Excellent location for touring up and down the coast. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and offered a good range of options. We booked dinner for the second night of our stay and we both agreed the steak pie was the best we've ever eaten! Staff were friendly and helpful.

The only slight downside for us was a lot of traffic noise on the road which our room looked onto, which made it difficult to get to sleep the first night. Ear plugs and all the walking we'd done during the day meant it wasn't as noticeable the second night.

Fabulous from the moment we arrived excellent free parking to the reception greeting. Super professional and shown to our room something many hotels lack these days except abroad. Our room was superb spacious and beautifully decorated with attention to detailing especially the bathroom design choices we'd have choosen for our building projects. We were made to feel super welcome and the staff very attentive. The public areas again beautifully furnished and recently completed in February we were told. Our buffet breakfast for starters a good selection of cereals, natural yogurt with berry compote, fruits, juices and bread. We are offered a cooked breakfast of our choice to create. Definitely look forward to staying here again to get to the Arran ferry a few minutes drive away. Dogs are super welcome in some rooms.

Absolutely nothing to dislike super impressed and in the end no matter how lovely the decor is it's the staff who make the place and they've certainly achieved this.

Staff were very friendly and nothing was any bother. The room was lovely and large facing main street. Most of the time the food was excellent. There was an impressive display of breakfast products when we arrived with a choice of hot food to order. We used handy local transport with bus stops outside and met friendly local people.

One course in particular was disappointing. It was listed as a selection of meats and cheeses. What was presented was one kind of ham and two varieties of cheese. Also the croissants could have been fresher or warmed up.

Room was a great size

Stayed on the opening night of the Euros. Scotland v Germany. Went to the bar to watch it. They told us they weren't allowed to put the sound on. Bar was empty with no atmosphere. We ended up going to our room to watch it & bringing in our own refreshments. I can understand when it's club games not wanting the sound on but when it's to support your country in a huge game I couldn't understand the policy at all. Missed opportunity for the hotel & a disappointment for us.

As in most cases the staff of a hotel contribute to either making the stay pleasant or unpleasant. In the case of The Loans Inn they were excellent. A special thanks to Gordon Fulton. Gordon handled our complicated bookings with a smile and was friendly and efficient all through our stay. We shall make The Loans Inn our stop-over location when visiting family in Scotland. Difficult to find anything wrong - keep up the good work.

Good sized car park for visitors, easy access to the inn and all the rooms. Huge rooms, plenty of space in the room itself and the bathroom. Loved having a bath and shower in the room. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well looked after with a lovely touch of fresh water and biscuits left out ready for the dog friendly rooms 💕. The roof terrace was a lovely space to chill and spend some time relaxing . Hospitality at its best all the staff were approachable, friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful going above and beyond. Thank you💕 Lovely communal park and dog walking area to the rear of the property, great for kids and dog walkers alike. Continental breakfast was great a lovely spread, and a good selection of hot Scottish breakfast treats to order. Most important to me great coffee to set you on your day! Great location close to Troon and Ardrossan for ferry’s to the islands 🥰

We had a lovely, comfortable stay over New Year. We wanted a nice, chilled, cosy few days and that's exactly what we got at the Loans Inn. The food was lovely, I was very impressed with the vegan options available. The room was lovely, very comfortable and clean. We also loved how dog friendly the hotel was, our pup had the best time and it was lovely that she could dine with us. We appreciated the recommended doggy walks, the location was great, a lovely walk into Troon.

My family and I just loved this bright, clean and super friendly hotel. It just oozes warmth and comfort, plus our dog was welcomed too. The food was great too, we couldn’t find a flaw while we were there and still can’t. We will recommend this place to anyone.

There is nothing we didn’t like, even now I’m struggling to find a small issue. All the staff were so lovely and the place was spotless. Our room was big, comfortable and complete with everything we needed and more

A very warm welcome when we arrived. Warm and comfortable room with a tray of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits on and best bit was the cups they was mugs not small cups. Nice breakfast, which consist of a cold buffet followed by hot choice of the usual stuff i.e. full Scottish, bacon/sausage roll etc etc. Staff was very pleasant and helpful at all times. A great BIG thank you to everyone of you for a lovely stay.

I just found it a bit difficult trying to get in/out of the shower { the shower is over the bath} because there was no rail for me to get hold off even though they give me a shower matt to put in the bath. this is just my personal opinion.

A very dog friendly hotel, food and water was waiting in the room and sausages were offered at breakfast. We had dinner and drinks on the evening and were pleasantly surprised - a step up from usual pub grub. All staff were friendly and the room was clean with Scottish soap and shortbread which is a nice touch.

If I could improve one thing it would be the mattress, it seemed a little past it's best as you could feel the springs.
