Area was quiet, two blocks away from the main street. Park located across the street. This motel recycles and provides receptacles unlike many city ones that don't. Owner greeted us with pint of milk for our tea. No air conditioning and it was borderline hot but cross ventilation possible with windows front to back. Lovely museum on coal mining and modern grocery store New World in centre of town.

Parking was limited and with everyone driving SUVs (yes even in New Zealand) tight. Area is depressed economically and main attractions are nature and heritage. If you go walking on local trails, use bug spray!

This is very quiet and while close to highway there is virtually no traffic noise overnight. The unit was well laid out with door from driveway side opening into the galley kitchen and ranch sliders on other side opening on to a garden and communal outdoor seating area. The Queen bed in unit 12 was the perfect comfort level for me. There was also a couch to relax on and a small table and two chairs. i would happily stay here for several nights if Westport had been my main destination. I did enjoy hearing the birdsong.

The parking in main block is not allocated and is across the driveway from the units, so first come, first served. The parking area is loose stones so quite noisy as cars arrived and left. Last time i stayed here 5 years previously at a similar time of year the gardens and flowers were stunning. i was disappointed to see this aspect of the property was no longer so meticulously maintained. i asked the manager and he said some of the trees had been cut down but someone else managed the property then.

Met all my needs, it was a good price, good kitchen facilities, toilet and shower were fine, the unit was surprisingly warm given the time of year. Staff were friendly and accomodating and checked in with us each day.

Person using single bed would have liked a bedside table.

Very easy to find and local to the centre. Host are very nice and the place is nice. Unit was bigger and better then what the photos show. Very clean and the beds are comfy.

Only thing i didnt like was the wifi wouldnt connect properly (possibly too far from router) but it wasnt a big issue for us as it was an overnight stay.

Very clean & tidy accommodation. Had everything we needed for a great stay. This was not the most modern accommodation but was very clean. Close to town with supermarket just around the corner. We would stay here again & would recommend.

Very good value for the standard of the room and everything was clean and tidy. Good little kitchen and other facilities.

I found the TV setup a little difficult to use but after a bit of time managed to get the radio station (Radio NZ) and TV channel (TVNZ) I wanted.

The motel was a bit dated, but everything was there, and it was extremely clean. The towels were sparkling white, and the shower was a bit older, but spotless. The outlay was very good. You could reach for your towel from the shower, without making everything wet.

with the facility's they have, they have done everything they could.

Comfy bed, good pillows. Water pressure is good. Fan was great. Tv good. Wifi good.

Light in bathroom dull, hard to see in the shower. Smelling cigarette smoke from neighbours. Had to shut doors and windows. It would be nice if they were considerate and moved away from the building. Not outside the doorways of all rooms.

We have stayed at Westport Motels before and think they are very good value for money. The motel is close to the cycle trail and within walking distant to town. Although it is an older style motel, it suits our needs perfectly with a high standard of cleanliness, welcoming staff and comfortable beds.
