I booked Casa Del Sol because of its location, which is right next to the bus station to ascend to Machu Picchu and not too far from the train station from Cusco, so I didn't expect much more than a clean room; however, the staff is phenomenal, from the person who greeted us at the train & took both of our luggages and ran with them to the hotel, to the checking-in staff, with big warm unpretentious smiles... all run by Alcides, the general manager, who seems to be on the floor from dusk till dawn?! He overlooks things with a calm demeanor and care, who authorized for us to take a shower in their spa after our next day hike, which well passed the check-out time. We are so grateful because our train co-passengers would have not appreciated the smelly sweaty us after our hike down the mountain!?:-) The room is nice and the bed is comfy. The jacuzzi is a nice touch, looking out at the Machu Picchu mountain — though hot water ran out before it filled up for my bath but it's not a big deal — we didn't come for the jacuzzi!

That we didn't have time to stay one more night?

There are many incredible things to note about Casa del Sol. First of all, the manager of the hotel, Alcides, went out of his way to accommodate my mother and I on many occasions at the hotel. He greeted us with refreshing lemonades and easy conversation. My mother had left her walking sticks in Cusco ahead of our much anticipated hiking trip to Machu Picchu and Alcides went out of his way to find one to lend to us. He changed my massage time at the last minute and met us at the train station to bid us farewell with a gift. It was absolutely unexpected and lovely. We booked 10 hotels during our three week journey throughout Peru and Alcides was the only manager who went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. Far and beyond what we would expect. The breakfast was exceptional and massage incredible. We highly recommend this hotel! Thank you Alcides!

The location was great, so as staffs. It's only 5min walk to the bus station. Staffs are nice, and provide train station pick-up and send-off if you requested. The room is roomy, clean and appointed in every way, except the lighting condition. It's dark, only bed head light and doorway light. The bathroom is very modern, with all the amenity, and well lighted. We got a room facing the railway track, but train runs in-frequently at night so the noise is minimum. The staff is very nice. The breakfast is OK, not fancy, but sufficient enough to start a day.

This is a wonderful Boutique Hotel in the centre of Agua Calientes. Our room was beautifully clean with crisp sheets and white fluffy towels. It overlooked the river and we enjoyed using the hot tub after our trip to Machu Picchu. We came up on the Hiham Bingham train abd were advised to stay at yhe Belmond Sanctuary. Having seen both we are delighted we chose to srsu here. The breakfast was excellent and Carlos, the jefe serves, was wonderful and made our stay for my husband's birthday very special. The level of service is outstanding. We cannot recommend this hotel more highly if you want to stay in town. They met us at the station and have looked after is ever since. We are sad to go.

Cleanliness the location and above all the staff.

The Casa del Sol is located just 1min walk away from the train station. You can reach everything in few steps. The city center is just 150m away. Just Perfect. The rooms are on a modern standard with a lovely individual touch. If available book the river side. You have a great view of Urubamba river. This makes your stay even more special. The service is outstanding. Alcines, the manager helped us to get last minute tickets for Machu Picchu. He came with us to the Ministry of culture and translated for us. Thanks for all your help! Breakfast Buffet is really nice. With all you may want for good breakfast including freshly made Omelett. The service from Maria made our mornings chilled and enjoyable. Just say - book Casa del Sol for your Machu Picchu experience and my recommendation is, book at least 2 nights for a chilled and smooth visit to the holy Inka Mountain. Frank

The location of the hotel is excellent. A few steps near the buses to the site. And the best thing is the staff. They make the stay great. They were waiting for us at the train station. And they escorted us to the train at the end. They helped me with everything I wanted. They arranged a wheelchair for me in advance. They helped me realize my mother's dream and I thank them for that.

We had dinner in a restaurant. The atmosphere is heavy. The place is really bright. The service is slow. The food is not that tasty and expensive. But that's not a problem. There are many restaurants nearby and double the buffet with live music. So the hotel is really excellent.

The room, location and restaurant are the Best in Aguas Calientes. The best choice ever, next to the train station. The waitress CARLOS is a must, kind, proactive and very atencious, congratulations forna great associate. He made us feel like at home. You must stay at Casa del Sol. Also they recommended a Guide Alberto who is perfect, ask them to get Beto for your trip. They help you with the luggage to amd from the train station, very kind, Edwin is the guy.

Restaurant could offer more main dish options, although the existent are great, but few choices.

The hotel is very clean. We had a very comfortable stay! We were greeted by friendly staff during the most comfortable check in process where we sat on a couch and the receptionist came to us to confirm our booking. We were then upgraded to a river view room. The water rushing water sounds were so relaxing. The shower and hot water felt amazing!!! The next morning I was met by Maria and Maylin with a birthday cake and beautiful birthday celebration. I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for a beautiful stay

1st , we were informed that we got a room upgrade upon arrival. Our room was on the 5th floor, Like the one in the picture, a king bed with a sun room enclosed patio with a jacuzzi tub in it. It was right on the River with a beautiful view. Diana at the front desk was very frindly and helpful in holding our luggage safely while we went to Machu Pichu after we checked out. Edwin from the hotel greeted us at the train when we arrived at the station, and he walked us a very short distance to the hotel. The restaurant food and ambiance was fabulous! Dinner and breakfast was included in in the price of the room...Its ran like a 4 star restraunt..gourmet food, professional service...The room was clean and comfortable, upscale.
