We had a 2 bedroom with bathroom shared amongst 4 friends. The staff were wonderful, as was the position of the hotel in town. We had a wonderful dinner in the dining room after driving from Melbourne that day and also breakfast for 3 of us ( with 50% off). The beds were also comfortable. All the good things paled in significance, however, as there was a very noisy air conditioner just outside our door. The noise stopped about 10pm, but started again about 4.30- 5.00 am, waking 2 of us up and leaving us so tired to travel the next morning. I would suggest that guests be warned about the noisy air conditioner just outside the door We did not consider our room cheap at $375 per night. It was a Monday night, there were many vacant rooms and we'd happily have changed.

We stayed at the Mount Gambier Hotel for two nights and really enjoyed our time. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of town, with cafes, shops, and the Blue Lake all within easy reach. The room was clean, spacious, and recently renovated, especially the bathroom which was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities (like tea/coffee, toiletries, and Wi-Fi) were just what we needed. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant one night and were really impressed with the food and service—generous portions and great quality. The only downside was that it could get a little noisy in the evening due to the central location and nearby pub area, but it didn’t disrupt our sleep too much. Overall, a great choice for a short stay in Mount Gambier. Would definitely recommend!

We had an upgrade to executive king - the room was extremely comfortable, very well refurbished. A good size with extra space for sitting with a fridge (mini bar but good size), kettle, desk etc. Bathroom was also a good size with a great shower and good water pressure. The food in the restaurant was great and fair value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful.

As on old building, the layout is a bit complicated and so when we left early in the morning we could only exit via a fire exit on to the Main Street as all other internal doors were bolted. This meant a fair walk to the car park plus we couldn’t get to the reception desk to return our key. Thankfully a cleaner arrived and took the key and said they would leave it on the desk for us.

From check in to check out the experience was fantastic. The staff were very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. We only stayed for one night on our way to drive the Great Ocean Road but it was not only a convenient place to stop but the perfect place to rest and recharge before continuing our road trip. The room was a great size and very clean and quiet despite being on the road facing side of the hotel, and the bathroom was stunning! Great food options at the hotel itself and nearby. Really close to the Blue Lake which is well worth checking out too.

Didn't expect the room to be good as it was only 1 night stay but to my surprise it was good and I guess the recent renovation made it look good and clean. Modern touch bed lamps, digital door locks, in room secondments (including inside fridge) price lists and Smart TV made it look modern

Not many and not big concerns but noticed few flaws like- 1- There is a step from room to the bathroom. 2- The bed is located on one side of L shape room where the the other end it was Air-conditioner. 3- The room was located on level one which need steps to walk with luggage. 4- Didn't receive any smile or good vibes when checking out. Seems to have a bad day.

This accomodation was beautiful!! It was spotlessly clean and very modern and affordable. The rooms are generous in size and every part was clean and dust free from the headboard, shower grout, shower shelf and cupboards! They have everything in offer that a 5 star hotel would have. Aesop brand bathroom creams and hand wash on offer make this feel extra special. Well done to the hotel stall for a standard above the rest ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

You can hear the road noise from within the rooms. Maybe a few more towels and additional bathmat available in the room but staff are available till past might yo supply if you ask. (I was only staying one night so could be why there wasn’t more in my room).

The room was amazing. The staff had left the heater on so it was wonderfully warm when I arrived. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the middle of the city. The set up of the room was so unexpected. It made me feel like I’d won on this booking. So lovely, clean and the staff were welcoming.

The only negative was the bed. It was too hard, I didn’t sleep a full night in the three nights I was there. This is the only thing from making me hesitate about staying there again. I’ve two more trips back the Mt. Gambier coming up, and I’d love to return to the hotel, but I’m not sure.

We liked the comfortable large bed (size of two singles), spacious room, cleanliness, and general thoughtfulness of the layout and tasteful furnishing of the room. Bathroom was clean and spacious with generous and good quality toiletries. Room also had tea/coffee making facilities. Travelling with our dog, the 'pet room' was ideal for our girl to be with us as she would be at home, A small to medium sized dog bed is provided as well as a couple of feeding bowls. The location was at the centre of town, easily found with ample parking behind the hotel. There are even a couple RAA EV charging stations available in the carpark. Restaurants, cafes, fast food and supermarkets and all sorts of retail shops all within a few minutes walking distance. Cave Garden / Thugi diagonally opposite the hotel on the main road crossing. Check-in was fast and easy. We stayed during the week in July and found it was a warm and peaceful nights stay in the air-conditioned room. Would most definitely choose to stay here again.

There ia nothing we didn’t really like. The only negative in our opinion is that it is a pity there is no lift up to the rooms which are all on the first floor, I was travelling with someone elderly and this just made accessing the room a bit of àn extra effort with luggage and all. However, this was made clear at the time of booking so no surprises there.

The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Walking in the first thing we saw was a magnificent oil painting opposite the door - as art lovers we found this a lovely touch. The room service menu was so good we gave in to temptation to stay in for dinner and had absolutely no regrets; our meals were delicious.

There is no elevator so hauling suitcases up stairs wasn’t fun; but to be fair we were warned in advance this was the case and it’s a heritage building so there’s not much that can be done about that.

Was a perfect location for what I needed to do. The rooms are large and very nicely renovated with a great shower. Very good price for the standard too. They also allow dogs, which I will take advantage of next time. I couldn't fault it, and there's easy access to a drink and dinner just downstairs too.

Only slight niggle was the variable water temperature in the shower. It reminded me of the system in my apartment, which does the same thing. Minor thing as the water did not go completely cold.
