Overall renovated rooms and bathrooms were awesome! Everything provided inside is enough for anybody's needs. Environment is amazing, worth staying! Plenty of parking space and located right next to shopping streets with all that we want. Definitely recommended.

Provide a couple of extra water bottles as there's nothing else to fill the water bottle from except going to the bistro which is shut at 12am till morning. If needed in midnight, there isn't any water supply. Perhaps add a small microwave somewhere if possible and the cups/spoons were not properly cleaned, New sink is a bit too small (does the job but water splashes everywhere outside). smart TV was not connecting to the Wi-Fi properly so we couldn't use it in 1 room.

Staff were amazing, had an issue with daughter ended up in hospital, staff helped by re organizing us so we could have a down stairs room for easy access, 2 buckets of ice so could wrap up her feet as torn both ligaments and couldn't walk, late check out, very understandable about cancelling our reservation in dining room.. had room service and the food was amazing, the beds were so luxurious and comfortable and then there was the shower.. I didn't want get out.. the room was immaculate.. I will be the recommending the federal to everyone.. I look forward to my next there

Nothing everything was perfect

Room was lovely and clean Great bathroom Felt the room could of been larger but done for one night Had lovely extra items & I made use of the room service for dinner which was great. Meal was great

I came with a lot of luggage which I had to carry up stairs with the help of the receptionist but a lift would be ideal. Or somewhere to keep this for the evening. Had to carry it all down in the morning alone which is quite dangerous. I’m talking 50kg suitcases… Pub was quite loud as I was situated right above it. Struggled to get to sleep noise wise, but bed was comfortable enough.

Bed was absolutely wonderful, best hotel bed ever sleep in. Dinner was good. Staff were great very helpful and extremely polite. Would love to stay again. Was not as noisy as we feared it might get but appreciate the ear plugs. Also granddaughter loves the pretzels and jelly beans.

Being able to get breakfast on site might have been nice. Designated parking also might be helpful. There is nothing else to add or complain about as we were very happy 😊

We had a great stay at the Nightcap at Federal Hotel Mt Gambier! The family room was perfect for us, with a separate space for the kids to play and relax. The room was clean and tidy, and the location was fantastic for exploring Mt Gambier. The bistro was also a highlight. We had a great time at trivia night, and we appreciated the free drink cards and discount off meals. The bar can get a bit noisy at night, but the music and noise finished up by about 11:30, so it wasn't a problem for us. It's a great place to stay if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place in Mt Gambier.

Clean, spacious, modern yet homey feel! It looks as per photos from booking.com. Close to shops, cafe, Dan Murphys is just across and Coles is nearby too. Staff were great, hassle free checkin and checkout. I like the scent of the free toiletries! The main door shape and curtain drapes added a character to the space!

Not that we don’t like it, but might be something to improve on. The space at the back entrance with the small door, needs tidying. Given that you need to carry your luggage up the flight of stairs, a lot of trip hazards.

Very clean, lovely washing and shower facilities. Although our room was on the main road (room 18), it was surprisingly quiet.

Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit gave up during the night. And as the temperature during the day reached 37 degrees, it was very uncomfortable. We spoke to the house keepers in the morning who advised they would inform the office staff to arrange for a technician to fix the unit. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

The property is good, spacious rooms.

We looked a family studio. In the first bedroom with double bed the air conditioner wasn’t working. Initially it didn’t turn on, a technician came and he had no clue how to turn it on. Later he discovered that main switch was off. Once that was sorted air con was turning off again and again as a result we didn’t get cool air in the room. We had to sleep without aircon.

It was a great position, perfect room style for our needs and staff were fantastic. Having meals available in pub was convenient.

Unfortunately whoever was in the room next door likes AFL a lot! They had their TV on so loud (or the walls were a bit thin) that it was just like it was our TV and the noise went on quite late on both Friday and Saturday nights.

It had everything we needed for a overnight stay. The rooms were generally clean

The after hour check in lock really needs some oil in them. It took us 1 hr to open it at 2 am in the morning, freezing cold and we all just stood outside, the hotel did not have after hour emergency number there was no one to help, we had to ask chatGPT what to do
