This is a very old hotel but has a lot of character that gives it more authenticity. Location is great to the downtown part of Seward near the Sealife center and that area. Staff was accommodating and overall we enjoyed our stay. Definitely a little more authentic character than most hotels.

This is an older hotel with a truly historic section that has rooms without individual bathrooms in the room. We stayed in the newer section but this is still a relatively standard hotel room set up. Building has no AC which is surprising and little uncomfortable as warmer than normal during our visit but typically not a problem with Seward weather. Room was fairly dated and some things worn but nothing major although windows weren't very manageable which would have been helpful given the weather. I would say the staff gave us a great little fan that helped on the warmest day and the sister hotel, Edgewater, across the street seemed a little more modern.

It was a small room backed up on an ally. We did feel a little unsafe in this room being as we were both females. Everything worked out.

I called and spoke with Claire about seeing if she could get us a room for three days so we wouldn't have to move. This call was around a month or so before our arrival. The website would not let me book one room so we ended up in three different rooms having to move everyday. I learned my lesson.

They got me plenty of shampoos and cream rinses.

I just about had an ashma attack trying to get to the desk. I am 76 years old. The girls at the desk saw me but didn't offer help until I got to the desk without my suitcase. Then they told me they saw I was in trouble. They secured my cosmetic bags there. At that point a family member came in and rescued me. Looking for an ear ring I found a shower clog and hair clip under the bed, and tons of dust.

I discovered that a restaurant highly recommended by a friend was located on the same street just two properties down from the hotel. How convenient! We could wait in our room or the lobby until our table was ready. I also enjoyed the hotel restaurant - good food, bar, and great service. Front desk staff were extremely helpful.

We were in the historic wing. Our room had a TV, mini fridge, small coffee maker, and its own sink. The hotel itself was nicely decorated and the historic wing had framed historical pictures and articles. The shared bathroom was clean and well-stocked. We were well within walking distance of the waterfront.

We were there on a few particularly warm days and couldn’t figure out whether we had air conditioning.

An older hotel with a lobby that is full of character. We stayed in the old wing with shared bathrooms, which we had no problem accessing. Room and bathroom were both good size and comfortable. Location is very close to Sealife center and several bars, restaurants, gift shops. Shuttle from railroad was efficient and the staff were lovely. They're really geared up for guests dropping their baggage when the railroad gets in in the morning but check in is 4pm

Given that this is on the affordable end of accommodation in Seward, we really enjoyed our stay. Sprinkler system pipes on the room ceiling etc look rather old fashioned, so if you're all about clean lines maybe this is not for you! There is a bar and restaurant, but other options close by seemed more attractive. Breakfast is available at the sister hotel over the street, but again, we used other options close by.

Very comfortable beds, nicely updated decor, adjustable heat, spacious room. Good shower and coffee maker with good coffee provided. The hotel clerk was friendly and shared the hotel's history with us.

Nothing wrong. No breakfast places nearby were open (March) so that left us a bit hungry. Oh well, snacks in the car.

I loved the pillow-top bed mattress, the cozy classic decor, the historic Seward photographs throughout the hotel, the 24-hour coffee, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the location in the midst of everything in downtown Seward, the fantastic scenery, etc. Also, the complimentary fitness center next to the hotel is wonderful, with a good variety of modern cardio and weight and exercise rooms plus classes

Slight musty smell in the lobby when I first arrived, likely due to the hotel being pretty much not used during the winter. However, the smell rapidly abated once windows were opened and the lobby was aired out.

The location is in the center of the town. It's close to the restaurants and SeaWorld. The lobby area is very unique. We had a room with the view. If you need to clean the room or extra towels, please reach front desk. There is the elevator (it was a surprise).

All was good. This is a historic building, thus the furniture and the inside interior is pretty basic.

This cozy hotel became my home away from home during many weekends last winter while working on my ship in the shipyard. It was so rewarding enjoying weekends off in this exceptional place meeting my high European quality standards. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, beds very comfy and there is the bonus of having wine glasses and ice bucket ready in the room (which is not a standard of many American hotels). The location is perfect especially for those not having car. I can't wait to be back with you guys!

The bar and restaurant I peeked into looked very nice. Would have been nice being able to get a meal and drink there but I fully understand the staff shortage during harsh Alaskan winter. Hopefully next time. Also, modernizing the vending machines might be helpful to many guests as I always ran out of 1ones with my soda addiction! Would be nice being able to pay with a credit card.
