We had a 2 bedroom with bathroom shared amongst 4 friends. The staff were wonderful, as was the position of the hotel in town. We had a wonderful dinner in the dining room after driving from Melbourne that day and also breakfast for 3 of us ( with 50% off). The beds were also comfortable. All the good things paled in significance, however, as there was a very noisy air conditioner just outside our door. The noise stopped about 10pm, but started again about 4.30- 5.00 am, waking 2 of us up and leaving us so tired to travel the next morning. I would suggest that guests be warned about the noisy air conditioner just outside the door We did not consider our room cheap at $375 per night. It was a Monday night, there were many vacant rooms and we'd happily have changed.

Got an upgrade on arrival and the suite was excellent. The decor was sauve and a bit Art Deco. I accidentally dropped my keys on the back stairs when I was leaving and they slid into a spot I couldn't retrieve them from. The staff came to my rescue & turned a shitty day into a great day. Excellent customer service. And a grand historic building located near good restaurants and a shopping centre.

It was all good. I tripped into the step up into the bathroom a couple of times but you have to remember that they didn't have internal plumbing when this 1862 building was built & you can't hack into a heritage building to drop in a shower. Parking is a bit tight and hauling luggage from your car up the stairs to your accommodation will give you some exercise.

Firstly, I received a complimentary room upgrade - something that I have never gotten before so I was excited. The check in and check out experiences were quick and helpful, staff were lovely. The room and bathroom were beautifully done/decorated and I felt very comfortable and cozy! All the furniture was comfortable to use, and importantly the bed. There were two different types of pillows provided, hard and soft. The amenities were everything you needed and a touch more - like a tooth brush in case you forgot yours and sanitary products, which I think are thoughtful extras. The shower was a rain head shower and the bodywash had a lovely smell. The products provided were really quite nice. There was plenty of milk provided for tea/coffee, which is nice because they don't always give enough milk! There was little bit of street noise that came into the room, but not much. My upgraded room (from a shoebox to a queen) had heaps of space, enough that I could do some yoga/stretching on the floor, which was clean and had comfortable carpet. Honestly, I really enjoyed my stay! Even if I had been in the shoebox room, I still would have felt the same way as it's just as nice but a little bit smaller. Very much recommend!

I wish that there was a face washer/flannel provided, but that is the only fault or difficulty that I found with the property during my stay!

We stayed at the Mount Gambier Hotel for two nights and really enjoyed our time. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of town, with cafes, shops, and the Blue Lake all within easy reach. The room was clean, spacious, and recently renovated, especially the bathroom which was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities (like tea/coffee, toiletries, and Wi-Fi) were just what we needed. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant one night and were really impressed with the food and service—generous portions and great quality. The only downside was that it could get a little noisy in the evening due to the central location and nearby pub area, but it didn’t disrupt our sleep too much. Overall, a great choice for a short stay in Mount Gambier. Would definitely recommend!

Room had everything we needed for a 2 night stay, everything was renovated but still had the charm of the old building. Bed was comfy, TV was an easy to use smart TV with all the streaming apps, internet was good. Aircon/heating had no issues. Was surprisingly quiet accommodation as well given it's above the pub, that might also depend on the room you stay in though.

Only downside was dragging heavy luggage up the stairs to the rooms, that's the only option to get stuff up there! We were aware of that though before booking.

We had an upgrade to executive king - the room was extremely comfortable, very well refurbished. A good size with extra space for sitting with a fridge (mini bar but good size), kettle, desk etc. Bathroom was also a good size with a great shower and good water pressure. The food in the restaurant was great and fair value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful.

As on old building, the layout is a bit complicated and so when we left early in the morning we could only exit via a fire exit on to the Main Street as all other internal doors were bolted. This meant a fair walk to the car park plus we couldn’t get to the reception desk to return our key. Thankfully a cleaner arrived and took the key and said they would leave it on the desk for us.

From check in to check out the experience was fantastic. The staff were very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. We only stayed for one night on our way to drive the Great Ocean Road but it was not only a convenient place to stop but the perfect place to rest and recharge before continuing our road trip. The room was a great size and very clean and quiet despite being on the road facing side of the hotel, and the bathroom was stunning! Great food options at the hotel itself and nearby. Really close to the Blue Lake which is well worth checking out too.

Didn't expect the room to be good as it was only 1 night stay but to my surprise it was good and I guess the recent renovation made it look good and clean. Modern touch bed lamps, digital door locks, in room secondments (including inside fridge) price lists and Smart TV made it look modern

Not many and not big concerns but noticed few flaws like- 1- There is a step from room to the bathroom. 2- The bed is located on one side of L shape room where the the other end it was Air-conditioner. 3- The room was located on level one which need steps to walk with luggage. 4- Didn't receive any smile or good vibes when checking out. Seems to have a bad day.

The hotel has been beautifully and sympathetically renovated and is lovely to spend time in. The bar and restaurant are great and the food was delicious. It's super handy for walking around the town. The room itself was lovely, the bathroom was particularly good.

The only thing was that it was a little noisy in the room - could hear people walking around outside quite clearly and the air conditioners were a bit noisy. But absolutely not a big deal. The beds were super comfortable and everything else was fantastic.

This accomodation was beautiful!! It was spotlessly clean and very modern and affordable. The rooms are generous in size and every part was clean and dust free from the headboard, shower grout, shower shelf and cupboards! They have everything in offer that a 5 star hotel would have. Aesop brand bathroom creams and hand wash on offer make this feel extra special. Well done to the hotel stall for a standard above the rest ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

You can hear the road noise from within the rooms. Maybe a few more towels and additional bathmat available in the room but staff are available till past might yo supply if you ask. (I was only staying one night so could be why there wasn’t more in my room).
