Location and parking, the breakfast was excellent

Room 107 is above the kitchen doors it seems. So the noise from the doors banging shut comes up into the room. This starts around 6am so don’t expect a lay in!

Good location with lots to see and do within walking distance. Lots of staff about and all very friendly and helpful. This hotel has great historical character and is very comfortable. The bar area and outside courtyard are both lovely areas to relax in with friends and family. Good quality breakfast. Room was lovely with lots of individual character, aircon, good attention to detail such as dimmer switches and mood lighting, plenty of plugs with USB ports, large good quality TV, good quality toiletries and beverages, plenty of mirrors including full length, very clean bathroom with good quality towels and nice shower with great water pressure. Really comfy bed with great pillows. Dedicated hotel guest parking is very close by, free as long as you provide your registration on checkin. A very comfortable stay and would definitely recommend and stay again 👌

This is an old historical building, but even so, room was dusty, and it would have been more comfy if it was possible to open a window just a little. I did feel that the room was a little pricey and would have been much better value if breakfast was included.

I love everything about this place I have been a few times for meals and drinks but never stayed. Myself and partner fancied a night away from home and it’s just what we needed after a stressful week. We arrived around 9.45pm and were greeted by a lovely young man at reception. The room was perfect so comfortable and the fact we had breakfast in bed was an absolute treat! The breakfast was heaven I could have had seconds. Annabelle on the reception was amazing she made sure we had everything we needed and really made us feel welcome.we were even able to add a few extra hours lay in at a small fee.I was waffling away so much to her before we left my partner had to come back to find me 😂 . Thank you all for making our stay as wonderful as it was I felt well rested and can’t wait to come back and stay again

Beautiful, clean room with lovely bathroom. The location was quiet and finding the hotel was easy (although the car park is a little confusing to find first time. Breakfast was great, lots of options and the cooked breakfast was made to order with quality ingredients. Fresh milk and ice are available, however be prepared to have an adventure finding the 'Butler room' that you collect them from.

Staff were polite, however it took a while to find someone to check us in, and each morning for breakfast (It was obvious staff were around, but difficult to find them).

We booked a room for valentines day, it was well kept, clean and decorated beautifully. They even made the towel swans as requested, which was a nice touch. The room was cosy and the bathroom was clean and had a free standing bath and a double shower. Checking in and checking out was simple, no confusion, quick and easy. The staff were very welcoming and the whole place had a cosy and inviting atmosphere. The location was ideal as it was close to local shops restaurants and cafés, seeing as we were going for dinner in the evening. Breakfast the next morning was nice and the decor throughout was beautiful.

The only thing that I think probably let this hotel down, which isn't even their fault.. is the amount of noise coming from passers by, as it is right on the highstreet. But that's to be expected especially on a Friday night. Other than that, I honestly don't have anything to complain about!

My room rate did not include breakfast and it was very busy in the morning so we decided to go without. The room was nice, with a very comfortable bed and a separate dressing area. We had a large bathroom, with double shower cubicle and freestanding bath. The bath was lovely and deep and was great to soak in.

No drinking water actually in the room, my husband collected some on his return from a party in the early hours and I had to go to the bar area in the very early morning to get more (thankfully there was someone in the bar area at this time). Reception on checking in did mention a "station" where some items such as ice, biscuits could be obtained, but I could not remember where it was located and didn't want to be walking round the hotel.

Everything! Super quirky hotel right in the centre of Hertford and with parking too, big bonus. Lovely staff ( particularly the evening dinner staff ). Lovely, comfy room ( and they even supply fresh milk for the tea in little bottles, nice touch ). Great bathroom. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station at Hertford East direct into Liverpool Street station. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

If I were to be ultra picky the radiator in the bathroom wasn't working so room was slightly chilly, otherwise no problems

Super breakfast. Good portion sizes. Well presented. Choice of places to meet up and have a drink/ light snacks during day and early evening

The room was cluttered with too many big cushions on the bed. The tray for drinks was crammed not much room to prepare teas and coffees. Only one chair! (Hard backed) Not enough coat hangers. No paper tissues by the bed. Bedside clock not working. Air conditioning not working had to bring in maintenance staff.

Friendly staff, very good food (especially the breakfast) and nice atmosphere. Lovely location. Room had a lot of nice features that you don’t experience with many hotels, such as the coffee machine and the TV options. Had two great sleeps - bed was very comfy and air con made the room very comfortable.

Few minor mistakes made (missing ingredients off of breakfast, plus some missing ingredients off the dinner menu which meant that a starter could not be ordered). I felt the room was not as clean as it could be - considerable amounts of dust. I appreciate it is an old property but the room we had was quite cosy and the extra dust with working air con made it a little stuffyz

The hotel is a beautiful building, with a rambling interior that is tastefully decorated, plenty of seating and a huge courtyard, lots of really nice touches too. Our bedroom was really roomy and again very tasteful and comfortable, very comfortable huge bed, a large bathroom with a roll top style bath and a his n hers shower! We had everything we needed, didn’t use the butler room or have breakfast but we had a snack in the bar which was good, also great service from the staff. Car parking massive bonus. Location central and perfect, really nice town.
