Our stay at The PitStop was nothing short of wonderful. Melvyn and Sindy are extraordinary hosts—genuinely warm, friendly, and effortlessly welcoming. Their passion for Morgans—and for hospitality—shines through in every detail. The onsite Morgan garage is a delight for any car enthusiast, but even if you don’t know a Morgan from a Mini, you’ll still love the atmosphere. The huge American‑style diner where guests help themselves to breakfast (and can use it anytime!) was such a treat—so well stocked and charming. Everything across the property felt personal, thoughtful, and inviting.

There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like — everything was thoughtfully done and full of character.

This is a truly delightful place. So interesting and the kitchen diner is amazing. The breakfast was plentiful. A 'help yourself to such a variety' experience. We had brought our own dinner with us, as we had eaten out for lunch, so really nice to have this creative diner to heat and eat and enjoy a wine while chatting with other guests. Staff are friendly and helpful. The cars are a treat to explore and to have rooms designed around that theme was amazing. Loved the little floor lights and the bathroom is really cool, (oh yes and check out the fish in the ponds).

It was very hot, and we had the smallest room with no window to open and no aircon, the ceiling fan did little to ease the heat. If you are there in the middle of summer, I would encourage avoiding this room. However, despite this we didn't let it detract from the delight of the place. Next time we will plan for spring or autumn.

A fantastic stay at The Pit Stop B&B! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful hosts, who couldn’t have been more accommodating. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and had a unique charm that made our stay even more enjoyable. The real highlight, though, was the incredible car collection—an absolute treat for any car enthusiast! It’s clear that a lot of passion has gone into this place, and it truly shows. We’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special stay.

It’s a bit out of the ordinary B&B property. It’s based on the site of a Morgan car dealership. But you don’t need to be a car enthusiast to enjoy staying here. The room was very comfortable, it was very hot when we stayed but a ceiling fan plus a desk fan cooled things down. The bed was comfortable and room very clean, with everything we needed The Pit Stop breakfast bar was exceptional set up like an American style diner. You could help yourself to whatever food a drink you needed without having to observe set times.

Only niggle was the shower took a bit of regulating and couldn’t get it to stay on the handheld shower attachment rather that the overhead shower head

The room was amazing, the owners had put a great deal of effort into creating a highly memorable and enjoyable experience. The quality of work, and attention to detail, on the decorating was outstanding. As well as looking great, the room was very comfortable. A great feature of the hotel was the "24 hour diner" actually a large room done in the style of a 1950s American diner, but equipped with all you needed for breakfast and availabile all the time. Ideal for an esrly departure or a leisurely breakfast.

EVERYTHING! Melvyn and Sindy were the best - very helpful and friendly. He let us check in early as we had planned a day out. The room was spotlessly clean. It was quiet, very comfortable. The attention to detail in our room and of the whole place was exceptional. Loved the American diner breakfast room. We enjoyed the fact that we could make our own breakfast with a good range of ingredients available. If you're a car enthusiast, especially Morgans, then this is the place for you. A showroom full of these beautiful cars and we could see that they are Melvyn's passion. Loved the pink and blue his and hers ones! Ideally situated close to Stansted Airport, Bishop's Stortford and the Henry Moore Foundation, to mention a few. A great place to book out for a birthday with family or friends. The Pitstop is great value for money and definitely a place to visit again.

Nothing that I can think of!! It is a quirky, fun place to stay, so if quirky, and fun isn't your thing then you won't enjoy it - we LOVED IT!

Beautifully decorated accommodation. Very friendly and helpful host. It was great being able to get up and have breakfast at our leisure and help ourselves to what we wanted from the range of food on offer. The bedroom was lovely and a comfortable bed. The accommodation is set in a picturesque location within a short drive from the airport. The bonus of being able to view the owners exquisite collection of vintage Morgan sports cars kept at the property was fantastic.

The only down side was we could hear the planes taking off frequently overhead which disturbed me a bit ( we live in a quiet rural location so unfortunately notice any noise easily). However this didn't spoil the stay.

The photo's of this place don't really do it justice. My family had all 4 bedrooms so had the whole thing which was great for breakfast together and swapping rooms to share make up for going out! Also, my 80 year old Dad is a very bad sleeper and he'll wander around at night so it was great he had space to move, he could watch telly in the kitchen and there was also a lift. The attention to detail on the car memorabilia and the Art Deco was superb. If we needed to visit that area again, I would definitely go back. For a Dad, sister, us and 2 teenagers it was absolutely ideal!

Wonderful quirky place to stay with Morgan cars everywhere since it's a working garage. The bed was comfy and room spacious. There was everything you needed for a night away, including a computer and monogramed towels! The dining area was an American diner, and DIY, but there was again, everything you could possibly want/need for breakfast and snacks and it was open 24hours!

Noise from Stansted airports flight path. But only really an issue if you want a lie in after 8am!!

Had a great stay in mid July for one evening. Melvyn was extremely courteous on arrival and showed us all around the property despite being on crutches. Quirky B&B, with great decor and comfortable beds. We stayed in the twin room as this was only room left at time of booking. Outstanding diner themed kitchen area for self service breakfast. This experience was a little odd at first, as expected when cooking in someone else's kitchen, but a lot of fun and the food available was varied and plenty. Managed to fit in a quick look round the superb Morgans in the showroom under the bedrooms.
