Located right beside the PeruRail train station, 3 minutes walk to the bus stop and bus ticket booth for Machu Picchu, 5 minutes walk to the main plaza. Machu Picchu town is veryyyy small. I really appreciated the staff for preparing breakfast in a paperbag as I left at 5am for Machu Picchu (comprised of banana, fruit juice, quinoa snack and bread with jam). The room (bed was comfy) and ensuite bathroom was clean and there’s hot shower! There’s sufficient space in the lockers in the room. They also provided a clean towel and a soap. Each bed has their own light and charging point. I could get hot water for tea from the bar above. There are some places to chill in the hostel but I didn’t make use of those spots.
Would be good if there’s a kitchen that travelers could use and if there’s refillable water (they had a jug of water behind the bar counter that I had to ask the staff for but the jug was empty and they weren’t going to refill it and suggested me to buy bottled water from them instead). Didn’t like to buy plastic bottled water and also, water is sold at a ridiculous price in Machu Picchu town. The hostel is right on the train tracks and trains arrive very frequently so it could be quite noisy but it didn’t affect me that much. Note that there are quite a bit of stairs to climb up to whichever room you are at (bar is at the final/ 4th floor). Would be great if there’s a floor mat in the toilet because the floor can get very wet after shower.

It was a clean, peaceful and comfortable stay for Machu Picchu. All the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. I felt welcome. Thanks especially to Franklin for advice about Machu Picchu options and overall great service. It was a relaxing bonus to have 2 break out areas in the hotel. A hot shower (and hairdryer!) is also fab. As Aguas Calientes is a jungle location in the valley below Machu Picchu, it’s practically more challenging to provide all services which are taken for granted in a well connected city. I noticed when researching that many accommodations were having hot water issues, but I didn’t have problems during my stay here.
I noticed a few reviews about the train noise. It’s really happening often, plus you can hear the trains throughout all Aguas Calientes. It’s part of the landscape and charm of the place.

This is the perfect stay for your Machu Picchu visit. For the price point in Aguas Calientes you won’t get better. Breakfast is included, and they make you a little lunch box if you have an early entrance. Bed is comfy, location excellent , and the owner really helped me with all the info I needed, to get my ticket and have a nice visit. I could use the kitchen to prepare something veggie, which was really helpful. It is also quiet, perfect for resting. All in all I can really recommend this place.

The location is perfect, easy to find. The staff is so very helpful - they even helped me with my telephone problem - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Beds are comfortable with warm blakets, have light and plugs (which sometimes cannot hold and fall out). Breakfast is good - omlet, bread and fruit. Can have tea anytime you want. Very nice common area with sofas.
Was a bit damp, but its the common problem in the local climate. There was a smell of passing trains even with the windows closed. Luckily there were no trains at night.

The location right on the platform was super appreciated as I arrived at night in the rain. Train door to hostel door in five seconds. Staff was really friendly and helpful! I was alone in my four-bed dorm both nights (mind you this was February, lowest of low seasons) so was obviously very appreciative of the unexpected privacy ☺️. Very comfortable beds and hot shower 👍 👍 👍 . Beautiful roof terrace! Especially liked the woven textiles, the plants, the board games and the interesting array of books and magazines ❤️
More extra blankets in the rooms would be nice, it got cold!

The hostel was very clean, which made the stay comfortable. I appreciated the early breakfast left at the reception. It was convenient for those of us with early departures.
While the room and reception being open all the time is convenient, there was no staff around, which made it feel insecure. It would be easy for someone to enter the room or steal luggage from the reception area without being noticed. More staff presence or security measures would improve the safety.

Super nice and welcoming staff, very patient with our limited Spanish. A very comfortable bed with 4 pillows, a very warm blanket, and a strong hot shower in our private bathroom. A great view from the window onto the surrounding hills. Beautiful upstairs patio with a superb view for a daily included breakfast. When we left super early to visit Machu Pichu, to-go breakfasts were provided for us to enjoy. In total, a gem of a place. Highly recommend!
Everything was great!

The staff were very accommodating and helped us modify our booking. We had a large private room with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen! Bathroom was clean. It was the perfect base to see MP and also go to the hot springs. The views from the roof kitchen area were beautiful as well as good people watching from the train!

Breakfast was simple and basic. Location was in the center of the town.
This was the only hostel to charge a 5% fee for using my credit card for my entire trip in Peru. That’s quite a lot. I didn’t see any written signs of 5% credit card fee specified on Booking.com website.
