We stayed at the Cock Inn for one night, it was a reunion to catch up with old friends and do a little networking. The pub was busy on Saturday afternoon but we were quickly checked into our room which was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. I had paid via booking.com, as always the communication was excellent and the payment had already been taken. The pub in the evening was very busy with a lively atmosphere, there is a great choice of well kept beers and the food was brilliant and all arrived in good time for our large group. It was a great night out in a typical English pub. Breakfast on Sunday morning lovely with a good choice of cereal, fruit juice etc from the bar. The cooked breakfast is superb, you can change your order to suit your requirements and nothing is too much trouble. The coffee is good and the pot is refilled quickly when you ask.

A lovely, warm and welcoming family-owned pub with rooms attached, with great beer and drinks selection. My room was simple, well equipped, comfortable and spacious, the bathroom being impeccably clean. The breakfasts served each morning were excellent, and delicious. The dinner menu had more than enough variety to provide me for a 4 day stay, and the friendly staff were very helpful in catering for my dietary needs throughout. The Cock Inn Hotel´s own website provides for direct booking, and would have been cheaper than with Booking.com for my stay, but I only found out too late. I am particularly grateful for the reception staff´s efforts, above and beyond the call of duty, to help support my claim for a refund for Price Matching for Booking.com.

A small detail: it would have been perfect to have a small selection of jams also laid out for the warm toast which came with breakfast.

Wonderful quaint hotel in a small town. The locals all gathered in the pub giving it a homey vibe, but the rooms were far away from the busy pub and very quiet. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept on in a long time, definitely a standout! Breakfast was standard English breakfast but you can pick and choose which parts end up on your plate.

The front desk is not staffed 24h per day, which makes sense since it’s a small hotel but presented a problem since I didn’t get in until late. Luckily I called them the day of and they were able to help me get into my room when I arrived. Exceptional customer service and really saved my trip!

I came to The Cock Inn to stay overnight before a course in Harlow on Sunday. I found I was given a lovely room and although at first I was a little worried of noise as it was facing the road...I had a great, restful and quiet night. The staff were lovely and friendly and it was a pleasure to have a light bite in the pub in the evening. The breakfast was superb and if I had wanted the full English, it was possible....a little too copious for me. All in all a great stop off, either for Stanstead or for other purposes in Harlow. This hotel is much much better than staying at an anonymous chain hotel near Stanstead . It is only 15 minutes by car to the airport parking and car returns . The dinner and breakfast are excellent and the service is ver y pleasant . The young lady who served dinner and the more mature breakfast waitress were charming , welcoming and helpful. No breakfast bun fight , everything served at table in a pleasant quiet room and no need to get up and make your coffee from a stupid machine , a nice pot of coffee or tea etc . Very civilised !

Super Break fast and Dinner. Very tasty and it was the best food during our entire 12 day travel. Location has a good neighbor hood. The front yard as well as back yard was good to enjoy the weather with proper garden furniture. If you are family of four, better to book two rooms since 4 bed rooms are tiny and can't accommodate the luggage if you are carrying 4 medium size luggage

room size for 4 bed does not have luggage space.

The accommodation was situated to the side of the Restaurant and Bar and there was no extraneous noise. Although there was a little traffic noise from the main road, I had no trouble sleeping and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and courteous at every point. I enjoyed the breakfast as well as supper in the restaurant the previous evening. The room was clean and I would be happy to stay here again if I was in the area.

Family business all around: friendly, approachable, helpful. Breakfast was great (English, some cereals, yogurts, jam), room was quiet even if next to parking/road (no car driving by night). Couldn't hear any plain whilst inside. The travelling cot was amazing (comfortable, practical, brand new for what we knew). Great matteress, bedding and towels: everything was spotless. The pub and restaurant in the same building (I wore my slippers to go to the breakfast), with good, reasonable and tasty options (beers & food wise).

No black out curtain. We had to ask again for a cot (Booking didn't transfer our request, we should have contact them directly for that). More expansive on Booking.com than on their website directly.

We had a lovely one night stay at The Cock Inn Hotel and we hope to come back again . The location is easy access to M11. It is an alternative place to stay than inner London areas that would suit us as it is on our route to home. Our room was spacious, which we really liked. The hotel staff were friendly. We had English breakfast, which was nicely cooked - non greasy. Overall, it was good value for money.

This place is a hidden gem. The room was large and basic, with everything that we needed. Very clean, comfy beds, lots of extra pillows. The room had an iron and ironing board, which was very useful, expecially if your there for business. The bathroom was great with a bath and constant hot water. The bar connected to the rooms, was very nice, with a log fire, a great selection of drinks and very taste food, and the breakfast was excellent. A full English with the best sausages I have had for a long time. I need to know what they are. The best part of this place is the staff. I highly recommend this, expecially if your there for business.
