It’s nice, and a good place to stay if you like golf. Pretty place, lovely setting and very smart overall.

My comfort and room (which was clean and very smart) was ruined by the noise from the fitness centre. Gym music and instructor shouting from 7am. Reception staff were casual to the point of being rude, completely unselfaware, clearly badly trained or unsupervised. I’m really not that fussy, but I know what bad is. Other staff during the day were good, but the first impression is created by the reception staff, and it was like any one turning up was just fodder. Same treatment for everyone in the queue. When I asked if I could leave my room an hour later than usual, you’d have thought I’d asked for a kidney

No aircon in the room (bridal suite!) Disappointed in the toiletries provided Bought a decent bottle of wine at dinner, no ice bucket, didn't get asked to try it. Wasn't opened for us (snobby I know, but service is service) Bar area/layout is a bit impersonal and just feels like a hotel reception area. Hot tub in spa was broken. Only 2 sun loungers by inside pool area. Swerved it as tbh, its just a pool. The staff were friendly but all very young and inexperienced. The reception guy served us at the bar and didn't know what sauvignon blanc was..I pointed out it was written on the bottle. Nice place if youre a golfer but not quite the ticket for a romantic luxury getaway. Having said that, its very reasonably priced, so these aren't gripes, they're observations.

Room mega size , very lovely and cosy and comfortable. Breakfast lovely. Grounds splendid .Staff very helpful.

Only disappointment was absolutely no chance of any beauty treatments as these”get booked up months ahead” . I feel pointless listing this as a facility if inadequate availability. I would never be able to book so far ahead for a stay and be able to coordinate a massage booking. Swimming pool very good size , although rowdy group of 5-6 young men in there 3 evenings on the run , a bit unnerving, apparently vaping allowed poolside ?

Nice getaway spot. Lovely buffet breakfast and spa area. Quiet except for when gym/aerobic classes are going on & can hear the music & instructor shouting. Very friendly staff. Great water pressure & temperature in the shower. Lots of parking but sadly people without blue badges do park in the disabled bays. Huge bed with very comfortable duvet although ours was two single mattresses put together, dunno if that’s across the board.

Sadly the jacuzzi was out of order (looked like it was being retiled) so we didn’t use much of the spa area as pool is quite cool and children running around, coming into the sauna, etc. Last time we stayed we found the evening menu was too pricey for the quality & taste so this time we went out each night. Ironically we were given the same room as before and the hair dryer was still broken. Our keys kept stopping working so had to get them redone like 3-4 times. Advised not to keep by our mobiles or contactless cards but also that they can “time out”…

the receptionist was extremally rude. everything else was perfect.

the receptionist seemed to have a problem with us, I really couldn't work out what it was at all. I asked what the procedure for the pre booked meal was and she seemed to just get really annoyed and not tell me anything. I was just told I needed a code if I had pre booked but the price I paid wouldn't include it, I said the booking code? she said no a separate one and kept walking away. we booked the meal time and turned up hoping we would be able to sort it with the restaurant staff. They welcomed us in and said yes you are on the list for pre paid. Everyone and everything else was fantastic from the staff to the beds.

The hotel was very beautiful and elegant. I mostly admired that the hotel was able to fulfil my request for the bed to be adorned with swan towels for a Bridal shower party. This was met, and our stay was very comfortable and to our expectations. The hotel staff were kind enough to bring us bottled water, and in general fulfilled our requests. I am pleased with my stay here, it is a little far from the central of Hertfordshire- however this was expected.

The bed was huge & very comfortable. Very quiet& restful nights’ sleep. Lovely areas outside to sit, relax & watch for wildlife. The spa facilities were very enjoyable despite not having a therapist so could not have massages as we’d hoped for. Breakfast buffet was what you’d expect but hit the spot. Dinner items were enjoyable although some dishes were a strange combination (watermelon & whipped feta cheese…)

Minor things…hairdryer in the room did not work. Very awkward for ladies to get to the changing room then pool area (lots up stairs going down then back up in another area) but there was a disabled toilet & changing area that went right through on the same floor which was great for me & my failing knees.

I like all the facilities the grounds where i explore went for a long walk with my friend so much to see, was able to see a lot of the hotel buildings out side, was a lovely break. Would recommend to family and friends.

I like the room and the health spa overall I the setting of the hotel. I was able to get some information about afternoon tea, which I will book in the very near future.i also was very please with the staff they where very friendly and helpful and attend to my needs.

The room we had (1) was amazing. Myself and my husband actually had a child free night as our sen daughter was away with her school so we thought we would treat ourselves. It was amazing. I had read some negative reviews, but just thought we will still give it a go. The dinner was lovely, seeing as we are both vegetarian the choices were great. The breakfast was also really good with our vege sausages being cooked just for us

No air conditioning in the room, and we happened to have had the hottest day there so far, but we worked out how to open the windows wider and there was a fan in the room. Also on the flight path to Stansted, the planes literally fly over head. We live not far so are used to the planes, but this was a lot

The reception ladies have been fantastic, so helpful. Loved the pool, steam, sauna. I didn't go in the gym or jaccuzi but looked fine. The bedrooms were lovely, the hotel garden area is beautiful. We had our breakfast out there. The restaurant ladies were also so lovely. We couldn't have had a better and more comfortable stay x

The showers were a bit tricky to turn off but once you got the right spot yo stop, it was fine. The floor was a bit wet and slippery. Just be careful. It might be nice to have a squeegie available or out so people can do that themselves.
