This is a hotel that doesn’t just say it is dog friendly, it truly is. This was our second stay and won’t be our last! We had a fabulous spacious room, with a door directly out to the car park, so handy to take our dog out in the early hours. The breakfast was wonderful, our dog loved her morning sausage, we loved our freshly made breakfasts and as we sat in the lounge area we didn’t have to put the dog in the car at this time. There was not a member of staff who didn’t speak to us, we were treated with a friendly and helpful attitude throughout our stay.

The hotel was great, with nice staff. The sleep I got was fantastic. I tried to get the mattresses into my case, but they would not fit. The only thing that would stop me from going back was the breakfast, it was horrendous, the sausages were cheap, the potato scones looked like they were done in a deep fryer, horrible, masty, soggy, the only good thing on my plate was the egg, they have to improve the breakfast 100 % but overall the hotel was great, as Im disabled I could not have a shower because there was no handrails in the shower so had nothing to hold on to they have to look into this and fit rails in their rooms

We should have stayed longer. Location was tops. Clean, free parking, no stairs to our apartment. Comfy bed. Very clean. Restaurant on site which is handy.

They apparently had space to upgrade us to a sea view room but wanted an additional £15 for the night. They would have been better off to upgrade for free and have a very happy customer but...... We chose not to pay the extra. Reception said we didn't have breakfast included. When we checked out there was a charge for breakfast that they wouldn't credit us for. We delayed our departure to eat breakfast but it was rushed as a result.

Clean and comfortable, also the staff were excellent especially the Guy in the restaurant at breakfast, so accommodating, please tell him there was 6 of us in the restaurant on Monday morning and he served us, he was BRILLIANT.

Very strict 3pm check in, and we were told to change in the toilets on arrival when we arrived at 1pm, thought at least they could of offered us 1 room between 6 of us and we were going to a reunion and had been travelling for 4 hours , also when we rang up about it prior to getting to the hotel the lady was quite rude on the phone !!

Fantastic hotel. Great location on the seafront. It was lovely having our breakfast looking out over the sea. Room was OK, only criticism was there had been 2 holes in bathroom door which had been patched in but other than that couldn't fault the hotel. The breakfast was very good. Selection of fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, croissants, toast, full Scottish breakfast or you could choose what you wanted, different types of eggs,beans on toast. It also has its own car park but there is a free car park just across the road from the hotel if you can't get in the hotel one. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

We love the location, the friendly staff, the ambience, and the price.

We have stayed here numerous times and it is a dog friendly hotel. That is until one group, this stay, with a persistently yapping small dog, caused upset and annoyance to all other guests. During our dinner. During the night. During our breakfast. At one point, it lunged at my wife's legs in an aggressive manner. We were disappointed that it appeared over our 4 day stay that management made no attempt to curtail the dog or owners.

Staff were very pleasant and I appreciate their help moving in earlier than the checkout time. The showers were a little poor however so the rating is lowered, otherwise very happy with the price to room ratio. The location is very good with sea side views also, so worth for that alone for a short stay.

The showers were not great (would give a 10 otherwise), very basic and the shower curtains did not stop the water from overflowing onto the bathroom flooring and carpet near the bathroom door.

I had a last minute trip to pick up some kittens and due to the travel involved required to spend the night before travelling back on trains. I called the hotel to confirm the kittens would be fine which they verified with an extra £10 per pet charge which seemed fine especially given the hotel room cost was already lower than others in the area. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how nice the hotel was. The reception area was nicely decorated and clean. The room itself was great and managed to sleep fine, excluding a wake up call from the kittens. The bathroom was also perfect for giving the kittens some supervised outside of carrier time as no gaps or anywhere for them to damage. Bed was comfy. I only had a brief stay and arrived in dark and left in morning (lots of kitten watching in the bathroom) so did not get a chance to explore the area. It was a 25 minute walk from station which was tricky as few road crossings but taxis only £5 and they have an app you can use for taxis estimates. The sea view I briefly saw in morning and very short walk from hotel.

The views from our room were great. The beach is across the road. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more attentive. There was a lift directly to the floor where my Mother’s room was which was important due to mobility issues. The bar and reception areas are clean and welcoming.

The room was very comfortable and functional with unhindered views across the firth towards Arran. A real delight to sit and have a coffee and look out at after waking up. The room itself though would benefit from some modernisation to bring it into sync with the front of house areas which are modern. Having said that the room was very comfortable, warm and pleasant to stay in and I’d recommend it to family and friends.

Everything really! Great location overlooking the sea and ten minutes walk to the town. Friendly and helpful staff. Particular mention to Zoe who looked after us brilliantly at dinner in the Hotel restaurant, both nights we were there and accommodated our food requests with no problem. Room clean and comfortable, with adjustable heating controls and an excellent shower.

Pillows a little flat for me and not much natural lighting in the room, but this is being picky.
