The location was perfect as it was 5 minutes away from the Gariety theatre, the staff was friendly, helpful and the hotel is a lovely hotel to stay at and near to train Station. Next time I will stay at this hotel to see a show at the Theatre 😃👍🏼

Only 1 thing, my room was 669 and you can tell everyone sleeps on the left hand side. Is the any chance of the mattress moving to top and bottom for the next person to sleep on. As on the second night, I slept on the right hand side, as that was nice and hard, not like my first night a big dip in the mattress. A part from that. Could not fault it any where 👍🏼

The hotel is well located for the town centre and the beach, and sign posting from the main routes into the town is pretty good so it is easy to find. It has a shared car park at the back of the hotel which isn’t entirely secure but is decent enough. Beware of the seagulls who will leave a mess on your car!! The parking is also locally chargeable but I think it was £7 per night so quite reasonable. The reception is welcoming and there is a comfortable bar area. My room was on the top floor and there is a lift. My room was a fair size, standard double, and had a good en suite. It was comfortable overall. I don’t try the food or drinks when I was there as it was just a quick stop over, but the bar menu looked good.

It’s not the most visually appealing place in the world from the outside, but inside it’s absolutely fine and what you would expect from a Mercure. Nothing else rally to mention here. It is a decent option for short stays in Ayr.

My partner and I stay regularly, and we find this hotel meets all of our needs. The hotel is really clean and smells absolutely wonderful. The beds are always perfectly comfortable and clean. They are an eco-friendly hotel with lots to offer such as a gym, spa facilities, dining area and bar open 24/7 We have booked doubles and privileged doubles and have always been just what we need being local to the town and beach The beach view rooms offer an absolutely stunning view, and it has become a favourite pastime to watch the sun rise and sun set from the comfort of our bed

We had one occasion when we were asked if we were smoking, and it most certainly wasn't us. We were rudly interrupted during an intimate moment... my partner was mortified when answering the door to the hotel manager. It was soon resolved, and my partner and I then felt extremely on edge for a while as we didn't want any issues as we regularly frequent the mercure and honestly enjoy our stay each time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was visiting Scotland for a few days. The Mercure was located, within walking distance of the beach, shops and the railway station. I enjoy travelling, so having the railway station nearby was an extra bonus! If you enjoy golf, you could visit the Royal Troon Golf Club, which is a few miles away, and there are daily sailings from Troon Harbour to the Isle of Arran! I found everyone to be lovely. My special thanks to the chef who kindly offered to prepare some vegetarian sausages which were delicious! Thank you.

No comments. There was nothing to dislike. Scotland was lovely to visit.

Good location in Ayr. Handy for the beach and town centre. Pleasantly surprised to see Mahou availble on draught at the bar. Breakfast was good. We stayed in a superior double room which comprised off the main bedroom area, with a second room off of it, with 2 additional beds, which was good because it meant my wife and I could stay up a bit later and watch TV, whilst my infant son went to bed - hotel provide a cot for use at no additional charge.

Very clean and perfect location, nice decor and most staff were very helpful. Saturday at breakfast Donald and other man were great and chatty and friendly. Reception ladies and bar staff were very friendly.

Second day at breakfast the staff were unhelpful and grumpy, young staff member in black uniform running about but the man on welcome was not that helpful and hardly any food out, asked for Scottish porridge but never got it.

Check in was easy, Receptionist was cheerful and helpful,, no problems anywhere.

Car park was full when we arrived but there is parking across the road. Didn't like the seagulls, a bit noisy with the pub across the road as people sitting outside on a fine night but quiet after 11 o'clock. These are things outside your control. I am not a cooked breakfast person so maybe a continental breakfast could be an option included in the price with a voucher system for a cooked breakfast

Very good breakfast, both quality and service. We didn't catch the name of the boy serving the hot food at the buffet. He served us with a smile, very helpful, polite, and professional. He was always on top of everything at the buffet near where the hot food was served.

The condition of the hotel doesn't reflect the high price, could do with a refurbishment

Location is great. Staff very helpful especially Meghan at reception who dealt with a room change request very quickly. Watched the sun setting over Arran from our Seaview room. Great big TV in the room and the beds were really comfortable. Staff at the bar were very friendly and efficient too. Will definitely return.

I liked the comfort of the hotel, everything necessary is there. I enjoyed the breakfast but I would like more rolls, more of an assortment of breads. I would like more yogurts and fruit salad. I loved the dinner, really delicious. The staff were excellent: there but not there :always there when I needed them and knowledgeable about everything to do with the hotel and discreet and in the background at other times.. The staff were helpful in explaining how the breakfast service works and at dinner they were very attentive. There was always someone on reception. Very pleasant stay.

The first morning there was a hair in the bath, however the bathroom was better cleaned later that day.The room cleaning could have been done more nicely.The electricity socket didn't always work first time when I plugged the kettle in and my phone charger.
