The hotel is a beautiful modern design. The bar is a lovely are and happy hour es great 2 x 1. The food is buffet style for breakfast but lots of good healthy options. The spa area is beautiful. The porters take your bags to the train station for you which is great.

The massage was not good compared to the street massages so needs some improvement. The spa area has huge bad noise from the bar opposite because the stairway is open. This needs fixing as you can hear booming music in the massage rooms! Not very relaxing.

Central location. Pretty good breakfast buffet. Best modern hotel in the area.

The noise level. Walls are thin. We had a hard time sleeping in due to constant door slamming and other noises. Bring your noise cancellation headphones! Rooms and beds are small. Our room also had occasional putrid sewage odor, but I guess that can occur when they use septic tank? The hotel is in Aguas Calientes, so I don't expect it to have any fancy plumbing system or waste management center, but the smell was very off putting. I was scared to step into our bathroom. Kitchen staff need more training. Breakfast buffet was a bit inconsistent. At 5:00 am it looked great, but by 8:00 am, the selection looks sad.

The location was excellent, close to the train station and the buses going to Machu Picchu. The rooms were comfortable, and i slept very well. I had the half-board rate which included dinner - which had great options. Breakfast was also good. It get a bit busy when there are groups, but nothing a little patience can’t resolve. i had 5 hrs wait for my train back to Cusco, so I booked a massage and made use of the spa - best use of time.

The location was convenient. The staff was helpful. We had two rooms (a suite and a twin room) and they were both very clean. The suite was fairly spacious. We arrived in the evening so it was nice to have dinner included.

The hotel was noisy. We went to bed early because we had to get up early in the morning for Machu Picchu. However, the windows do not seal shut when closed so we could still hear music and people talking. Bring your noise canceling earbuds. There should also be a shelf in the shower to put toiletries.

A brand new hotel 7 minutes from the train station and 3 minutes from the bus stop. We didn’t expect a very nice dinner to be included to the room price besides the breakfast. Also, they meet you at the station and if you need to leave luggage at the storage, they can bring it right to the station too. Staff overall was very nice and helpful.

Breakfast is in the restaurant outside and early in the morning everything would get cold right away.

Excellent service, great location, fantastic restaurant -- a great choice for staying in the heart of Aguas Calientes! However, we stayed here after hiking the last seven hours of the Inca Trail and were exhausted (probably also because we were so excited for our hike we hadn't slept much the night before!), so I was surprised to learn from our guide the following day that AC is quite a party town. Great if you're celebrating your Inca Trail accomplishment; not so great if you just want to sleep. After a full day hiking and a delicious, filling dinner with yummy cocktails in the El MaPi restaurant, we wanted to crash early. The live music was loud and festive and sounded really fun -- I wish we had had the energy to join in rather than praying for it to stop!

Bed sheets were a little scratchy, but overall a great hotel.

Nice, modern hotel which is much bigger than it first appears. Great location right in the centre of Machu Picchu Pueblo so dozens of restaurants and bars just outside the door. Also bus to the sanctuary was only about 100 yards away, although it is such a small town that everywhere is close. Staff meeting at station to help with luggage is a great bonus.

Although the restaurant was very good both atmosphere, decor and food and service. it was mandatory included in room rate and it might have been nice to eat out at least once.

We were in a generously sized three-person suite. Staff handling check-in/out were helpful; in particular, the logistics of trains and site entry hours made El Mapi's ability to manage everyone and their left-luggage all the more impressive. Also excellent service meeting us at arrival train & bringing luggage to departure train. Relatively quiet and good value, given the crowded location, reachable only by train

Bathroom is poorly designed for a three-person suite. Shower, toilet and sink to service three people are all in a single space with only glass doors for 'privacy'. Also the master bedroom has only a curtain of separation. Power-crazed staff manning the restaurant seating. All booths were being kept free for 'fours with reservations'; of whom, zero appeared. (We had four people, but had only reserved for three)

Miriam on reception was a superstar. She walked with us to the govt building and bus office to finalise our MP booking. Without her help we may have missed the experience of a lifetime. Thankyou for your help

Only criticism - Dinner was OK but service a little slow. Ordered coffee and ended up eating pudding and waiting too long!

El Mapi is a very good value for money choice in Aguas Calientes. The hotel offers all the amenities and the comfort of a modern hotel and is situated in the centre of the town. Breakfast and dinner were fair enough.

During all our stay in the lobby area, in the breakfast area and the restaurant the hotel seemed overcrowded with the staff struggling to keep up with the huge workload. Not the best soundproofing on the rooms.
