We had been delighted with a 1 week stay in one of Rose and Crown’s bigger rooms, and had booked another couple of nights on return from a trip to the seaside. Only 2 nights, thought we’d go for one of the lesser spec rooms. Didn’t really appreciate when we did so that we’d be going back to the usual (much smaller) size of a London hotel room. So while the host and staff, cleanliness and breakfast were all marvellous again, our experience was diminished compared to the previous stay. Our fault entirely, so when you book, go for the larger room size, it’s so worth it!

Lovely old character building with up to date room and sparkling en suite. Fresh flower posy and quality products in room tray show a level of care and attention to detail. Good quality fresh food with consideration been giving to sourcing e.g English butter at breakfast table. Great roof terrace on a sunny day; what a treat this was in glorious sun evening and morning. Professional and friendly service. Good location with ample transport links. Stoke Newington a really nice neighborhood with amazing independent shops and services all way down Church Street from Rose and Crown to High Street, do have a wander if you have the time.
Tip: take a USB plug, there wasn't one in the socket. Not an issue, just be prepared. Otherwise, nothing here that wasn't to like.

Really nice room. Clean. Had everything we needed and more. Friendly staff. Nice touches in the room such as water, flowers and coffee. We didn't have the breakfast but it looked great. Nice location that felt safe at night with lots of lovely shops and cafes nearby. Above a pub which we didn't drink in, but I would like to! 100% would stay again!
The only downside was that the towel rail was really really really hot and had no off switch or way to adjust it, making the bedroom SO HOT. Felt wrong to run the air con and have the window open constantly but otherwise it was so hot in the room. Did add comedy value though when next door walked in to their room and shouted "it's like Spain in here".

The host and her staff were all great - friendly, helpful and great at their jobs. The orientation given on arrival was excellent - patient and thorough. Breakfast was generous, the room spacious and comfortable and the daily servicing left the room clean and re-provisioned.
The only fridge was a tiny mini fridge, better than nothing but not by very much. A small quibble, a tiny distraction from a perfect score!

Excellent facilities. Lovely breakfast. We made good use of the roof terrace - a real bonus. We had good air con. Which was needed! Each of the rooms had its own character and all were configured to our different specifications (we had most of the rooms for a wedding nearby.) All staff were friendly and helpful. Great location.
Not all rooms had air con. It is an old pub, so there was no lift and the stairs were quite steep, but staff carried our luggage and were very helpful.

Delightful stay over Christmas. It was THE hotspot in the neighbourhood on Christmas Eve and then out was jumping until 1.30 am which was not too great. But everything else was perfection with the most wonderful blend of professionalism tempered with charm friendliness and helpfulness. The breakfast served by Kate included fresh fruit salad and homemade yoghurt, sourdough toast and excellent coffee as well as various kinds of croissants and nothing was too much trouble.
It was all lovely so I can’t find anything bad to say.

Attentive and friendly staff like seeing old friends, despite it being a pub it was really quiet. Bar staff understood my allergen and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Food was lovely I ate here all five nights I stayed. Loved the atmosphere of the pub, residents were friendly and liked a good chat. It’s great to see a pub so lively after Covid.
The loudness of the room doors closing. As soon as they closed it woke me up during the night. Maybe some slow release door mechanisms.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was wonderful. We were across from a huge park with deer and several historic churches. The neighborhood felt like just that. We felt we were among locals. The food in the pub for dinner and the complimentary breakfast was also excellent. One of our favorite parts was the patio on which we could enjoy our morning coffee and overlook the city.
Nothing.

Beautifully decorated boutique rooms on this guesthouse over a traditional English pub. On a gorgeous street full of independent retailers, coffee shops etc. Beds very comfortable, bathroom etc great, tea/coffee making in room & it was quiet for London. Accross from a lovely park. Gorgeous fresh continental breakfast. Lovely roof terrace where you can sit and have a drink.
No lift as its a listed building.

The breakfast buffet was terrific. I could have a different one every day. The bread, fruit, yogurt, etc. was fresh and high quality. The room was small but well laid-out. Abundant, modern electric connections. Clean. Roof terrace nice.
Bathroom very cramped. No hooks for towels. Shower very tight, slippery floor, no grab handle, no place to put soap or shampoo. Mattress not firm enough. Stairs narrow. In the generally superior breakfast, coffee was mediocre.
