the room in the 2 storey courtyard was spacious with plenty of drawer and cupboard space. Some of the wall sockets had USB ports for recharging. A litre bottle of still water was provided with tall glasses. The shower room was modern with dual rain / personal shower heads and full bottles of shampoo & conditioner provided. A recognition of the warm summer we'd had was reflected in the provision of a free standing fan to stimulate air movement, but the room window did fully open. The window had a black out blind (a simple feature missing in many hotels) and heavy curtains so we always had a good nights sleep without having to revert to blindfolds. Nice free standing large screen TV with a good selection of free channels. Tesco filling station just up the road for comparitively cheap fuel.
proximity to a main road meant that you were treated to the local boy racer's exhaust modifications every evening. Light sockets had round pin plugs so you couldn't universally plug the kettle in to just any socket around the room (but that's a very minor gripe).

Stay here regularly throughout the year when racing is on , staff are amazing , can’t do enough for you .
Creaking floor board just outside room and the corridor fire door ,at said floorboard , needs a little wd40… 🤣…food n drink menu in hotel used to be very reasonably priced , now it’s went a bit more upmarket the prices have increased significantly in a very short space of time … eg . Bottle of wine now up to £25.50 , last year £22. Year before £19.50 … fish n chips £14,,, now £17 …as hotel prices go ,it’s still reasonable but , we’d probably eat elsewhere.. also won’t stop us from returning time n time again

We loved our stay at The Western House Hotel. The room we had was in the courtyard building next to the hotel. It was spacious comfortable and clean. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and kept in immaculate condition. We also liked the fact the we were right next to Ayr racecourse. Although there wasn't any racing taking place when we were there, you could feel the buzzing atmosphere there would be if there had been. There was live entertainment at night which we really enjoyed. I have to mention Gordon who warmly welcomed us on our arrival and showed us around some of the hotel. You were fantastic! Hopefully we will be back soon. Thank you

The room we had was in one of the adjacent buildings. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff in the main hotel were very cheery and attentive. The main hotel building is very nice indeed and is very well maintained. The breakfast was buffet with the option to have other choices prepared, all very nice. The hotel had lovely grounds which were also well maintained. We walked in to Ayr centre jn the evening which only took about 20 mins.
The only minor niggles were the fact that the seal on the shower screen was burst so the floor got pretty wet. We also found that the cold water tap ran hot water for a short period before going cold!! Finally we thought they were a bit mean with the tea/coffee/milk supplies in the room, only enough to have one cup each. But these are all minor issues and did not detract from our enjoyment.

Large comfortable room. Attentive and accommodating staff. Individually cooked and served breakfast w/teapot ++ Finally Free EV charging prior to departure (overnight) + Free parking in sight of room. Bravo !
Thoughtless parking by ICE or full charged car left in EV bay blocking others use. Perhaps a courtesy reminder to use E bay, but Not to overnight park there. There are over 200 alternative paring spots available on site. Had to park on grass to get close enough to connect. Why are the TESLA chargers not up and running again ?? Same problem last time I visited. Rant over: Otherwise a very pleasant and surprising reasonably priced stay. 5*

Overall the food was very good BUT the seasonal vegetables were served raw. Not Al Dente but rock solid RAW. The only way to eat them ...carrots and calabrese and green beans was to pick them up and crunch them. We asked every night for them to be cooked a little longer to no avail. We gave up the 4th night and had the side salad instead. The retail manager agreed with us, the veg were RAW , but there was no improvement. Will someone PLEASE talk to the chef? The staff were excellent, the atmosphere also excellent, the room size and decor was excellent.
The raw seasonal veg! We did have to ask for several items...eg tea, coffee, a kettle, missing towels, the phone needed new batteries, .light bulbs.... .lots of things, but our needs were attended to very quickly. The modern art abstract paintings did not suit the rest of the decor. The two disabled spaces were occupied by non disabled badge vehicles.Despite its failings we would stay again.

The Hotel emits quality from the moment you see it from the outside and when you step inside. Very luxuriously appointed fixtures and furnishings. The staff were friendly and professional especially in the restaurant. The menu choice was very good. We chose a rib eye steak for our evening meal and it ranked as one of the best we have ever had. Breakfast was of the same high quality. Serving portions were generous. We would return.
The one drawback to our room was the Hotels air conditioning equipment operating below our bedroom window. Double glazing would reduce the sound. There was no air conditioning in the bedroom.

Room was large, comfortable and warm. Great shower, internet and TV. Slept well. Breakfast in the main was self service buffet style which personally I dislike, but this was reasonably good, spoiled only by luke warm water for tea in dispenser. Had to ask for freshly boiled water which was served in a teapot. (Tea as it should be!) Dinner was described by my wife as excellent (Salmon and Leek) I rated my Dinner as Good (Filet Steak Stroganoff) Really appreciated free parking and free overnight charging for EV. (5 star.....)
Didn't stay long enough...but will be back in a couple of weeks.

The hotel and grounds were lovely, an amazing situation directly next to the racecourse. The restaurant was well staffed with attentive and friendly waiters, fantastic food, drinks and a relaxing bar lounge to head to after with our drinks. Our courtyard room although basic, was very clean, stocked with toiletries, towels, robe and slippers. A table and two comfy chairs were ideal for relaxing and for enjoying the breakfast served to our room. Ideal overlooking the racecourse and we had a super comfortable sleep. Overall a wonderful stay!
There was nothing negative, although we didn't see a lift for accessing the first floor courtyard rooms, which would have been handy for getting upstairs with the suitcases.

warm, clean, good powerful and warm shower and not far from town centre
shower was good but shower head and soap holder was dirty and outdated and loose and not very secure, tiles badly replaced and cold water came out roasting, had to run it for a bit to eventually get cold, no WIFI although advertised, bed was big and comfortable but was 2 singles pushed together and the split sometimes became awkward, and toilet seat was right next to the towel holder which became an awkward seating position .
