Did not eat breakfast, wasn't included The hospitality was 5 Stars, we even changed rooms with owner's consent, and we were able to keep both heater's in our room! LOL! Property was very clean and being a listed building, a little ornamental. Beds were comfortable. We were happy with our stay overall.

Not all of us in our party had a problem with the road noise, only one of us out of three. Hotel is on a road coming out of the town, which was diverted traffic I think. Could hear cars at night but only me, others were ok with this. The hotel owner did explain that a form of double glazing is going to be installed. TV needed to be upgraded in our room, it had black strip across it. For people with longer stays, a mini fridge would be good.

Excellent family friendly hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful the food and the service was great my parents was extremely pleased with the whole hotel with it being a old building and the have kept alot of the old features inside and the room furniture and stained glass windows helped with the historic feel. The hotel is in a fantastic location with penrith Castle right behind the hotel penrith train station on the corner and the town centre shops at the bottom of the road. We were also able to store our bags while we visited some of the local historical sites before returning for our bus home. We will definitely be returning here again for our next visit to penrith

The manager Tony was very helpful.We couldn't get TV on in room and he kindly upgraded us to a better room.He went above and beyond to make our stay a good one.He even sorted car parking out for us. The room had all the essentials and the hospitality tray had a good selection. The hotel is situated in an ideal location near all the transport links and shops.

The only thing missing was an offering of a toast rack and fruit juice for our breakfast which apart from this was very nice and good value.

The owner and all of the staff were terrific. They helped with my luggage, check-in, and gave suggestions about local sites. The owner checked me in, then later cooked my dinner and in the morning made my breakfast! These two last items are not easy with my dietary constraints but he went out of his way to make sure I had a perfect stay.

The bed was soft, nearly to the point of bowing to the floor, but my sleep was good, I have to add. Lots of stairs to get to the room. The room was a bit warm.

Easy to find. Friendly and helpful staff. Offered to help with my luggage. Clean and tidy bedroom and en-suite. Good food on the menu. Easy reach to town centre.

Not that I didn’t like it but you have to be aware that there are steps up to the building and a minimum of two flights of stairs to the bedrooms. There is no car parking on site but ample car parking available in Morrisons car park which you pay for using an app. Very poor phone signal.

Warm, friendly welcome which lasted the entire stay. Good rooms with comfortable beds and the usual facilities. Close to the center of Penrith with its own well stocked bar and restaurant.

No hotel parking (parking is a premium in Penrith) although parking is available for a fee (£3.60 per 24hr period at the time of writing this review) at the Morrisons supermarket which is just around the corner.

Location was great, next to the ruins of the old castle and within very easy access to the town centre. Room was small but satisfactory. Everything clean but a little bit worn. All staff I met were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the coffee excellent! Very cheap overnight parking across the road.

Only thing was that the shower was difficult to balance between too hot or chilly.

Facilities matched the standard of Premier Inn and it was obvious that the property had been refurbished, at no expense spared to a level demanded by the most discerning traveller. Full marks for effort.

Had a struggle with the electronic door locks that didn't work for me, but this not unusual since my spectacles not able to cope with tiny numbers on keypad.

Having read some poor reviews just before the stay I was concerned but I needn’t have been. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. The food was excellent. All in all very good.

Great location. Friendly, accommodating staff. Comfortable bed. Period furniture.

The paintwork in the room could do with freshening up, and a couple more electric sockets would be ideal. But I understand that the property is going through a gradual renovation, so I think those points will be dealt with.
