The room exceeded expectations - fantastic bed, great bathroom and standards were very high - We stayed on a week night and the room very very quiet too, considering it was above a bar. I would stay again just for the room! All of the staff were friendly and helpful too -

Really disappointed with the breakfast - It let the entire experience down - no hot options, just a very basic selection of coffee/juice, (stale) bread, fruit, preserves, etc. - I was looking forward to a cooked breakfast (especially as the pub was producing so some fantastic evening meals when I arrived!) -- stay for the room but don't both for the breakfast!

Lovely staff, excellent pub with a really interesting history, everyone was warm and welcoming, even the locals. Quirky really, and with large outside spaces for both eating and smoking. The bed was really comfy, room was really nicely laid out and clean, with everything you needed for an overnight stay. We booked to stay here because we were going to the ABBA Arena for Steve's birthday surprise and didnt want to deal with getting back "home home" on public transport when it finished.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, but a point to note to taller people, try and book rooms on the first floor, we were in the eves (Room 8), lovely space but a challenge for gents to pee and I had to bend forward when getting out of bed to avoid the ceiling. And to be honest, was ready for a full English, only continental breakfast was on offer. Not a problem though…

The continental breakfast was fine and plenty of variation to choose from. The room was spacious and comfortable The atmosphere of the place is friendly and the staff very helpful and welcoming Parking is easy and the pub/hotel looks very inviting with the spectacular display of flowers in window boxes Quality of food excellent and a good menu

It's a long climb up the staircase and I was on the top floor not a problem for young people but would not appeal to older folk. Could do with a lift installation. The location is not great for shops or attractions unless you have a car that is

The ambience of the place is perfect. Character building, beautifully maintained, spacious pub, beer garden and restaurant. Super lovely staff, the bar staff were so nice as was the friendly ladies we met in the morning Dawn and Angneta (sorry if wrong !). The room, the Queen room, was so cosy and stylish with the timber beams bringing out the character of the building. The breakfast, a continental, we were able to take to our rooms so could relax. It far exceeded my expectations of a continental. With beautifully presented yoghurt and granola pots and smoked salmon and meats, a lovely selection of pastries.. fruits..really nice. My favourite place to stay so far ..

The pizza choice and quality could of been better.

The breakfast was not a traditional cooked breakfast, but it was still very nice with various choices.

However, we came down to breakfast on the last morning at about 9.45 (15 minutes before it closed) and it was not stocked well at all. This was frustrating and disappointing. We paid for B&B and if we come to the breakfast room before the finish of breakfast, as stipulated, we should have the same as anyone who came earlier. Also, although we only stayed two nights, and so we would not expect the linen to be changed, we would expect our tea/coffee/milk/sugar to be refilled daily.

Loved the breakfast and staff were very helpful. Room service was excellent, as was the room size. Lovely decor and tidy well kept. Meal downstairs was delicious and generous.. loved the setting with old photos and pictures .. gave a great relaxed nostalgic feel…..a 10 minute walk to the train station was very handy too.

The beds were very firm almost too hard to comfortably sleep on. The little green light on the ceiling was a bit too bright for the eyes at night 😵‍💫 Shower could have been cleaner in corners.. stairs quite steep.

Good location. Short walk to overground station. Nice atmosphere, popular with locals which is always a good sign. Families kids too. Over night stay prices for spacious clean rooms are competitive. Pleasant helpful staff

Room 3 overlooked outside seating area so on occasions cigarette smoke and noise came up to room from that area when windows open. Breakfast choice was limited really and don’t think it is the best set up for that.

Ideal room for short stay in London. Comfortable bed. Bathroom with shower was more than adequate with lovely hand and body washes. 2 bottles of water and 2 fans supplied which were greatly appreciated as the weather was so hot. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond. The pub itself was full of charm. Lovely to see so many locals using it.

The cooked breakfast was adequate but wasn’t the best we’ve had.

Lovely clean bright room. Great shower and loads of hot water. Lovely staff, great bar and well thought out breakfast. Very comfy bed and warm atmosphere in the pub.. Easy to control, responsive heating.. Easy access to public transport systems for Central London

The pub noise at midnight. Unfortunately the patrons hung around after the bar closed but we have to accept it was a pub after all. Noisy traffic outside but as we live in the countryside we're probably noise sensitive ..Would still return

We were made very welcome on arrival. Throughout our short stay the staff were very friendly and helpful. Had an excellent lunch on arrival. The room was comfortable and very clean as was the whole establishment. Very good continental breakfast. Ease of parking was a bonus

Unfortunately, because of the warm weather we had to leave the window open and being on a main road (with speed bumps) it was very noisy at times - this is NOT the establishments fault. Only slight criticism we had of the room was that there was no chair - something which older people need at times.
