Breakfast area was being renovated, but usual wide selection. Rooms very quiet, roomy and very comfortable beds. Location a few minutes walk from Hotel de ville, plenty of different restaurant/bistros around.

My other half told me, getting from the parking area below, up a steep flight of stairs, the top of which had no handrail was downright dangerous and he had to help another elderly couple get up to the top. Thankfully from experience! we dropped off our bags at the entrance to the underground car park, whilst he went and parked the car. So much easier, some have lift access, many even high starred rated ones don't. I do think they should make it abundantly clear whether stairs are involved or not

Great location for exploring the city, close to restaurants and shops. Staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was great, lots of options including delicious croissants and coffee! Very dog friendly and everyone made our girl feel very welcome. I think the hotel must have had a major refit since some of the older reviews were left. Can't fault anything and would definitely return.

Nothing to dislike, all very good

The hotel is in the centre of Poitiers so the location is excellent. The rooms were well equipped and a decent size, also spotlessly clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the hotel had a nice atmosphere. Car parking was underground and very secure, although I would recommend booking with the hotel before you go as there is not a huge amount of spaces. Also, a number of the spaces are a bit tight size wise. You would struggle to park a medium size SUV in those spaces.

The only issue (which we knew about before we travelled) was that the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant in the evenings. You could order food in your room which was delivered from a local restaurant but by the time it reached us it was getting cold. We chose to do this as we had dogs with us and, understandably, we couldn’t take them into restaurants. They do serve breakfast there so it was only in the evenings, but there are dozens of restaurants within a very short walk. If you have dogs there is nowhere immediately adjacent to the hotel where you can walk them, but there is a park about 10 minutes walk away.

Excellent location right in the centre of Old Poitiers. The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English, thank you. Nice choice at the breakfast buffet also. The air conditioning in the room was excellent and much needed on a humid night.

I was in room 101 which was pretty gloomy and basic but I used a 3rd party booking website rather than booking direct with the hotel which often determines the quality of room you get and I only booked it in the afternoon of the date of travel. I also chose this hotel specifically because it has secure parking but only after I paid for the room did Booking.com tell me parking was limited and to contact the hotel to book a space at 8 euros per night. I contacted the hotel immediately but got no reply. When I checked in I was advised there were no parking spaces available but was advised to use the municipal multi storey next door. As I had no alternative I did this and my motorcycle was still there on the morning.

Nice old hotel right in the town centre so a few moments walk to a lot of bars and restaurants. Noise wasn't an issue as the hotel is set back in a courtyard. Room was well equipped and clean with a bottle of local water as a nice touch. Air conditioning was a welcome facility after biking in 32C. Didn't have breakfast as there was a Boulangerie cafe across the street

I felt 8 euros to park the motorbike (same price as a car) was a bit steep.

I am a designer. Beautiful standard of furniture and finishes. For example tiling in bathroom was very good. Bathroom shower well designed. Lovely Nuxe toiletries. Comfortable bed. Fresh and clean.

I hated the art above the bed: it was a classic celebrated photo of American workers very high up working on scaffolding. Totally wrong for a hotel in Poitiers. Should have been an image taken from French culture. Gave the impression that a US owned hotel chain didn’t care about the culture where it located its hotel. I’m sure that’s not the case but it did not look right.

The room was comfortable ans spacious. There was tea and coffee making facilities. The air conditioning worked well, which was particularly important given the heat at the time of our visit. The garage was well secured and we were able to park both our motorbikes in a single space (for a single fee).

The cups for the tea/coffee hadn't been well cleaned. They had drip marks suggesting coffee/tea had not been well rinsed away.

Breakfast was great. The breakfast manager is a delightful, charming man. The location is convenient to the major sights of the city. We were able to use hotel parking, which is quite close. The room was clean and comfortable. We’d stay there again.

The fire alarm accidentally went off in the middle of the night. The guests congregated in the hotel lobby, which was kind of fun. Perhaps a bit more tourist info at the front desk.

Very nice hotel in the center of Poitiers with many restaurants around. Parking in hotel is not good but there is a parking next door costing 2 euros a night. If you are traveling with a van then the space is limited in this parking. Poitiers is not great for bringing dogs as the city has not parks in the center.

It was not clear how to enter the hotel. It would be good to inform clients on what to do.

Tucked away but such an amazing central location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely big room with a big comfortable bed. We liked that the room door didn’t open straight into the bedroom but into an entrance hallway. Felt very secure.

Why do hotels never use a top flat sheet anymore? I hate just having the duvet. I get very hot at night and like to throw the duvet back and just have a flat cotton sheet over me. Other than that, the hotel is great and we’d definitely stay there next time we visit Poitiers.
