The breakfast each morning was perfect, with a buffet offering fresh fruit, yogurts, breads, cheeses, sparkling wine, fruit juices, and a variety of teas and coffee. Freshly made eggs were also available to order. I loved that the lobby had a good coffee machine available to use anytime. The pool area was clean and functional, making it a great spot to relax.

The restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday evenings, which I understand, but I would have liked the option to dine at the hotel on Monday night. Also, the pool furniture wasn’t very comfortable, which made lounging by the pool less relaxing than I had hoped.

Das Eckert - Lifestyle Design Hotel & Fine Dining bei Basel is truly one of the best places we have stayed. The staff was exceptional, providing warm and attentive service throughout our stay. The facilities are excellent, including comfortable rooms, ample parking, a very good breakfast, and a convenient laundry service. Communication with the hotel staff was smooth and efficient, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The hotel also features a nice pool area, perfect for kids to enjoy. Its strategic location is ideal for travelers who wish to explore the border regions of Germany, Switzerland, and France, making it a great base for a multi-country trip.

There was nothing we didn't love about our stay. Everything was fantastic!

My annual trip to Grenzach-Wyhlen and I wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else. Clean, convenient and great food and drink. Room was basic, but clean.

The only odd thing about the hotel is the doors don’t automatically lock. You unlock with a key when you enter the room and then have to use the key to lock the door behind you once you’re inside. I’d recommend the proprietor invest in a card system and automatically locking doors. Also, for the breakfast consider doing a big bowl of Bircher muesli instead of the tiny 1/10th of a normal portion jars. I’ve rated the hotel about as high as I can and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else when I visit Grenzach-Wyhlen, but these are always items that frustrate me.

Spacious room, amenities, great balcony, free parking within the premises, A/C. Amazing breakfast, lovely and professional staff, specifically Phillipe at the Kitchen, Mira and Deborah. Really great vibe at the place, very clean and nicely designed.

We stayed here for our friends Wedding. Amazing Staff and they were so friendly and helpful. We were a large group and they just made our stay so relaxing : Thank you 🤩

I was a bit confused with booking rooms and I booked a Balcony room, Cosy double. It wasn’t as good as the signature double my friends had in the new building. Our room was a bit tied and bathroom small. BUT that’s just something to consider when you book :

The breakfast was excellent and so was the dinner! I just wanted to go to the restaurant at the hotel - and was so positively surprised by the excellent quality of the restaurant. I should have checked online - and like this, I felt it was expensive, and yet so(!) worth it!

the rooms were renovated, that was nice. The doors apparently didn't fit into the budget yet - maybe at the next renovation. Some soundproofing would also be nice.

Location is easy access and very quiet. Restaurant food was good (fine dining so not for every purse but very good quality). Very good breakfast with quality food.

Corridor/lift in the hotel would benefit a refresh. The hotel advertise a shuttle to the Euro airport, which is actually the reason why I booked the room in the first place. Turns out they meant taxi. Nonetheless, the access to the airport is relatively easy by public transportation from the location (less than 30 minutes by train and bus) so it turned out ok

Very nice Hotel. The people are very polite. Breakfast is really complete with many different products. Parking included in the price. The surrounding area is really safe for a walk outside the hotel. There are several place where to eat food or ice cream. The Hotel has a very nice restaurant but I had no time to taste their food.

Great ambiance, staff, and evening atmosphere. All close to hand. After a long journey, you don't want to be trudging the corridors.

The gym may need a little attention, but it is practical. The breakfast was a little odd, but I'm English, so it may suit other nationals. Very basic continental.

All but below was great.

there was an event “SlowUp”. Almost all roads to get to the hotel were closed, after one and a half hour of driving we found a small road to enter the neighbourhood. Not enjoyable with a screaming baby. Hotel did not notify us in advance on this event, though when I notified them at the reception the response was “yes this is very unfortunate, we have this problem every year”… Seriously? My suggestion would be to put this in your hotel’s agenda for next year so you can give a heads up to your guests….
