The house itself was beautiful. Our room had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The location was perfect for walking to a nearby restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We also enjoyed walking to the downtown area.

Our only complaint was that the window door to the balcony would rattle with the wind. The first night, we thought the sound was due to the rocking chairs on the balcony. Our last morning there, I looked and found it was the window door. I think a bit of paper or something could have been wedged in to quiet that for the stay if I had checked sooner. That was my fault. But it didn’t really disturb our sleep because the bed was so comfortable.

We absolutely love the charm and uniqueness of this home. It’s an old Victorian home in Galveston that has been renovated into a six bedroom airbnb. Loved the architecture, quietness of the neighborhood (mostly all Victorian homes that are also airbnbs), self check in (no attendees) and walking distance to downtown and The Strand.

Since it is an old home, walls are somewhat thin so we could hear our neighbors talking when they would come in and out of their room. Not a dealbreaker but something to note.

Love this place for so many reasons. This was my 4th stay and the first with my husband. He loved it. Probably the cleanest, most elegant home we’re stayed in. So quiet and peaceful. The period furniture and decor is so lovely. The kitchen is beautiful and well appointed . We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine at night and our coffee in the morning. The location is also perfect. We will be back!

Excellent stay with excellent location located at the city center, extremely clean & comfortable. Before arrival we received an email from Shannon that made our trip more interesting with her advice & tips about the city, supermarket, shops, restaurants bars are within walking distance. Would recommend The 1890 Freeman House to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again Shannon for going just that little step extra for the guests!!!

This was an absolutely beautiful historic home in a great location. Our second-floor room had a walk thru window leading out on to the balcony. It was the perfect place to sit and drink my coffee looking out to the nearby palm trees and neighborhood, as well as a nice view beyond. The host was warm, welcoming and informative. The location was perfect to the beach, cruise terminals, restaurants, shopping, etc. We will return.

We always have breakfast at the gumbo diner but this trip we also went to millers for breakfast so there’s a couple references last time we stayed in a room up stairs I think I liked the layout of that room more than the Paris room but both are very nice and clean also the communication is great with staff and they always have coffee for you which I love the window that opens is nice and the deck or porch is a great spot to chill read the word and drink some coffee we will be back

The window downstairs did not slide up it might be that it is a lower level room and you can just walk out so they keep locked but the window has a lock as well so I’m not sure if it was stuck or just made to be like that but it would have been nice to be able to open it in the morning and evening

I loved the historical feeling of the house and the setting in a neighborhood. It was a convenient walk to stores, restaurants, etc. Shannon was incredibly helpful and responsive!

Our only suggestion would be to 1) provide caffeine-free coffee in addition to caffeinated versions (many people like coffee but can't do caffeine) and 2), provide artificial sweeteners as alternatives.

We enjoyed the ambience of this beautiful Victorian home. it has been restored well and beautifully taken care of. We arrived a bit early and loved talking to Shannon about the home. The stained glass window and the cozy bedding were my favorite. They had a fan in the closet which was nice to use in the evening. We didn’t hear any guests and felt like we had the whole floor to ourselves.

The steep stairs when you’re old and tired from all the day of walking we had. It honestly wasn’t that bad but would’ve preferred someone to carry me up to my bed.

It is a BEAUTIFUL home in an excellent location. Shannon was extra helpful. Bookings.com didn't send me the email.with all the info I needed to enter the house. She was beyond helpful.

Bookings not sharing my email with the facilty owner. I wouldn't have had to bother her if they would share patrons emails with them.

We loved the home in so many ways! It was beautifully furnished and perfectly located!

But the hot water took so long to come to the showers that my son and his family thought there was no hot water and did not shower, which was a bit uncomfortable for them. You might put up signs that say the hot water takes a long time to get to the showers. THanks!
