Have stayed before and find the hotel to be clean, always smelling very nice especially in toilet and foyer areas. Staff are pleasant and helpful at all times. We were given an upgrade to the older quieter part of the hotel to ensure we could have a double bed by the man with glasses at reception and we really appreciated this. We also had a couple of requests which staff were very helpful with and actioned very quickly. The night porter assisted with getting some soft drinks from the bar after hours when the vending machine would not work. Excellent customer service.

We had requested early check in which had been agreed via message but then could not be actioned on arrival. This was disappointing after a very early flight and considering we had pre-arranged it. The gentleman with the glasses on reception during check in when we finally could check in was very helpful and made up for it with the room upgrade.

Beautiful countryside location, the interior is very Scottish with older furniture. The bed could do with being a bit more comfortable, the mattress is on the harder side. Supply you with tea/coffee facility in room for free. Beautiful grounds, horses in the field next to the hotel. The doors in the staircases bang quite loud, maybe hinges should be changed to make it less noisy for guests sleeping in rooms adjacent to the staircase. Helpful and friendly staff. Need to be a driver as hotel quite rural and tucked away in a country road.

Doors a bit loud with slamming etc, mattress could be a bit comfier.

Despite reading pretty bad reviews online of the hotel we know that reviews can be misleading so we booked anyway. The hotel offered availability for the dates we required and excellent value for money in comparison to other properties nearby. We were pleasantly surprised, despite the hotel being slightly dated, everywhere was clean and tidy with our room being comfortable, bathroom clean and shower and bath both good with plenty of hot water and fresh towels of good size. Hairdryer supplied in room with tea/coffee making facilities. Staff friendly and helpful. We didnt eat or drink in the hotel as we had prior arrangements so cannot rate either of those. Location was perfectly suited to us and peaceful for a good nights sleep. We stayed 3 nights.

Lovely breakfast need to.be in for 9am or the TV goes off as does the breakfast it's aimed at coach parties mainly in and out attitude be on your way. Having said that it was good. We were the only ones in at 8.45am the staff were all eating their breakfast in the restaurant we felt like intruders to their space staring at us. It was weird and in all my years I've never seen staff eating in restaurant hours when there are still guests.

Staff eating breakfast in restaurant guest hours. Felt like intruders. Although the buffet breakfast was nice and we did talk to one member of staff and broke the ice.

For what you pay can’t beat it. The grounds and location are stunning. Hotel is outdated but is a place with character. Sheets weren’t the cleanest and had holes in and only one pillow for each of us. But apart from that the stay was cheap and cheerful and will be staying again in the future. Shout out to the guy in reception when we checked in was a friendly guy and made it quick and easy.

Bed sheets had stains and holes in. And the room was scorching when we first arrived. Closed the curtains and opened the windows soon cooled down a bit.

We like this place for a get away few days plus only ten minutes from the beach and the dog loves the open air walks

We this was the first time we were told there wasn't enough guests for them to open up facilities for us so there was no bar open for drinks and no restaurant available for food witch I thought was bad considering a hotel is a hotel wether theres two guests or two hundred it's still a business. But a would go back again but maybe call up first and make sure theres going to be enough guests for the facilities to be open

Location near airport, free overnight car parking (but £7/night car left at the hotel). Kettle for a hot drink + free sachets of coffee, milk, sweetener etc. A shower.

The Hot water tap in the bathroom sink wouldn't turn on (no knob on tap on in another room on my first stay 2 weeks earlier). Upgrade work is ongoing in the old part of the hotel. The lift was a long way from reception which was not a big problem if you could carry your luggage up stairs to the second floor room where I was both times.

Very relaxed and although a budget hotel it has some very fine features - a beautiful old house and lovely grounds. Enjoyed the comeraderie and easy atmosphere. It was warm, clean and friendly. Loved the bar lounge where Elvis made a phone his call from when his flight stopped in Prestwick and his way back from serving in Germany a piece of Elvis history there - great to see the photo! Prices were very reasonable and they had entertainment in the evenings thrown in. Quirky - indeed - but enjoyable experience. We'll be back!

Well it was budget and I would like a bathmat in the bathrooms. Needs redecorated although it has a dated charm.

1 night stay with my son to watch the football. You get what you pay for at Britannia hotels. Room was decent size and clean. Furniture and decor is old but this gives it its character. Old building is lovely with a nice games room And bar. Free parking. Bathroom had a bath which is always good to have the option. Warm room. Bar and reception staff very nice.

Check on says 3 and we arrived at 3 and had to wait 35 minutes on the ok to be checked in. There was at least 5 others waiting Aswell. Don’t know why they can’t give you a clean room instead on waiting on every room in the hotel being done before they let guests in. Cleaning staff were walking around the corridors swearing and talking very loudly about how check in should be 4 or 5pm to give them more time to clean rooms. 10am check out. Would have preferred 11 like most hotels.
