I recently stayed at The Feathers to be close to my mother who was having Palliative care & we were told her passing would be imminent. I informed the hotel that I may need an out of hours check in time which they were told could be anywhere within a 24hr time frame & they couldn’t have been accommodating & compassionate. My mother passed away in the early hours of the morning which meant I arrived at the hotel at 4:30am, the lady I spoke to (Charlie) had arranged for my key to be left out & told me to go straight to bed & she’d sort the paperwork out in the morning which I really appreciated. The next day I had to return unexpectedly to my home in Wales so told the hotel I’d be checking out early & when they heard I was about to make the long strenuous journey home made me a packed lunch & made me a flask of coffee. I’ll be forever grateful for the amazing service The Feathers provided & the care that I received from ALL of the staff I spoke to. Even though I didn’t have the breakfast on this trip I’d stayed at the hotel before whilst visiting my mother in hospital & can say it’s absolutely first class & plentiful. I only had a single room, but it was very clean & had everything I needed especially the tea & coffee making facilities & comfy bed. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough & my only regret is that I can’t remember the names of all of the staff that I encountered & who helped me.

There was nothing to dislike.

From the time we arrived all staff were excellent, helpful, friendly and welcoming Our room (30) was spotless with nice little touches such as the chocolate and biscuits, much appreciated! Lunch was exceptional and fantastic value for money, breakfast was great too and all services came with a smile and very attentive staff…but not too attentive!! Will definitely recommend The Feathers to family and friends should they be heading out your way 😊

The only downside to our stay is that at around 3am we were woken by a LOUD and very aggressive argument from the people staying in the room next to us which left us feeling somewhat concerned but this has no bearing on our stay overall and am sure they woke with very sore heads Sunday morning!

The rooms were extremely comfortable. Very spacious and extremely clean. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

Due to one of the ovens unfortunately breaking the turn around for breakfasts were some what slower than you'd expect. With this said , it's not " what didn't you like " comment and the young lady running around trying to accommodate and apologising was trying her hardest and ensuring customers knew the situation. Once the breakfast arrived it was hot , nice portions and very tasty. This would not stop us from recommending The Feathers.

The Feathers, Wadesmill is in a lovely village location. It is a spacious and well decorated pub / restaurant, with accommodation in a separate block behind the Inn. The pub is lovely, the selection of drinks is very good and the service was excellent. The restaurant was well laid out. We had both dinner and breakfast during our stay, the food was really good quality, fresh and tasty, the menu options extensive, and the service was again excellent. The accommodation was superb - we booked a superior double room and it truly was superior. Well laid out, decor in really good condition and lots of extras that you just wouldn't expect for this great price - full selection of hot & cold drinks plus snacks in the room, good quality soaps etc., in the bathroom and plug sockets everywhere :-) We will definitely look for Chef and Brewer locations when staying elsewhere in the UK.

A lovely setting. The hotel rooms are separate from the restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The facilities in the room were of a good quality and everything worked. It had a good shower in a well maintained bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and good quality food. We had a meal in the restaurant on the evening which again was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall I was very pleased with the stay and look forward to staying there again in the future.

There were no issues all was great.

It was in the right location for a party we were attending

When we arrived we sat outside in beer garden , there was lots of wasps which really spoilt it .Also asked the staff to wipe the tables because they were so dirty & sticky which wasn’t helping with the wasps we suggested to one member of staff to ask management to get burning candles keep wasps away but it fell on deaf ears , it really spoilt our stay .

All the staff very pleasant. Great room in very quiet area of building as requested. Huge bed, very comfortable. Food good and reasonably priced. Good location just off our route and excellent parking, including wheelchair bays.

The shower was over the bath, fine, but the bath was glassy slippery. Maybe supply a proper mat in place rather than just suggesting that one was available from reception. Reception closes quite early… Breakfast excellent but service very slow on the busy Sunday morning.

Comfortable room, efficient and friendly staff. The meal I had (sea bass) was excellent, with good service, and there was a good choice of ales. The breakfast was OK.

A fairly minor point: there was a small puddle on the bathroom floor from either a leaking shower or toilet. This was not created by me! I reported this, but have received no feedback. I would have liked an apology or perhaps even a small amount or compensation as a gesture. Also, the walls are a bit thin, but there isn't a lot you can do about that.

We loved the room, it was clean and comfortable and nice and quiet. Felt like we were in a small cabin in the woods as there were trees and squirrels outside the window. Cute! Staff in restaurant and hotel were lovely!

I was a little put off at breakfast both mornings as the juice glasses, cups, plates were not very clean. Also the 2nd day we were there our room wasn't cleaned and no clean towels for bathing. Had it not been for these 2 points, I would have rated 5 star Excellent!

The room was neat and spotless. I loved that I face the back of the hotel.

The person next door on the Friday was a loud snorer I heard them OVER the tv. On Saturday the same room had a crying baby - I know they can't help it, but perhaps put folks on their own in one building and folks with children in the other ?
