I recently spent 7 wonderful days at Blue Dome Hotel, and honestly, it was one of the best vacation experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we arrived, everything felt perfect. The location is absolutely amazing – right on the beach, with breathtaking views and easy access to the lively streets of Platanias where you can find great restaurants and shops. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with all the facilities we needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was another highlight of our trip: fresh, varied, and delicious every single morning, with plenty of options for everyone. It was such a great way to start the day, sitting outside with a sea view, enjoying local and international dishes. What really made the difference though was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was genuinely kind, helpful, and welcoming. You can tell they care about making your stay as enjoyable as possible, and they do it in a natural, friendly way, without being too formal or distant. All in all, Blue Dome Hotel is the kind of place you leave with great memories and the wish to come back. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in Crete. Beautiful property, with modern reception, bar, dining area. The pool is large and gorgeous, and right on the beach with deck chairs to use for hotel guests. Staff really make this place and the receptionists and bar staff are very personable and friendly. Some of the rooms are more modern than others, but they are all large, comfortable, clean and well equipped with kitchenettes and balconies.

The restaurant wasn’t quite open when we were there, but there are plenty of options around. Our room was less modern than some others and we would’ve preferred a double bed rather than two singles pushed together. Platanias felt over-touristy and was our least favorite place in Crete.

Very good breakfast. I loved very much the idea of "a la carte" breakfast instead of buffet. Eggs were the heroes of the breakfast. Also my appreciation for the Orange Juice that was ALWAYS fresh. When it was not possible it was announced. But the communication was honest.

Some extra services are needed for guests that are staying more than just a couple of nights.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The atmosphere was very related. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic. It was a two-minute walk to all the shops and restaurants on the main street, and an easy drive to get on the major roads to visit Chania or Elafonisos Beach. I would recommend a day trip to Falasarna Beach. Although basic, the hotel's facilities were of a high standard. The rooms were nice and big, with all the facilities you need for self-catering. I thought the pool and beach facilities were exceptional. It has the most amazing pool area with a food and bar area overlooking the beach, which is 50 meters from the pool. I would highly recommend this to couples, families, and individuals who enjoy a quiet relaxed holiday experience.

The gym facilities weren't particularly great. This was more from my son's point of view who likes to work out with a range of heavy weights, and said it was also very hot due to there being minimal air conditioning. I would also not recommend visiting the Elafonisos. We visited and expected to see a crystal clear blue lagoon with pink sand. We did see the crystal clear blue lagoon, but no pink sand alongside what felt like thousands of other people. We were there by 10:00 in the morning and there were no sun loungers available, and it was extremely busy giving the feeling of just being a very tourist attraction. There are many beautiful places and beaches in Crete, but Elafonsis is one I would avoid unless you are going out of peak season maybe.

Perfect hotel for wonderful, calm holidays with family. Nice breakfast included (you can choose from the menu, everyday freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee) in a pleasant place with a sea view. Supertasty lunch menu, with gluten free options, which was great for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area - ideal for children and adults. The beach is very close and nice - it’s cost free if you order something from the bar. We had wonderful sea view from the balcony! I think it was a place in which you can really relax, it’s not big, but very cosy and close to the main street where are many great restaurants. Fantastic time!

Our room was a little bit outdated (the furniture and the bathroom was old). Our friends got newer rooms, but it wasn’t a big problem for us, the most important thing is that air conditioning was working very well. Maybe the rest of the rooms should be renewed in time.

Place was like in pictures, nice pool and not too crowded beach. Small restaurant was very good, not like the other ”tourist like” places along the beach. Keep it that way!

Needed to wait for the service every now and then, also at breakfast. But when on holiday that was all ok. We were charged additional 10 euros for an broken, old plastic credit card like door key when we checked out. That felt a bit funny while we at the same time paid over 700 euros for using hotels restaurant services. These small things matter 😔

Quiet. Right on the beach. Beautiful infinity pool. Proximity to shops and restaurants all within walking distance.

Everything was great about the hotel so if I had to say one thing with the breakfast included there could be a little more variety.

Very beautiful and well maintained property in the center of Platanias (25 mins drive from Chania) with a generous beach front and pool. Lovely owners and staff, very attentive with the guests from every aspect, worth mentioning that there's a focus on quality (didn't expect speciality coffee in a hotel - same with the food from the restaurant, the breakfast is not a buffet). We will return with pleasure when visiting Crete again.

Its right on the beach.. only one or two other hotels that have there pool area right next to the beach

The breakfast is not a buffet. But is served.. sometimes takes up to an hour to finish breakfast. Also its outdoors.. a challange when its already 30 degrees at 10:00.. not alot of parking spaces

The location of Blue Dome was absolutely perfect. It was incredible to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. I really liked that it felt exclusive as opposed to a gigantic resort. The updated 1 bedroom apt was perfect for a week’s stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It would have been great if the kitchen/bar didn’t close at 7 and the pool area stayed open until later.
