The breakfast was good and the restaurants for dinner was excellent too. Really cute room with plenty of space, and a very short walk from the main plaza and right by one of the tower gates into the city. Location couldn't be better. Very old building decorated in a really fun way.

After the first morning, I should have asked for the fruit and meat/cheese to be kept separate for breakfast (they are all put together on the same plate and wrapped). I'm not a vegetarian but the smell of cold cuts first thing in the morning is just not for me, and I didn't want to eat fruit that was wrapped up with it. That's the only thing I would change and that's getting pretty picky.

Charming accomodation in a very good location in the town. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. Ample parking in the surrounding streets for those driving in.

Noise can travel from neighbouring rooms. We had booked the double bed economy which was a tight squeeze with 2x luggage and furnishings in the room.

The place was so charming! The breakfast was amazing, the room was fantastic, and we had everything we needed. Great location and very friendly staff!

Since we came from out of the country we were not able to make the international call to let the host and hostess know we had arrived, that made checking in a bit challenging.

This was our favorite stay in Germany. It has unique charm at every corner. The hotel staff treated us exceptionally well. We had a suite with a separate sitting room and enormous bathroom. The hotel has an old, like 18th century, inn character while the room was still luxurious and comfortable. Eat dinner at the hotel restaurant. It looked closed when we went for a walk. So we had a really nice meal while we were out. When we got back the vibe was so great, think medieval pub, we squeezed into a corner for some drinks. The food looked and smelled terrific and everyone was enjoying it. Breakfast was delicious and generous. It was served an another space with a slightly more recent country feel. Google maps lead us straight to the hotel. But, it was still a little hard to find in the dark. It is perhaps a 5 minute walk from the large parking outside the city wall. It is a short walk anywhere in the old town. Take some time to walk along the river as well. Enjoy it the town. Enjoy the hotel.

Centrally located in the lovely town of rothenburg. Very romantic looking building. Rooms are clean and comfortable on a quiet side street. Very quiet and pleasant place to sleep. Breakfast was exceptional. Very abundant and tasty fresh products. Lovely!

The style of the room is tailored mostly to an older audience. Not that it’s dated or anything. It’s great in a romantic style way. We personally prefer a more modern style though. But that was clear from the photos already, so not a negative point per se.

This stay was wonderful. Packed tight to the brim with eye candy. The rooms were quaint. It was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and we also enjoyed a dinner in the restaurant in the evening. About a 15-20 walk to the train station and very close to the museums and other points of interest.

It was a little hard to find someone for check in/checkout as they don’t have a traditional set up. It was manageable and not something that should date you from booking. :)

Best breakfast in Germany by far! And we even got offered large lidded food containers to take away what we couldnt eat, to have it for lunch - which is exactly what we did! Hotel in excellent location within medieval walls and only a few minutes walk from plonheim and Market Square. Quirky old world Germany feel hotel which was great to experience. Staff super friendly.

Bed a little uncomfortable. No tea/coffee making in room. A little dark negotiating through downstairs.

Much like Rothenburg ob der Tauber itself, this hotel is a bit like a fairy castle: everywhere you look there is something magical to see. The walls are filled with art, antiques, and sculptures. The room was massive and unique, and absolutely quiet at night even with the windows open. The breakfast, set on tables in the dining room each morning, and served by candle light, was beyond description with the amount and variety of fare available: delicious meats, cheeses, rolls, jams and fresh fruits. We also had dinner there one evening and the food was impeccable, served hot and delicious. The atmosphere truly transports you to another time and place. We would have eaten there again the next night, but sadly, they were not serving that evening. The staff is the greatest asset of this hotel, with all of them helpful and friendly. Of all of our stays on our trip, this is by far our favorite.

I have not complaints. Everything was perfect.

We booked the studio room and it was fantastic. The decor was a bit country-kitsch, but it did actually fit with the charm of the hotel. The room and bathroom were spotlessly cleaned — no neglected dust on high surfaces, and no dirty corners. The breakfast was extremely generous; more than we could actually eat. It was so plentiful, we had to take almost half of it to-go. Everyone that helped us was kind and respectful. The location is less than ten minutes by foot from anywhere you’ll want to go in Rothenburg. I would totally stay here again, and recommend it to all other travelers.

I’d have to nit-pick to find flaws. Screens on the windows would’ve been helpful to keep the summer pests out (some small gnats), but screens aren’t really a thing in Europe so that’s simply a “price of admission” if you’re traveling anywhere here. Washcloths included with the towels would’ve been nice too, but that’s also uncommon here, so… be ready to adapt, etc. The absence of these items in no way hindered our experience.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night and really wish we stayed there longer. We really enjoyed the medieval vibe, cozy setting and wonderful breakfast. It feels like this hotel is transported from the 1800s and that is exactly what I was looking for. The staff were super warm and this hotel is well located. Would 100% recommend staying here and am looking forward to my next trip to this region to stay here again.
