The hotel is in a great location, it looks freshly renovated and nicely designed, the rooms are beautiful and the view of the sea was really lovely. We really loved the location and walking around the area and into town.

Online self-check in for a four star hotel seemed a bit strange. And then having to wait at an empty reception for 5-10 mins with no one around was a bit disappointing. I couldn't say staff were unfriendly, but I couldn't particularly highlight friendliness either. And the breakfast was disappointing as it's literally just full Irish breakfast that you adjust and remove some items, and a small buffet.

Booking had advised that half board was included in the price however this was only for 1 night . The hotel indicated that the e-mail confirmation I received from them would have corrected this misconception ...however I did not see this highlighted anywhere ....I did not review the confirmation from the hotel prior to being informed that the package was only for 1 night ...however the food on offer was eexcellent and I was not too bothered by having to pay for the second dinner . This might not have been possible for other people !

The Junior Suite that we had was very spacious with great views across the estuary. Breakfast was excellent in terms of both quantity and quality and sitting on the balcony in the sunshine you could imagine you were somewhere in the Mediterranean! The staff were especially friendly and helpful.

The one let down was the dinner menu in the bar restaurant. The dishes were all religiously labeled as to possible allergic ingredients but the classification was vague e.g. 'nuts'. We could not ascertain which particular nuts were in any one dish and as 75% seemed to have this designation the choice for anyone with a specific nut allergy was very limited. Please make a list of ingredients available if diners need to enquire as to the details.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at your hotel. Staff so professional and welcoming, very helpful with any questions I had. Food ~ top notch ~ enjoyed the hearty beautifully cooked breakfasts each morning, served so well and the wide selection of food items on offer. Enjoyed 3 course dinner in the bar ~ each course beautifully presented and tasty ~ so glad I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner ~ highly recommend. Room with sea view, spotless with everything provided ~ thank you housekeeping for making my stay so comfortable. Overall would love to have stayed longer. ~ maybe next year.

Very well located hotel on the sea/riverfront. Great facilities and an excellent restaurant with an interesting menu. Excellent friendly staff.

No complaints whatever about the hotel. And there's plenty to do for a two-night stay within walking distance around the town. But the tourist infrastructure for Youghal leaves much to be desired. Youghal has many very interesting historical features, buildings and landmarks, but you need to look hard to find information about them. The heart of the town is fairly vibrant, but there are many derelict and semi-derelict buildings and closed-down retail outlets close to the town centre which let the town down.

The manager man that was on when I stayed was fair sound made great con and made it feel like home. Couldn’t meet a sounder man and the young blonde girl that was with his that night was very nice and very accommodating too…they should be looking for a big raise and I will be saying it to my contacts too.

The breakfast was good. Staff was possibly stretched thin. But once they realized we had not been taken care of they brought us coffee. They could have checked back with us. We got what we needed eventually. I own a tour company and wanted to decide if I would use Walter Raleigh Hotel for my groups. I do only 16 people max. 8 to 10 rooms would be required at the most. So I did a little FAM trip this time to Ireland. I am very impressed with this hotel! Thank you! Wee Group Tours Rebecca Armstrong

The only thing that comes to mind is that no one mentioned the Aurora Borealis was happening! We didn’t watch the news and knew nothing about it. I was very upset that we missed it! The staff could have mentioned this historic event! Otherwise it was a very nice visit!

Lovely friendly staff. Really good tasty food. A clean and comfortable room. Lovely views from the windows. Very helpful staff who brought our luggage up to the room when we arrived and brought it all back down to the car when we were leaving, exceptional. lovely helpful breakfast staff and bar and restaurant staff as well.

I believe there’s a significant opportunity to elevate the hotel and unlock its full potential. For instance, hosting tea dances in the ballroom could be a charming addition to the offerings. Given that it's the only hotel left in Youghal, it could play a pivotal role in bringing the community together and attracting visitors. Manager and staff was obliging.

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. Olive greets you upon your arrival and she is so kind and helpful, answering all questions and giving good advice. All the staff in the bar and the restaurant were also lovely. The breakfast was superb, fresh and abundant. The room was fine, comfortable with everything you need. Excellent water pressure in the shower. And the sea....is just across the street.
