were lovely, room was very comfortable and clean with good facilities, price of our room was very fair. The location was excellent for our plans for wildlife watching and woodland walks.
I emailed beforehand asking about vegan options for evening dinner and was told that they did have some and to ask the server. However, even after pre-booking a table and specifying there was a vegan in our couple, it appeared to be a surprise to staff and the chef had to put together some stir-fired veg and plain rice which was adequate but very basic and we were charged for the vegetarian option on the menu which I don’t think was fair considering the vegan dish was such a basic one.

The property was Lovely and warm it is a short walk into village plenty of parking to the rear also street parking available They accept dogs for a small extra charge Good selection of drinks behind bar Food in restaurant was 10/10 Room clean and tidy Large bathroom / bath & shower Plenty toiletries Tea/ and coffee pod machine plus a tiny fridge also a hot water bottle if you need it We had a street view from our room
We were in room 5 up a short flight of stairs the door did not lock which is not a good thing these days but I believe it’s getting sorted as I write this The hotel is finding it very difficult to get Staff so you just have to be a wee bit patient at times for service

Staff were very friendly Evening restaurant food and service were very good . The menu range was very good and varied. Room was very clean and facilities functioned as expected
Breakfast food quality good however the service was not very great. It was not the fault of the staff member and she was doing her best . She was on her own doing everything from taking orders , clearing tables, delivering food and restocking the self serve area. Was not a real problem for us but I could hear other guests grumbling. Easily resolved by having another member of staff.

Spacious car park, comfortable room, if up rather more stairs than would be ideal for us now. Tbf this is a relatively new issue for us, we never used to be bothered by a few stairs, but age changes things.
There was a throwaway comment made at reception, as we were checking in, about “new owners” and bills. We didn’t manage to glean whether these were recent new owners, or new owners from midnight or what exactly, but it was a bit odd 🤷♂️ Maybe if we’d gone to the bar we would have found out more. Neither of us felt convinced that the sausage on our “full Scottish” breakfast was completely cooked. The bacon rashers were tepid. Overall a bit of a disappointing brekkie 😕

The manager(?)Jason was very helpful, and responded to the request for a walk in shower as my wife has poor mobility. We were impressed with his manner with all different guests. Dinner was very good with excellent pizza and exceptional lasagne. Breakfast was very good too, and the young woman serving us was great
Sadly the noise from the room next door to us when the occupant was having a shower/bath was very disturbing, and is the only thing that was disappointing

Lovely hotel in the heart of Grantown. The staff were fantastic and friendly with really nice food. Our dogs were made very welcome too which was great. We will visit again when time permits. Highly recommended.
There is only one down side and in no way a criticism....but there were no cosy comfortable sofas or chairs to sit on. All the chairs available seemed to be dining room style chairs. There were two cosy rooms and it would have been lovely if one of them had some where comfy to relax in.

Our welcome was friendly and inviting. The front desk clerk was very helpful and gave us many suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the town. It was a good location for exploring the town and close to the river where my husband came to fish. The room was spacious and clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs and it was delicious.
Mostly everything in the town closed up early.

Great location, massive free car park, very friendly staff. Decent size room. Good powerful shower. Very cosy in whole hotel, especially as it had been snowing and it was below freezing outside.
Although the shower was great, the bracket to move it up and down didnt hold and kept dropping to low point so I had to hold the showerhead to use it (I am a tall guy). It wouldnt put me off coming back.

The staff were excellent and there was ample parking. The hotel was well located for visiting the area. The meals were good. Lots of nice toiletries provided in the rooms.
Very limited choice of menu for a hotel (only 5 main courses to choose from - when you are staying 3 nights that really restricts the choice). The menu remained the same for all 3 nights - there were no specials. The hotel kitchen closed early the first night, (8.20pm), which we were not made aware of until too late, so we were unable to have a dessert. The following night we were given dessert on the house to compensate for this.

Our stay at the Garth Hotel was just for one night on our way up towards Inverness to start the NC500. It was such a lovely stop for us. The room was really spacious and the bed was comfy. We didn't venture into the town but the hotel bar and restaurant were more than enough for what we needed and the food was lovely. It was all really enjoyable and we would happily recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area.
