Located right in the middle of Hertford over the pub. Easy access to lots of pubs/restaurants and the town centre shops. Separate car park at the back (not part of the pub and paid separately), convenient although it did get busy. Nice light big room (we paid for the larger room). Bed was comfortable and bedding clean
For awareness - the rooms are up steep stairs. The shower was over the bath and the bath did not drain away as quickly as the water ran, ending up with feet in standing water. The building is old so not modern and soundproofed, although earplugs are provided! No breakfast on offer, but plenty of other places to eat within easy walking distance

From check in, the staff made us feel so welcome. We were shown to our room and were told how to gain access to the property after hours and we were left complimentary sweets and biscuits in the room, which were a nice touch. The room itself was so beautiful with the exposed brick interior, looking out to the Main Street. It was also exceptionally clean. The location is superb, at the heart of the town centre and a short walk from the train station. Would definitely recommend the Dog and Whistle Pub and would stay again!
N/A- everything was amazing!

The Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was busier than I had expected. There was a birthday party booked and loud music until past midnight it didn’t hinder my stay but I was unaware that this was happening. The room was excellent and all of the facilities.
I may have missed information? on the use of the pub for that evening ( the birthday party ) although I slept well it was not an issue. I also missed information that the room was at the very top so lots of stairs this may have been mentioned and I missed it? However the room was very tasteful and every detail was addressed. I did request twin beds for me and my friend but sleeping in a double was ok.

I was highly impressed. It was a lovely stay the beds very comfortable the room was highly recommended was beautiful the room we had. I would stay again or I am staying again next month as I was highly impressed with all that was to offer. And so close to everything you need or go in Hertford.
Parking but that’s easier said than done. Paid for parking but got a ticket for staying over the time but I was staying here so just watch that you need to get up and paid for parking by 9 otherwise you get a ticket unfortunately I was 10 mins over as I was on a night out and I wasn’t able to get up to do this so if your going to go out to party get a lay to do so! Hahah Need a sign to stay your staying on the hotel and sort something out for parking so they know you paid but your in the hotel so you don’t have to come out early in the morning to pay again. That’s the only down full that I got a ticket to stay here:(

They could not provide more than snacks, coffee, tea drinking chocolate in the room. Their kitchens were closed
Unfortunately they had a huge leak in the basement which meant there was no water in the taps as the water wouldn’t turn on again. Thanks to the large bottle of water left in the room for drinking I did manage to boil some water for washing. The lady manager was extremely nice and said we would get a refund.

The location is really good 👍 we will definitely stay again 😊
When we arrived, we were unable to pay as the pub is closed on a Sunday, and on Monday, they wanted me to pay over the phone. I wasn't comfortable doing that as my card had been stolen at the train station 🙃 In the end, it was sorted. We just paid when we caught someone in the actual pub downstairs, so it all worked out in the end. We we're on the top floor room 3 if me and my husband cracked our head once we did it 100 times lol getting out of our room leading down the stairs. I just want to say there is a sign, but maybe put another one as people leave the room. This is just for advice. Really, the place is lovely, and so are the staff.

The pub area is clean and fresh with two wood fires. Beatrice was welcoming and gave clear and concise instructions as to how to access the bedroom area and access and leave the building after hours. From room 4 at the top the friday disco could hardly be heard but the youngsters in the street kept up their buoyant chatter until half past two! Which was not unpleasant as the room clearance time was eleven next morning. Finally the ensuite was a good sized bath with lots of hot water. That and the bedroom was spic and span and well presented.
You just have to check the bed dimensions - it was OK for on six footer.

Had everything I needed and more. Easy access in and out. Good value and perfect location. Cosy room
Room was a little bit hot but it was a warm day. The shower head started to spontaneously drip water at 2am even though it was all turned off. It sounded like rain and woke me up but stopped after about 5 mins, thankfully.. I wonder if this has happened before?

Supplied cartons of orange juice, biscuits, cake, Tea & Coffee etc even ear plugs (which we did not need to use) pub downstairs was warm & inviting with log fires. Bed was so comfortable we slept really well.
Can't say there was anything we disliked apart from having to duck when you reach top of staircase ha ha. May have shown the buildings opposite my butt as forgot to shut the blind before having a wee but that was my own fault! May be a bit noisy in the Summer months when back venue is open but hey they supply ear plugs

Comfy bed, large room and bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities with snacks in room, central location. Easy out of hours access although we weren't back late enough to worry about that! Shower pressure was good (overhead rose). Central location.
Slippy in the shower without a non slip mat. Heard a couple of voices in neighbouring room early ~6am, ok for us but I suspect would be noisy at weekends...although earplugs were provided. Could use a couple of shelves for storing clothes.
