The hotel is in a excellent location. The staff and owners were lovely. It was great to see owners of a hotel mixing with guests and working the front desk bar and restaurant. They were very welcoming and stopped to have a chat with us on quite a few occasions. The food in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. They also had a 90’s tribute on and all hotel guests were treated to it with a 2 course meal and arrival drink which i thought was a lovely idea. We will 100% stay again

beds were not the best beds i’ve slept in but still got a full nights sleep. these new owners have just purchased it a few months ago so i expect great things here

Location was great and Hotel was easy to find. Breakfast was good

On arrival I had to wait stood at the reception desk for over 15 mins while staff showed no acknowledgement of my arrival. Various staff saw me standing at the desk, but no-one wanted to take the initiative to welcome a paying guest and check me in. Eventually, I had to take the lead and approach the staff near the bar to get someone to check me in. Unbelievably poor customer service in this instance. The mattress in room '10' was way past its best and needs replacing. A big dip in the centre of the mattress which was very uncomfortable. Thats my moan over with. I wouldn't normally leave such a review, but I hope this helps the hotel improve a couple of things. Apart from these two points, the hotel was pleasant to stay at.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, the staff were polite and friendly. The two ladies that were on the breakfast shift were brilliant, they were friendly, polite, always smiling, nothing was too much trouble, a true asset to the Hotel.

The room was very warm, we turned off the radiator in the bedroom, but couldn’t turn off the one in the bathroom, even keeping the bathroom door shut and having the window open ( it only opened a wee bit) it was still roasting, we found it difficult to sleep, in the Winter it would of been perfect.

The location of the hotel was perfect and so easy to find. It is very relaxed and the staff were so friendly, there wasn’t one member of staff that walked past us without saying hello or engaged in conversation. The rooms are very well equipped with tea/coffee facilities and toiletries if needed. The food in the restaurant was lovely and breakfast the next morning was probably the hottest we’ve had at a hotel from a buffet, also lots of other choices if you don’t want a fried breakfast.

I wouldn’t say there was anything I didn’t like about the property and this isn’t a complaint, but there is only a curtain in the bedroom so when it was closed there was a gap down the left side of the window where the bed was and outside of our window was a garden area with benches. I didn’t think too much of it so I don’t know if anyone could have seen in or not but maybe a blind as well as the curtain would give a little more privacy.

The interiors are lovely, beautiful big fireplace, the hotel is so clean, such a lovely receptionist. The bar staff & the servers are good craic, very helpful, knowledgeable & genuinely care for their guests. The food is out of this world, the Chefs are so talented. Can heartily recommend the Cajun chicken pasta & prawn linguine. The breakfasts are helping yourself, with tea, coffee & toast being brought by the cheerful Servers. The carvery on Sunday is outstanding . Great selection of meats, veg & potatoes, the turkey was so moist & tender. The chicken pokara as a starter was delicious . Recommend you book for Sunday's or ud be disappointed . Our room was extremely comfortable, clean & plenty of room, to include lovely table & chairs to relax on. Shower was easy to use, & plenty of wardrobe space. A great stay.

nothing.

Clean throughout. Comfortable bed. Came across a problem with key and approached a staff member at reception called Julia who was very helpful in every way possible to resolve our problem and gave us another room without any hesitation as there was only one key for that particular room we were in and didn't fault us in anyway for the key breaking in the lock as it couldn't have been helped and could have happened to anyone. Attractice staff like Julia is a credit to your business. We would stay here again and the reason we would stay here again is because of Julia's kindness and professional manner

Nothing we didn't like

Breakfast, price and service were very good. Handy for travelling as easy access to M77. Warm.

Room 8 Matresses are past it. Twin room, and you could feel the mattress springs were really worn. Bathroom, some of seal round the bath was black, hole in back of bathroom door where hook used to be. Door tatty and needs replaced. We knew by the price that it wouldn't be perfect.

Staff were very welcoming, the hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. If you like a hot soak in the bath, then the water comes in the hottest temperature, bliss! We had an issue with the shower tripping and 2 staff members dropped what they were doing to resolve that within minutes of reporting the issue

The hotels only downfall was maintenance, the walls were marked, painted radiator was chipped, the grout was missing on floor tiles, the shower hose was getting rusty, the window was broken letting a lot of noise in and in the bar area the seats were very comfortable, but very thread-bare This isn't a complaint, the hotel was fabulous, but not without minor maintanence issues, which did not effect our stay. This is only to ensure a balanced review

Staff were very friendly and thr hotel isnt far from the city centre. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and was good value for money.

The only thing that was an issue was where our room was situated. We were on the ground floor and could hear the traffic pass all night on the motorway so didnt sleep well.

Rooms are a little tired but overall clean. I did find a sweet wrapper poking out from under the bed, but these things can happen. Staff are all very friendly. Breakfast is very nice with plenty of choice and the breakfast ladies were very attentive.

Could do with better soundproofing for the widows due to such close proximity to M77 but we have stayed before and this is something that doesn't affect our stay.
