A really nicely designed place. Modern, stylish, and very thoughtful in its design. The kitchen had excellent utensils and everything was high end and all you could want. The 2 TVs, one each for large living room and bedroom were large, modern and excellent. I really liked the space offered by the separate living/kitchen area and bedroom and bathroom. Scotts restaurant next door was also excellent for high quality breakfasts and dinner. There is also a view over the yachts in the Harbour which was nice to sit in the small but lovely outdoor table and chairs.

Its right next door to a timber yard, the place itself seems to be run by a yachting concern which was a bit weird but no complaints about that bit. Despite all those great things above, it was expensive, but having said that, I was there at peak season, and anything decent seemed to have inflated prices.

The apartment was really comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches that added a sense of luxury like gorgeous locally sourced toiletries, heaps of towels, slippers and a fun welcome basket of snacks. The staff in reception could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. The whole experience was perfect.

The restaurant above the apartments (Scott’s) was a bit hit and miss. Beautifully decorated but at the expense of anything to soak up the ambient noise, we were having to lean in and shout to each other. Staff were perfectly polite but not helpful in their info and the food was nicely presented but very lacklustre in terms of taste and quality for the high prices. Such a shame as it should be the icing on the cake of visiting that location. Not the apartments fault and wouldn’t stop me staying there but if the restaurant food improves that would be an even bigger draw.

Valentine Break In Troon February 2025 Our first impressions when we got to The Salt Lodge was WOW, The scenery is just outstanding, On checking in we were welcomed and shown to our lodge (NO.3). Quick wee run through what was in the lodge and the workings of things, we were left to get settled in. First impressions on the lodge were 5* Fantastic and we still had the same feeling when we left 3 days later. The bed was massive and comfortable, pillows and linen were of high quality, Large LCD Tv in bedroom as well. The bathroom was superb, full walk-in shower, heated towel rail and plenty space. The kitchen space had everything you needed for the short break away, 2 Ring Hob, Full size fridge & compartment freezer, Full size kettle & Toaster, Sink with drainer board, Full cutlery and crockery sets and all the cupboards you required. a few added touches like sugar sachets, coffee & Tea, packet of biscuits and other snacks to be had, 2 bottles of water in the fridge, full recycle bins and small paper baskets around the lodge. But the best part we had in Lodge No.3 was the stunning terrace with views. We have also found our new island hop, the ferry from Troon takes you into Brodick (in 75mins) on the Isle of Arran........ Absolutely fantastic. we would 100% return for another few days.

Fantastic apartments overlooking the marina which was beautiful. Great location and fab restaurant next door to apartment. Dog friendly too and even left a doggy pack of biscuits, poo bags and even a dog toy which was very cute. Great big shower and they provided shampoo, conditioner and shower gel which smells amazing.

The only criticism I would say they aren't soundproofed as we could hear guests above us. Also we had a 1 bedroom apartment and daughter was on the sofabed in living room. There are no doors on bedroom.

Very comfortable apartment overlooking the marina with lovely terrace to enjoy the view and watch the boats come and go. Clean and well-equipped with the convenience of an EV charger right outside. Dog friendly too.

Noise from apartment above…constant pacing and stomping late at night. Maybe carpeted flooring upstairs would help. No doggy welcome pack as described by other reviewers.

Clean and good location and very helpful friendly staff. Would recommend it - although expensive!

Photos on site looked like walk-in shower so disappointed over/bath shower and no non-slip shower mat. I have recently had knee ops so getting into a bath not possible/safe. Perhaps pictures are generic for the flats in the building? No egg cups!! Generator outside the bedroom window so couldn’t have it open at night.

My appartment was beautiful , clean and very comfortable. The location is quiet with the beautiful views into yatch harbour, There is a restaurant upstairs that is always busy and advisable to book ahead. The staff are efficient, yet relaxed and friendly. The place is ideal for a quiet restful break away. The town centre and beach are not too far away, if you enjoy a walk and 10 min in the car. Overall. Highly recommended.

I didn't find any areas needing inprovement. I was very satisfied.

Perfect location for me. I am not very mobile so like a restaurant within yards in case that's all I can manage. I did make it out both nights (3idiots and Harbour Bar) and used Scotts for breakfast (all great places). I had found these places online myself and when we arrived the staff confirmed they were nice (and not too far). The room/apartment itself was lovely, just as advertised. You could indeed look out at the marina (some days I can't leave the house so a view is really appreciated) and we watched all the comings and goings for a while from inside (too cold for the balcony). It was very nicely decorated and had everything that other places sometimes get wrong (like full length mirror, a dressing table, good hairdryer) and lots of tea/coffee, etc which is rare and I usually take some just in case but trust me you don't need anything. They even left some still water and wee bottles of prosecco in the fridge which was a lovely touch. I spotted salt and pepper just as we were leaving and that's unheard of in my experience. Can't think of a thing to complain about (not like me!). We would come back here.

The weather was pretty awful but that's the chance you take in the UK!

Great view of harbour. Close to shops. Room exceptionally clean which is rare. Lovely little added touches and extras in bathroom and kitchen. Great parking. Safe.

Local taxi service very expensive to get around but not fault of the Salt Lodge. If we had known this beforehand we would not have stayed here. Cost £100 return to get to Saltcoats which was more than our total petrol cost from the midlands to Troon!

Fantastic apartment, beautifully decorated and furnished. Well maintained and clean. There was everything provided that you could possibly need. Great range of toiletries. There were lots of special touches. The view was amazing. Salt Lodge is within walking distance to local amenities, shops, restaurants, etc. Scott's restaurant is on site of the Marina - very handy. Overall, Salt Lodge is a very special place - we will definitely return.
