They start serving breakfast from 5 a.m. so it helps if you have an early time slot at Machupicchu. Among the various hotels we stayed during our visit to South America, Smaq Machupicchu was the only hotel where a “standard room” had a bathtub.

Facing the river means facing the main street in Machupicchu Town, so in retrospect a room with a garden view may have been more quiet.

Excellent hotel with superb staff. We didn't book tickets for Machu Picchu but the hotel staff helped us navigate the very complex system to buy tickets and we had a fantastic stay overall. Reception and dining staff were always trying to make us feel welcome and were simply amazing.

We had an amazing stay at the Sumaq Hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was amazing, and the food was just delicious. Additionally, I want to give special thanks to Edison for making our stay unforgettable.

The quality of the property is worth. Perfect location in the town for a family. Have a chance to feel the local life. Perfect room abd meals to a family with little kids. Also because of our travel time, our room was updated to the high floor with great view.

The heating system didn't work at the beginning, but the service took another removable electric heater to us. The service is perfect.

This place was remarkable!!! They updated our stay because my fiance proposed at Machu Picchu and they gave us a phenomenal view of the mountain side. The breakfast was spectacular and it came with our stay. They placed chocolate covered strawberries in the room as well and spoke about the area and what there was to do near by. They also helped us with our train arrangements as well as our tour arrangements of the mountain. Everything was sanitized and cleaned to covid standards and Maria (the Concierge) as well as the rest of the staff were so kind and so amazing. Remarkable

I loved every part and every second of that stay. If I could live outside the sacred valley in aguas calientes I absolutely would. The area has been hit with several mudslides due to the rapids next to the hotels but the community takes care of it and does the best that they can and they absolutely do. With landslides and recovering from a pandemic as a tourism dependent site I've never met such resilient and professional and kind people. Please support the area!

The facility is new, and breakfast is really good with the breathtaking view of The Valley.But the most important thing, at least for me, was the great, heartwarming hospitality of the staff! Thank you so much for the great stay! Definitely worth a money!

Nothing I can think of

All the staff we came into contact with were very attentive, professional and friendly. The room was large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was superb with wide selection of foods and drinks.

Top place to stay in Aguas Calientes. Great room, friendly staff, good meet-up from the station. Solis breakfast. Just great.

Pricey, but you really do get what you pay for.

Could do with some refresh/remodeling especially the bathrooms, but it’s still in good shape

The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly and made us feel very special. There were lots of lovely touches and treats. They made a real effort with the children. The food was very good. We did not arrange for someone from the hotel to meet us from the train but when we arrived there was someone waiting. It was very impressive and took away all the stress of finding the hotel.
