Location! Location! Location! The stairway leading up to the hotel rooms is just off of the main square in Vernazza making everything easily accessible. We booked a triple room which was a bit narrow with 3 twin bed aligned "head-to-toe". The bathroom was great and not cramped. There is a shared area where you can sit and be protected from the elements. Outside was a short pathway to a beautiful coastal view. Breakfast at "The Deck" is not to be missed. A typical European breakfast with stunning sea views.

Nothing against the property but be forewarned, there are a TON of steps. We knew this when we booked the room so it wasn't really a surprise. Those traveling with large suitcases may find the steps to the room a bit of a challenge as there a no elevators. Our room was 118 steps up from the town square. Worth it? YES! Just be prepared. We did have help getting our luggage to the room. I suggest taking advantage of it.

There are quite a few exterior steps, but there are pauses and changes of direction to take a rest. Breakfasts were great. We had to check out before breakfast opened and were very kindly provided with “take out” pastries and beverages the night prior. We required gluten free due to an allergy that was well accommodated. Checking staff guided us to our room. Pleased that we chose this locale very close to the square. There is a small upper common area we met others at, that during the rainy cool weather was damp and cool. Nice patio on the smallish side, along the sea.

I had a superior room with a balcony and stunning views of the sea! The room looked recently renovated and was very stylish and comfortable. Big bathroom with rainfall shower and high-quality toiletries. Great aircon. There's a beautiful terrace with sea views where breakfast is served and another outdoor lounge area. Staff at check-in were really lovely. The location was perfect and very close to the beach and harbour.

There were a lot of steps up to the rooms, so beware if you have heavy luggage, but the effort is totally worth it!

The location was picturesque, but as all the reviews and cautionary tales state, beware of the 138 steps to the room. The view was outstanding!

Because we traveled during the off-season, we had a lot of difficulty finding breakfast (the hotel doesn't offer during the off-season) and dinner (many restaurants close before dark). We had to travel to another town for coffee! Please offer a teapot or coffee maker in the room. Also, I was confused why some sort of breakfast was not offered to us even on the day the hotel was not closed. We had to pay for coffee when during other seasons, breakfast is included. So, if you travel to the Cinque Terre during the off-season season, stay in another town as Vernazza was not set up for tourists during December.

The breakfast was filling and tasty. Croissants, meats, cheeses, cappuccinos... and the view was spectacular, overlooking the sea! The staff from registration, to the restaurant, and cleaning, were warm and friendly, wanting to provide their best service. Don't get scared at the 100 steps to the rooms, it is so worth the stay. I just wish the bar on the rooftop was open for drinks. (Rain and cold weather were the culprits.) Wonderfully hot showers were a bonus. The noon chimes from the bell tower were the best I have ever heard.

The view from "the Deck" where breakfast was served and drinks and snacks were available during the day was absolutely exceptional and the atmosphere was great. The staff were all lovely. We ate at the restaurant on the square which was lovely too. It was a great place to have as a base to explore other towns along the railway line and walking trails.

The stairs are hard work with cases but the staff were really helpful and offered to take them up and down for us. The stairs are well advertised and are the reason why the views are so good and it is quiet away from the business of the square. They are well worth it.

Great location if you want to stay in Vernazza. It's right off the main plaza and really close to both the water and the train station. They let us check in early when we arrived. Room was clean and adequate. Breakfast included on The Deck is a really nice touch! There was also a common area balcony for hotel guests to use which overlooked the water and was awesome to sit on for sunrise and sunset.

Be prepared for a lot of stairs including several flights up to the hotel, and potentially 2 more flights in the hotel and even some stairs in the bathroom. (This is expected, just stating). Also there were only two outlets in entire room. My partner and I each used one for our devices and the tower fan they provided did not have an additional outlet to plug into to be able to use.

I don't often gush but I adored this place from the moment I arrived. Check-in was at the bar which is on the main street in Vernazza - and was heaving with tourists even in October, but I was immediately taken up (a lot) of stairs through winding back streets to get to the room itself in a house on top of the cliffs overlooking the sea. Up there there was also a private terrace and a bar serving drinks and the most delicious aprtivi. The staff were all incredibly friendly. I would love to return.

Be prepared for a lot of steep narrow stairs - but if that doesn't worry you (it didn;t bother me) I can't really think of any other negatives. And if you don't like steep narrow stairs you might want to think twice about visiting Vernazza anyway.

Room for 3 (3 twin beds) didn't have alot of views but it was clean. It is a bit dated inside but was fine to sleep. The views from the top balcony where breakfast is served were beautiful. I enjoyed a sunset glass of wine at the bar/ breakfast area. Shower was compact but worked well. The break fast was great! I was so happy they had gluten free crackers, muffins and breads. It was very much appreciated!!!! It's important to know that the rooms are a hike from the check in. You check in at the restaurant then they take you to the rooms. From the street to the room was step 99 steps. The last 2 flights were a very tight winding staircase. We had backpacks so it wasn't bad. Would be very challanging with big suitcases!! Staff was also kind enough to store our bags after check out so we could explore other towns before leaving at the end of the day.

My only issue is the twin mattresses are a bit old. You can feel the springs in the beds. They were not to most comfortable of beds but this was not as bad as the B&B we stayed at in Florance. The staff wasn't super resposive to questions emailed online. I only ever got 1 response to 4 different sets of emails even after contacting booking.com. Room is dated in looks for the $200+ a night but the location was great.

The view from the breakfast room was amazing. Just perfect. Food was good but could of used more hot dishes, pastries and fruit... We could hangout our wet clothes or towels on the line outside the window. That was really nice. It was clean. Nice view out the window. Loved the walk up to the room even with all the steps. Loved the sitting balcony . Beautiful view

The mattress. Horrible. Could feel the bar. And it was hard. Hotel needs to invest in new mattress . And pillows. We slept but that’s because of all the walking we did. Breakfast could use hot food and more fruit.
