I stayed at Water House Sun Moon Lake and really enjoyed my time there. This is conveniently located close to the water, which made the views and overall experience extra relaxing. We got two rooms with a beautiful lake view and one with a view of the “mountain” though it’s really more like hills. I also appreciated the free bike rentals — it was a great way to explore the area at our own pace.

One thing to note: even though breakfast is included, one of our room’s orders kept getting mixed up for two days in a row. Also, breakfast service doesn’t start until 8:30 AM, which felt a bit late, especially if you’re an early riser or planning a full day of activities.

The location is great. You can just walk 5 min to get 7-11 in mean while at the front of the hotel is still the lake. The room and the bed is big enough for 4 persons family and it is super new and clean. Bath tub is always good for the kids. Thanks a lot for the kind staffs to give us some space for drop the baby trolley at lobby area.

The bicycle returning closing time is just 6 pm so it is a bit early. Although we're the hotel guest, we still have no flexibility time to return the bike after 6 pm. The fridge in the room is too small and can't make thing freeze.

The property is relatively new hence the rooms were very clean and neat. Bed was comfortable and temperature in the room can be adjusted. As the homestay property is linked to a bicycle rental shop, guests can rent a bicycle for free to cycle around Sun Moon Lake! Breakfast was also good (they gave us sandwiches + soy bean milk). They will give a breakfast voucher that can be exchanged near the property if you don’t want the breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful in assisting us in finding our way. Would recommend staying here for a homestay feel and a good view of the lake (moon side)👍

Nice place at the water (although only a side arm of the lake), breakfast box with good food. 2 hr free bike rental (full day or e-bike cost more, but still cheaper as other places). The staff doesn‘t speak english, but have everything translated, so all fine.

The room and views are a bit less beautiful as on the pictures, price therefore a bit high compared to other places in Taiwan. But still a recommendation for a short stay at SML.

What a fantastic place to stay, a real hidden gem. The room was very spacious, comfortable beds and a great bath and shower. They were so kind and helpful. No English but Google translate helped with that. We stayed three nights and had free bike hire each day. They also recommended good places to eat. I highly recommend it.

Family-run hotel with great hospitality. The room smelled really clean and nice the moment I walked in, has everything you need, soy milk and breakfast box provided each morning (or a 7-11 voucher if preferred), free bicycle rental (2 hrs max), spacious rooms with biscuits and tea provided.

Public transport around the area is a little sparse e.g. buses around the lake departing every 1-2 hours.

The location and the facilities inside the room were excellent. The staff took good care of us. They provided us breakfast at the right time. The balcony with the lake view was the highlight. The beds were cozy, and the bathroom provided hot water 24x7. The property was at a walkable distance from Sun Moon Lake's drop-off point. The property also provides free bikes for 2 hours to wander around the lake. We enjoyed the stay overall.

New family run B&B in a quiet location, yet not far from the bus station, restaurants and shops. Although the owners speak little English they were well prepared with printed pre-translated often used sentences. Free use of a bicycle was included. My room had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs, overlooking what was supposed to be an arm of the lake. However, due to the low water level in the lake it was now a grassy area, still nice to look at.

The decoration of the room was rather sparse. Although a boxed breakfast was provided on the first day, for the second day I only received vouchers to buy my breakfast at a nearby convenience store.

The aesthetics and facility is well designed for a comfortable staying. The ventilation in bathroom is surprisingly perfect. Love the nature light, ceiling height and the spacious patio to relax from the room. And the bed is comfy. These are hard to come by from the regional B&Bs not to mention our host's kindness and warmth. It is located right on the bike trail, the quiet side of the lake but yet easy to access everything. Perfect for our stay! Would come back again!

The room was comfortable. The staff were nice. We had free parking.

We requested a lakeview room but there was no real lake view as advertised. Instead we had a view of a small inlet where the paddleboards were stored. Breakfast was a $60 TWD voucher for 7/11. Unexpected as it was advertised as breakfast provided. One of the electronic keys did not work.
