The refurbished rooms were a pleasant surprise and very comfortable. The shower was very good with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Soap, shampoo, conditioner body wash, shave cream, body lotion/cream was a nice touch with nice fluffy towels to dry off.

The amateur install of the extraction fan in the bathroom was a let down, a simple piece of painted marine ply with the appropriate cut out would look a lot better. The shower needs more silicone to stop pooling of water outside of the shower screen and the wall a/con was noisy but worked good 👍..

Amenities like toaster, kettle and microwave and tv available in the room. Plus good location. Loved the rain shower. Swift check in and check out.

No slippers in the room plus shampoo, hand and body wash were not checked and refilled before our check-in day. But that was taken care of immediately by a staff member after I made the phone call. Bed mattress was too much bouncy or springy and that gave me back pain the next day.

Basic accommodation, but the room had everything we needed, and a view over the town. The updated bathroom was appreciated.

There is a nice bar fridge in the room, but it does not have a freezer section. As we are on a road trip, I like to pop my freezer blocks in overnight ready for travel the next day. The motel does have a guest kitchen, but no fridge there either. Maybe if we'd been earlier the manager might have been able to help us.

Clean and comfortable for an overnight stopover with good air con. Affordable and close to Umpherston sink-hole so we could see the possums at night (fussy little critters prefer grapes over apple). Nice restaurant at South Eastern Hotel which has big affordable meals just on the corner.

No freezer to keep our ice packs cold for a day of travel the next day. Walls are a bit thin so we could hear a very noisy kid next door.

Clean, fresh smelling room. beautifully presented. Plenty of tea and coffee provided. Also, quite spacious, compared to some. Bed was fine. we had a good stay.

Reception close early, but people have to have a life so that's OK. Entry is through a steep driveway (that is not a problem) and we almost missed it. A little more signage might be useful. Really, there not much we didn't like.

Blue Lake Motel is a cozy place to spend an overnight at Mt Gambier. The budget triple room was clean and tidy. The glass door fridge was new and with big capacity. Thanks for the free biscuits.

The kettle and toaster need to be replaced. They were old and dirty. The blinds couldn't block the whole window, so the outdoor light got through. Also, the aircon and fridge were very loud. These issues were not friendly to a light sleeper.

We expected an older little tired retro type place, like we used to remember in the 80’s & 90’s Room was perfectly like that, really comfortable bed and couch, newly refurbed bathroom, flooring all comfortable, clean and not worn out. Great views over the town as the sun went down and night lights came on.

Shower took a long time to get warm, but once hot it was great.

Location was convenient, it was really near the Umpherston Sinkhole and the main street was about 5 mins away... the room was newly renovated (I think) with new cooling/heating unit... check-in was simple and quick... Parking was right outside our room which was an advantage for us given we travelled with a baby...

Place is little uphill, it would be no issue if you have a car but if you don't going out would be a challenge

The BBQ/kitchen facility. Everything we needed in the room was supplied. The location was good. Took our last min booking on a long weekend. Was very grateful.

Our room was serviced without us knowing. We would've been ok without someone coming into our room with our personal belongings laid out. If we knew someone was going to service the room we would have packed everything away. Nothing major.

I didn't like the stairs to get to the room , I have bad knees so that was hard , could have had towels changed more , and the heater is in the wrong place to heat the room, and the internet is crap
